Ch15: The aftermath of the loss of a loved one

Yes I did cry while writing this chapter. But if you want to make this even more emotional then listen to the song above on repeat because it makes me tear up every time and it's not cause I cry about everything because I don't but some times there are deaths or sad moments that just make me feel upset and this even though I wrote it is on of them

Rogue's pov

I looked down at the ground, trying to force myself to look up but I couldn't. The shouts of Natsu were echoing in my ears as I tried to get the Kunai. Then I heard coughing, just as I got the Kunai. I looked up and saw Starlight collapsing onto the scaly back of the dragon, coughing up blood. Future Starlight was clutching onto her chest where blood was dripping from and was starting to fade away. On the other side was Natsu and the Future me standing staring in shock. I cut the chains as fast a I possibly could.

Once I had cut them, I stood up and took a step forward ready to run over to Starlight when the dragon suddenly jerked and the two dragons that were fighting and all of us on the dragons went crashing down into the gate at the castle.

Once we landed I looked around franticly looking for Starlight. When I finally saw her she had a pen in her hand and was writing something on a notebook.

I rushed over as fast as I possibly could "Starlight" I called as I reached her. She turned her head to look at me and gave me a weak smile, her eyes a little bit shut.

"Rogue... I'm sorry..." she croaked. I could feel the tears falling from my eyes down my face. "What are you talking about, we can fix this..." I started but Starlight cut me off by cupping her free hand on my cheek. "Please... don-'t waist your... energy..., my wo-und can-'t be... healed" she croaked.

"Don't talk like that, I'm sure we can heal you..... What about Fairy Tail's sky dragon slayer or Lamia scale's god slayer, They have healing magic......" I was once again cut off by Starlight. "Please... just promise... m-e that.... you'll take.....care of......... Fros-ch,... Pho-enix and...Ga-jeel. He may be tough but this will effect him.....Cough....... He will be s-ad...." she asked in a faint and croaky voice.

"What, but I..." I couldn't finish my sentence as Starlight placed the pen down and her breathing started to get slow and ragged.

"Rogue.... I lo-ve.. y-" Starlight never finished her sentence as her eyes slowly closed and her breathing completely stopped. At this point my tears were flowing out like waterfalls. "No don't die. Please don't leave me." I begged. I waited, hoping this wasn't real but I was wrong

"STARLIGHT" I yelled to the sky my tears staining my face and clothes. I looked down again my eyes blurry from all the tears that were falling as I placed my head onto Starlight's chest and cried onto her limp and cold body. "You promised. You promised you wouldn't leave my side. What.... What am I going to do without you. I-I can't live my life without you. P-please just come back to me" I whispered as my tears kept coming.

I looked up after 5 minutes of crying because I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see Gajeel standing their. He had tears welling up in his eyes and his eyes showed pain.

I looked down to see Phoenix, Frosch and the black and white exceed that must be Gajeel's. Frosch was snuggling into my chest while Phoenix was snuggling into Starlight's cold and motionless body.

"I'm sorry, this is all my fault" I sobbed rubbing the tears in my eyes. "Its all right, no one blames you Raios" Gajeel replied with his hand still on my shoulder. "Well you should. I did this. I killed her" I replied. "Rogue, you didn't do anything. It was...." I didn't let Sting finish that sentence. "My future self. It may not have been me personally in this time but I still killed her" I replied before getting up, leaving Frosch on the ground. I turned around and was about to walk away.
