"ONE STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE for the King and a banana swirl for his peasant, please," Hakeem grinned to Kat, sliding a twenty-dollar bill to her with a wink. "Keep the change."

For calling me a peasant I punched him in the stomach, making an attempt to wink at him but gave up. "Such a rude child."

For the past two days; every after school Hakeem showed me around Miami until I familiarized myself around here. There were some very beautiful parts in Miami, and then there were some terrible areas too.

But wasn't everything in life?

Sometimes, Bre silently tagged along with a book in hand or her phone and fries. I've never met a person more obsessed with fries than her.

Kat was always to work either at the juice truck or at the shop. Her only days off were Thursdays and Sundays. As for Lola and Malik, they would disappear off with each other.

"Thanks, Keem," Kat smiled in appreciation. After giving us our drinks, she was about to push the change in her pocket but gave Hakeem back the change along with some more cash. "Can you get Kaden his meds, please? I won't have the time to."

"Anything for my little guy," he replied.

"Meds for what?" I asked taking a sip and rolling my eyes back in delight when we got in the car. "This is so good!"

Hakeem took a long sip and then placed his cup in the cup holder while nodding in agreement. "Kaden has asthma."

He was about to reverse out of the parking lot, but I stopped him. "Can I get behind the wheels today?"

He was a bit hesitant at first, contemplating if he should actually allow me to drive but switched seats with me after a few minutes. "First you know how to fix bikes, now you can drive a stick shift. What's next?"

"You don't read a book in a day," I answered when we were out of the parking lot and on the road.

"Ummm...technically you can," he argued, taking another long sip from his drink.

"Urghh. My point is that you don't get to fully know someone in a week."

"Not even in a year. Now that I think about it, I don't think you ever get to know someone. Turn left. You always learn something new about the person. Either a new habit or an old past, but sometimes you do get to know a person so good that you predict their actions. Make two more turns to the right and you'll see the pharmacy."

By the time we were in the pharmacy, he was done with his drink and was chewing on the straw. The pharmacy was nearly empty, so it didn't take long for us to get Kaden's medications. It wasn't until we were on our way to the car did we see Bre walking into the pharmacy.

"Mute, what are you doing here?" Hakeem called out?

She handed him the paper and he did a face. I took it from him out of curiosity mimicked his expression. "Cramps and yeast infection."

She frowned with a nod, walking inside the pharmacy.

Hakeem looked up to the sky and raised his hands up. "Thank God I don't have a vagina."
