We arrived to what seemed to be a cave, and a majestic looking one at that.
A waterfall pooled over it and spread milky turquoise water until the pond surrounding it.

"Woah. Is this where we are staying?"

"Dont get too comfortable," Dyllon stated. "We won't stay here for long."
Ah, we've gone rogue, haven't we?

"Okie Dokie." I followed them into the cave which surprisingly had a door.
The floor was of a dark oak and had carpets laid here and there.

"Yah, it's echoey." The place was quite spacious so it had that effect.

"Okay, we only have two bedrooms. Cari can stay with me and you can have a room for yourself Adrian. As for food-"

"Why is she sleeping with you?," Ian asked.
Dyllon's kids pulled downwards. "You know why."

"But you should tell her why."
"Because you're an idiot."
"That's not the reason. Tell her."
"Well then maybe you should tell her that you're a-"

"I'm standing right here. If your hiding something from me, I dont care. I disagree with Dyl though. I want my own room. You boys can share a room."

"I can deal with that," Ian spoke, grabbing a few bags. "We are only staying for the night though. A friend was kind enough to let us intrude but we can't stay for long so let's not unpack anything."

I nodded my head and slid some luggage across the floor because I was too lazy to pick them up.

"Why are we doing this anyways? It's not like we're moving."
They both stayed silent.

Dyllon picked up the keys and said he was gonna park the car in a safer location.

"It's not like we're moving," I repeated. "Right?"

"Cari, we need to talk." Ian gestured me into a seperate room as Dyllon parked the car somewhere.

"Why are we moving? Is it Dean? Is it because I called him a lady dog? Are we gonna-"

Ian cut me off. "We've been hiding his from you for a very long time. And I couldn't understand it until Dyllon proved it with you.

"There are a specific set of people who are born with omnipotence. Science calculated that 60 -100 are born about every 1,000 years, all of them dying at an early age.

"These people are classified as "Projects" because they usually end up being he governments puppets for the time span that they live.

"Cruelty happens when they are actually treated like live experiments. Needles stuck in every possible place and beaten if misbehaving. They are needed so they can use the power to build a stronger army but most of mad during these experiments. They feel that being the strongest is all there's to it, they've been conditioned to believe that.

"After a while, those people are thrown out of the experiment, leaving them with no home but it's not like they would live for long.
The people who do end up surviving the tests and still having some sanity left are classified in different projects, to build up specific aspects and then to be killed in the end to be examined thoroughly."

I looked at my feet. Project 59. "But that doesn't have anything to do with me..."
Yes it does, it definitely does.
"But how does Dyllon know all of this?"

"What do I know about?"

Ian paled. "Nothing Dyllon. Just talking about how you found this cave and whatnot."

"Uh huh. You told her about everything, didn't you?"

Ian started stepping toward the alternative exit. "It's fine Ian. But it would've been better if it came out of my mouth, ya know."

"Yeah, sorry dude."

I turned to Dyllon and starred to interrogate him. "How do you know all about this?"

He sighed. "Sadly, I was one of the subjects."

"But how do you remember everything and I didn't haven a single clue about these experiments?"

"They must've done something when I escaped. We had a deal to meet at that specific beach when we escaped. You didn't come as quickly ad I hoped though. And it was infuriating to see that you has lost your memory on the trip here."

I rubbed my finger along the cuts under my chin. "Man, everything makes more sense now."

"Yeah," he added. "Hopefully some of your memories are triggered by this conversation."

"Wait. Who was Project 59?"

He stated moving toward the kitchen which was already stocked with food and dishes.
"Dyllon, who was he? Why'd he try to kill me?"

"Can we talk about this at a safer location?"
"Dyllon, the only living things listening to our conversation are poured plants and probably Ian."

"Heard that!," he shouted from the other room.

"I know that!," I held back.
"Dyllon, please."

He took out a knife and started chopping some carrots. "... Fine! Dont tell me. Just wait another 50 years like you did with the Projects and-"

"My brother."

I gave him a confused look. "What?"

He slammed the knife into the wood of the cutting board. "The guy I killed was my brother. Can you leave me alone now?"

I silently nodded and walked out of the room.
I sat on one of the couches and sighed.

I'm an idiot.

Adrian's POV

I walked into the kitchen for something to eat when I saw Dyllon bent over a knife, blood coating it.
"Dude..."

"Adrian, what are we gonna do once we get to the Safe Haven? Are we just gonna hide there all our life?"

I didn't respond. I wasn't one of them so I wouldn't know how they felt.
"And the worst thing, I killed my brother because he was gonna kill her and he would eventually try to murder me. So either way, I had to kill him because I was made better than him."

"But don't you have the power to bring people back to life?," I inquired.

"He was already too long gone."

Dyllon held out his arm, the blood dripping from his wrists. "Thought you might need it."
I rolled my eyes and kicked the blood from his wrists. "You're a wreck."

He shrugged. "That's what I get for being the Hades Project."
