I put a blanket over Dyllon's resting body and turned to Ian.
"He can't handle going back there."

"I know but what choice do we have? The entirety of the Projects don't want to go back either. It's you guys or them."

I sighed and walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water. This really sucked but I don't know what to expect so it's not really affecting me as much as it's affecting Dyllon.
If he's scared, it must be bad.

We were leaving at midnight, then being traded off in a secluded area in the forest.
It was to be sure the others wouldn't be harmed.

Everyone's so selfish but I guess it's just nature working its way to build up fear.

"Jerks," I mumbled.

I rinsed my glass and headed back to sit next to Ian on the other couch.

I glanced at him and he looked like be was in a daze. Kind of reminded me like how I am during water withdrawals.
"Are you okay?"

"Fine," he sighed.
"Lies. What's wrong?"

"Dyllon's my best friend and I don't want him to be like this. Promise me you will protect him?"

"With everything that I have. But you look kinda pale."

"He's also my blood bank. The pain'll go away soon, though."

"Well, why dont you just take my blood?"

"No, I couldn't do that."
"Why not? Come on, you didn't have a problem with it when we were traveling."

"How did you-?"
"I can put two and two together."

He groaned and covered his face with his hands. "Sorry."

"Not your fault. Now here."
I rolled up my sleeve and put my arm in front of him.
"You aren't gonna feel better if you dont do this."

He gave in, took my arm and placed his lips on it. It was a slight pinch but it really wasn't as bad as I expected.
His face was slightly tinted pink.

"Adrian, no need to blush. Their is no rush. If you try to drink too fast, you might-"

"Shut up, Ri." I laughed but, truth be told, I was really trying to hide my blush as much as I could.
But curse my pale skin.

A sigh escaped Ian's lips, alerting me it was safe to take my arm back.

"What're you gonna do when Dyllon and I leave?," I ask him, rubbing the two holes in my arm.

"I don't know. But if all goes the way the government wants it, I'll be coming with you guys. They need their pure blood."

Right, because Ian's the only pure blood of the experiments.

I coughed in my fist and spoke. "I'm sorry, Ian."

"For what?"

"For coming into your life. For getting you into this mess... For existing."

Ian's hand connected with my face and I looked at him, wide-eyed.

"Don't ever say that, best yet, don't ever think that! You are the best thing to come into my life and I would be a complete mess if you didn't."

I nodded to gesture I understood and the tears started rolling down my cheeks again.
"Ian, I don't wanna leave. I don't want to be alone again..."

He engulfed me into a hug and I silently choked on my sobs, the pain of sadness overwhelming me.
"I want to stay here with you and Dyllon. No... I want to be normal again. I don't want this stupid omnipotence. I-I..."

I coughed again and Ian shushed me.
"It's okay. We'll get you outta this."

"How?"

I brought my gaze to his and he grinned. "I have a plan."

Adrian's POV

Dyllon pointed into the distance of the forest. "There is a stream in that direction. If we follow it, we should be able to make it in a couple days to the small town. They won't be able to detect us if we go further from there."

Cari held my hand and started to drag me along, eager to leave. Her brown eyes directed in front.
She must've been through some bad stuff if she wants to leave the place Dyllon trusted would be safe.

A buzzing sound alerted me of the bugs that were around and I could here the rushing water of the stream.

"Well, I hear the stream. Where is it?"

Dyllon stopped in his tracks and looked around. "The stream is not that close by yet. What're we hearing?"

"Come to think of it," Ri commented. "I don't remember hearing bugs when we came here, they wouldn't be able to survive with the lack of nourishment."

The buzzing started to turn into more of a humming and it was getting louder.
"A bug."

I looked over at Dyl. "Bro, I know but what type of bug makes that noise?"

"The mechanic kind."
Oh shit.

"I knew they were no good. They made themselves look sincere and then banished us to make them look like the good guys, seeming as we had no other choice. That Chance is such a bi-"

Cari's rant was cut off when the humming stopped and the forest was still.
"Ian?"

I looked around and caught a glimpse of a humanoid shadow.
"Guys-!"

The world blacked out.

Cari's POV

"AHHHHHhhhhhh... Where am I?"

The room was bright and pale, bare with nothing expect the shackles binding my wrists.

"Hello? Somebody?"

I heard a snap, then a click and the wall slid like a door, a cool rush of air emptying into the room.

"Hello Cari."

The boy had brown hair and brown eyes, a tattoo on his arm spelling out "Gale Lynn."

"Boy boy boy boy boy! You ain't my brother boy!"

The guy sighed and rubbed his temples. "Hyper as ever."

"Why are you here Gale? Why am I here Gale? Where are we Gale?"

"Shut up, Cari. Still soo annoying."

"Well I probably would be a whole lot nicer if I wasn't kidnapped and chained up like a criminal."

"Blah blah blah. You always whine, you have serious problems, ya know."

"Why the hell are you even here? You're not a Project."

"Who the hell told you that?"
He then pointed at himself and spoke

"I'm the Zeus Project."
