"Ugh." I must've fell asleep on the couch or something. And why can't I get up?
I scratched my chin before actually opening my eyes to the bright lights.
I rubbed my eyes and attempted to push myself up, failing. But why tho?
I blushed when I saw Ian laying on top of me, his face red from the contact of his cheek and my leg. He looked so calm. And he finally took off his glasses, his black eye healed quickly. He also patch up his cheek with two bandages crossing each other. That's new.
I ran my fingers through his hair and away from his face. "What're you doing?"
I jolted my hand back and looked over at Dyllon.
"H-Hey..."
"Oh I know what's going on."
"No you don't."
"Yeah I do. You're in love~"
"I'm just touching his hair, that doesn't mean I like him."
"Uh, yeah it does."
He leaned against the backside of the couch. I noticed he had a new scar on his chin but I didn't ask about it. "Truth be told, I think that Adrian's starting to having mutual feelings."
I shrugged. "Don't care."
"Yes you do~"
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes~"
"Dyllon, I will skin you alive."
"Do as you wish, highness."
He walked to the kitchen to get breakfast ready and I continued running my fingers through Ian's brown hair.
His hair was soft and light.
"How long are you gonna continue doing that?"
Again, I pulled my hand back as Ian set himself sitting up.
"Did you rest well?," I teased him, hoping the blush wasn't too bright.
"I'm sorry for falling asleep on you."
"But why?"
He didn't answer as he was looking at me very closely. "Why are you bleeding?"
I'm what? I rubbed my chin and held in my gasp. The cut marks Dean gave me, they opened up.
"Don't know."
"Do you see me as an idiot, Ri? I know that my brother did this to you. Why didn't you tell me?"
I avoided eye contact. "Ri..."
He grabbed my chin and jerked it up to see the cuts better. "Ian, I didn't tell you because you'd get mad. I know you enough to know that."
"I guess you do," he sighed.
"Besides, you lied to be about the black eye. Why'd you really wear those glasses?"
"Do you really want to know?"
"Yes please."
"Well nope."
He got up to leave and I pulled him back. "I'm going to kill you, and you know I can, if you don't tell me what's up."
"I really don't know if you can kill me but alright. I'm a mutated vampire."
"... Okay, I'm leaving."
He held me down. "Listen. I was an experiment as well, along with my bro. We were given healing abilities and have that craving for blood. Eventually, Dean was recruited to find people like you but I never knew that till Dyl told me so.
I wasn't recruited because my blood was fully corrupted due to this test and I could've went on a rampage."
I smirked. "So who really bit me?"
"...Me..."
"Ahah, if you needed blood, just ask."
"Not that simple. Taking female blood is different from males. Of course, you won't mind, you're my girlfriend."
I stood up and stretched. "We can drop that act. It was only for your bro and parents."
"But I don't want it to be an act."
I turned back to him. Whaaaa-
"Look Ri, we have t known each other for a while but I feel like...like that...like that you..."
"You started to like me."
"You weren't like the other girls. You easily could do anything and everything, and you didn't care how people saw you. You are positive almost all the time. I found what I've been missing my entire life, Ri."
"Cheesy!"
"Shut up, Dyllon!"
"I need to take a walk. Call me when breakfast is ready. Or don't."
I rushed out of the room before he could protect and went for a walk around the garden. The flowers were colors I didn't even know existed.
I brushed my fingers on the petals of a white speckled flower and sighed.
"I like you too, Ian. I just don't think it's the right time."
"It's okay."
I looked back to stare into Ian's green orbs.
"I can wait."
"But you can't wait forever. I'm gonna give you an answer and whichever it is, I might not feel good about it."
"At least I'm not an obsessive fan of yours. But... but we should probably get going though."
I nodded. "Probably."
We both went back inside and Dyllon passed us plates of French Toast. "We should go right after breakfast so get changed and get the bags in the truck."
"Yeah. Um, Dyllon, I have a question."
He looked up from his coffee. "I have a tattoo with my name. Do you have one, too?"
He nodded. "Really?! Where?"
"Calm yourself. Why do you think I got all these tattoos?"
Ian answered. "Because it gives you swag."
"No, my name is Dyllon Cernunnos. It's on my arm. And once you're done eating, take the chains I left in the bedroom and stuff it in you pocket. Wear that shell necklace as well."
"Mmm, k." I finished my toast and placed it on the kitchen counter for Dyllon to clean.
I changed into a baggy shirt that had '#ROYAL' imprinted on it, a belt, and jeggings paired with knee high boots. I stuffed the chains in my pocket and tied the necklace around my neck.
I patched up my face with a bandage to make sure the cuts didn't start to bleed again.
Ian came in wearing a plain shirt and jeans, wearing loose belts.
"Your hair's a mess. Here." I placed a baseball cap on his head and he frowned.
"I'm offended."
"I am helping you and your lack of style."
"Stop flirting and get out here!" Dyllon was wearing a tank top and had a shirt tied around his waist. His arms were covered in tattoos and he had some muscles, providing the proof he worked out.
"We have to get to the place called the Safe Haven. Anyone apart of the experiment and escaped or knows of it hide there."
I sighed. "Okay, let's go."
