{April’s Point of view}

I don't know how long that ray of sunlight had been peeking through the gap in the curtains before it found its way to my face; nor do I know how long it took me to become aware of it.

I'd been dreaming on how much I wanted to be a footballer and to get trained by Ronaldo but I’m not complaining that I found one direction. They helped me a lot, I’m thankful for that.

I fought to ignore that errant sunbeam, to get back to my dream, but the moment had passed. I heard the nurses and doctors running around the hospital floor. I rubbed my knuckles into my eyes to drive away the sleep and tried to remember where I was.

The boys have been visiting me every day including Niall; He has apologized more than once but I haven’t forgiven him, he hurt me I can’t just forgive him…

*Flashback*

I got interrupted by the door slamming and Niall appearing in the doorway…

He got his phone out that was ringing and quickly answered it “Not now Lucy, I’m visiting April because I need to fix my shit… stop fucking asking me to do things… fuck…okay, whatever bye”

He put his phone back in his pocket and started slowly walking over to me

“What the fuck are you doing here” Louis snapped

“I’m here to fix my shit, Listen April” he started off

“What I did was wrong; no words can describe how much guilt I have in my stomach doing backflips or any type of gymnastics and the weight on my shoulders gets heavier day by day knowing that I was the reason that got you back into this terrible place, but I’ll do anything for you to forgive me, to jump in front of a train for you, twist my leg, anything just please forgive me…” Niall whispered

I haven’t noticed the tear rolling down my and his cheek

“Niall, I want to forgive you because you are my best friend or probably even my brother… I was closer to you than I was to the boys but I don’t think you have realized it, but right now I can’t forgive you…” I said

“But please don’t stop visiting me because I haven’t forgiven you, I’m not giving you a silent treatment or anything I just need to trust you again”

Niall ran to me and hugged me, making my skin ache again.

“I’m so sorry” Niall murmured into the pillow

*End of Flashback*

I smiled at the memory of that night while someone burst into my hospital room again. Niall.

“Hey there” he said

“Hey Niall, where are the rest of the boys?”

“They’re coming later, but I have a surprise for you” He said

“You got me another pair of football boots?”

“No, but I’ll get you ones if you want”

“I was joking!” I giggled

“Whatever”

After a moment of silence someone knocked at the door making me yell ‘come in’. My eyes watched the door open slowly making Cristiano Ronaldo come into my room.

“Surprise!” Ronaldo said

I looked over at Niall who was smiling like a 5 year old getting its favourite sweet; I felt my eyes get watery because my idol was standing in the same room as me.

“Was this your surprise?” I whispered

Niall just simply nodded and made a signal to Ronaldo, I slowly watch Ronaldo walk over to me with a bag in his hand.

I kindly took it and opened it to find the most beautiful football boots inside, with my name stitched onto them and the permanent signature of Ronaldo at side of them. I felt like crying right now, this is the best thing that has ever happened to me so far.

I looked inside the football shoes to find a note, my fingers gripped the edge of the paper and opened to find messy writing saying:

‘Will you please forgive me April?

I’m trying so hard…

I love you.

Niall x ‘

I looked at Niall once again “Yes”

“Do you mean I’m forgiven?”

“Yes” I repeat

I jumps out of his seat and gives me a tight hug, Ronaldo stood there taking a picture of us.

I couldn’t be any happier.

“So did you like your surprise?” Louis said coming inside my room with the rest of the boys following behind

“Yes!” I yelled

“There is another good thing” Liam said

“What is it?”

“You can leave hospital tomorrow!”
