Chidubem's POV
I scrolled through BellaNaijawedding's instagram looking at their newest posts because l wanted to get material to talk about in the club's meeting later this afternoon.
The page was loaded with wonderful wedding designs and clothing. The bare thought of it made my head swell with joy.
For as long as I could remember I always had a thing for wedding. The planning, the excitement basically the whole atmosphere. When I was really young I would beg my Aunt's who were getting married to be there flower girl. And I would never allow any of my cousins to take my spot as flower girl. I felt like that position was specifically meant for me alone.
That made me a little if not a whole lot girly. And I don't regret a thing.
I adjusted my skirt and fixed my flower crown that I wore on my head.
I had already got some couples down. With some dress designs to acompany them too.I was finally ready. Two weeks worth of research checking various blogs and instagram pages. The girls will be wowed. I clapped my hands together. Perfection I thought.
My sister Ogechi poked her head through my slightly open door.
"Your friends are here oo," My younger sister Ogechi grinned with her two front teeth missing. "Funmi said you should get your buttocks down here."
Ogechi was only ten but had the mind of a twenty year old. Sharp, smart and witty. I loved her.
"OK, okay I'm coming downstairs," I smiled back. "Jeez, why is Funmi so feisty today."
I grabbed my phone and my binder were I kept all my findings and discoveries from my dresser.
"Took you long enough!" Fumni rolled her eyes arms folded.
Hannah, my other friend giggled. "Hi Dubem."
The wedding Club was well rather small. I mean It was only us three. But we worked and when school resumes we were going to talk to the principal about creating a real club for after school activities.
We were best friends since nursery school and I loved them very much.
I ushered the girls to the dining table and opened my binders for them to see.
"Have a look at this one girls." I said pushed the folders into their faces even more.
"Dubem don't let me hit you oh." Funmi eyed me wearily. "Kilode, we should chop the book ni?"
"Oya sorry, just see this one first."
The folder contained one of the business tycoon daughters, Teniola Coker's wedding.
"Is a lie!" Hannah screamed. "She really got married to Harris Doke."
"No na, she will wait for you first." Funmi rolled her eyes.
"So what I found out was that Teniola's wedding was planned by HaKiJo Events, can you even imagine the whole thing."
"I definitely can." Hannah sighed dreamily and fanned herself.
HaKiJo for us was everything. The most pricy event planner in the whole for Nigeria. One day, when I grow up I want to work for them. I mean until I get my own event management company. Which I am currently working on right now. We had seen one of their flyers at one of my mum's friends daughter's weddings. Although they were pricy they were extreme good and amazing at their work.
They planned bridal showers, weddings, naming ceremonies and so on.
HaKiJo stands for Hanina Kitan and Josephine basically three badass ladies created it and are thriving in their industry really well.
