Ch. 8

Dinahs POV

"So...about earlier-" "-No! You don't need to say anything. I'm the one who should be apologizing.", Normani said. "Apologizing? For what?" I asked making myself more comfortable in the seat. "For leading you on...I guess?" She said confused. "I know this whole thing between us would never work." She said looking down all sad. "What makes you think that?" I asked curiously. "Is it not obvious? You're a blood and I'm a crip!" She said. "So? It's sort of like...Romeo and Juliet! That shit was romantic." I told her shrugging my shoulders. "Dinah they die at the end." She gave me a serious face. "Oh. Well like Bonnie and Clyde?" I say with a smile on my face. She looked at me funny before laughing. "For one, that's not even the same ordeal, and two, they both die at the end also." Well damn now I feel dumb.

"Well what do you suppose we do?" I asked as her laughter died down. "What are you talking bout!" She replied. "I mean about us!!!" I told her as if it was obvious. "There is no us! Why can't you get that through your thick ass scull!" She yelled at me now getting frustrated. "Mani-" I put my hand on her leg and she immediately slaps my hand. "I told you there's nothing going on between us and there never will be! Now go back to your seat and leave me the the fuck alone!" She yelled at me once more before turning her head. I just stared at her for a few seconds before shrugging and standing up.

Instead of going to my seat though, I headed straight towards the door. As I got ready to open it Mani made an outburst. "Where the hell do you think you're going?" She yelled at me. "Business...find it!" I replied as I opened the door. "You'll get us both in trouble so where are you going?" She asked again. I sighed. "If you must know then come with me! Oh wait, you're not bad ass enough to leave detention." I laughed as I left the library heading towards the lockers.

I whistled as I walked down the hall and came upon the locker I was looking for. Ally's. Bending down, since Ally's locker was on the bottom, hence because of her height, I put the combination in and opened up her locker. "Jackpot." I whispered to myself as I see a bunch of chocolate bars stuffed in a lil compartment on the side. "Ally you are a genius." I take out a butter finger and snicker. The butter finger was for me, but I was gonna save the snickers for Mani. Get it...shawty thick, thicker than a snicker! I laughed out loud as I closed her locker. Just as I stand up all the way I feel someone behind me. Turning around I put my hands up in a karate form only to find out it was Mani. "Mani! You nearly scared the shit out of me! Literally!" I yelled at her.

"What's that in your hand?" She asked with a smile on her face. I could've sworn that about two point five minutes ago she was pissed at me. "Nothing for you." I say laughing as I walk down the hall. "Dinah wait up!" I hear her feet shuffle behind me to catch up. I opened the butter finger and took a bite. "Mmm this is so good." I say while licking my lips. "Can I have the snickers?" She asked me as she reached for my hand to grab it. Right as she did though I put the snicker above my head. "Bitch this is my snicker, and when you get out yo feelings you can have it!" I said as a smirk came across my face.

We continued on the walk back to the classroom quietly. I looked over to Mani and she was just staring at the snicker in my hand the whole time. "Mani if you want this snicker you gone have to earn it." I said stopping her. She looked at me weirdly before realization hit. She gave me a seductive smile then leaned it. I closed my eyes and prepared myself. Just as I thought she was getting closer I feel her yank something out of my hand then I hear fast foot steps. I open my eyes to see her running down the hall with my snicker. "Damnit! Mani!" I chase after her as I start to laugh at the predicament I was just in.

"Mani" I call down the empty hallway. She was no where to be found. Well hell if she was going to leave school then I guess I would to. I turn around to walk back to get my backpack but just as I do I feel something jump on my back bringing me to the ground. "What the hell!" I roll out from under the person to find out it was just Mani. "You little thief!" I say to her as I start laughing. "I'd do anything for my chocolate guh you just don't know!" She replied as she started laughing too. We were just a mess rolling on the floor laughing like we weren't spose to keep our asses quiet.

As the laughter died down I stood up and offered Mani my hand to help her up. She looked at it before kindly taking it. She had tried to pull herself up but I purposefully yanked her up towards me. As she came up and fell forward into me I took the opportunity and placed a chaste kiss on her lips. She instantly pushed me back after a few seconds. I was about to protest but the next thing I know she basically forces herself onto me. She forcefully attacks my lips as I drop my butter finger to put my hands on her waist. As air became limited we pulled apart from each other, both with wide eyes. I decide to break the silence first since it was starting to feel uncomfortable. "Sooo-" "Shh!" She puts a finger over my lips to stop me from talking. I just continued to look at her while she was in thought. "Maybe...just maybe this Romeo and Juliet story will work out." She said causing me to start cheesing like crazy. "For real! Yes!" I pumped my fist in the air before wrapping my arms around Mani's legs and lifting her into the air. "Okay okay put me down." She started laughing. I placed her back on the ground then embraced her into a tight hug. We hugged for what seemed like forever until I broke the silence again. "Mani you do realize that Romeo and Juliet die right?" I asked her. She looked at me funny before we both started laughing again. "Yeah no shit! Anyway let's head back to the library before we get in trouble." She said as we let go of each other. "Alright. After you my Juliet." I put my hand out for Mani to go first, but instead she grabbed it as she looked at me and smiled. We walked back to the library hand in hand both with the biggest smiles on our faces.

"Okay you delinquents may leave now." I jumped up from my nap when I heard the door open. Looking around I saw Mani get her backpack and head over to me. I groggily looked up at her and she had one of the most goofiest smiles on her face. "What are you waiting for? Let's go!" She said. It took me a while to process things before I grabbed my backpack and followed her out the door. "Dinah I was thinking about this whole situation and you know, it kind of seems scandalous to me. Don't you think?" She asked me. I just looked at her and nodded my head to agree. "You must still be tired?" I nodded my head again at her second question. "Well you'll be home soon to take a nap." She grabbed my hand and we left out the building. But as soon as her hand was in mine, it was immediately gone.

"Mani! Babe! There you are!" I rolled my eyes at the sight of Arin. "Hey Arin, I told you I was-" Mani got cut off when Arin's lips touched hers. Just like the speed of light I was wide awake now. She pushed him off and he staggered back a second to stop from falling. "Fuck you do that for?" He said with a mad look on his face. "Don't act like shit didn't go down between us!" She put her finger on his chest. "And I said tomorrow we could hang! Not today so why're you even here?" She asked with a stern look on her face. "And why the fuck are you still standing there in our business?" I looked up from the ground and saw Mani was yelling directly at me. I gave her a confused face before she gave me a small smile and a wink. Ohhh. "Oh please I wouldn't want to hear y'alls conversation anyway. You two monkeys were in the way!" I shoved passed Mani and walked over to my car. I could hear Arin about to yell something but then Mani stopped him.

As I got in my car I put the keys in the ignition and looked out the window. Mani was following Arin to his car. I swear if he make a move on her I'm gonna cut off his-*Ring Ring*. I looked at the Caller ID and saw it was Austin. "What's up nacho breath." I said as I picked up the phone. "Get the fuck...Does my breath really stink?" He asked. I shook my head. "Now how in the hell would I know! I'm not there!" He's truly a dumbass. "I'm just going to disregard that statement. Anyway you tryna hit up a party tonight?" He asked me. I looked back outside and saw Arin's car drive off with Mani inside. "Hell why not? Make sure you let everyone know. Im on my way to Ally's so I'll tell her." I told him. "Alright oh and Dinah?" I hung up the phone right then. I always do this to him. Why? Because it's funny!
