Ch. 7

Normani's POV

"HEY! WHAT DO YOU TWO THINK YOU'RE DOING!" Dinah jumps back from me as we hear someone down the hall. Damnit! "I said what do you think you're doing!?!" Our gym teacher comes into view. You've gotta be fucking kidding me. "I know you girls hear me!" She said. "We did but in case you didn't know we were A LITTLE BUSY!" I yelled at her. I was finally about to kiss Dinah and this bitch ruined it! "Oh well since you wanna be cocky Ms. Hamilton, looks like you'll be a little busy in afternoon detention today!" She told me. I rolled my eyes as she started writing the detention slip for me to take. I turned to look at Dinah who was still trying to regain her posture. Neither of us were expecting that to happen. "Here you go. And I wouldn't be late if I were you or else you'll get another one!" She placed the slip in my hand harshly before stomping down the hallway.

I looked over to Dinah again to see her thinking face. Oh no. Please tell me I didn't just make a fool out of myself. Damnit I bet I did! "Should we talk about what just happened or..." She asked me. I tried to find words, but none came out. "I mean what was about to happen." She said correcting herself. Exactly. It didn't even happen. "What's there to talk about if ain't nothin happened." I told her as I silently made my way back to class. "Mani wait!" She grabs my hand from behind and spins me around. "I think we should talk about this." She tells me again with a sincere face. "I looked down at our hands touching and could feel my cheeks blush. I quickly ducked my head down so she couldn't tell. "Mani. Could you look at me please." She said with a hint of a smile in her voice. I was about to lift up my head until I thought... what was I doing. She's a blood and I'm a crip. It would never even work out if we became something more. I let go of her hand and turned back towards the direction of class. "We should get back to class." I told her not even turning to look at her.

We enter the room at the same time and see everyone packed up and the teacher still asleep. I quietly walk back to my desk and Alexa looks up at me. "Where've you been Mani? That was a long ass bathroom break." She said. "Yeah I wasn't feeling too good." I told her trying not to make the lie obvious. I grab my stuff and pack up. Looking up from my seat I see Dinah with the same thinking face she had in the hall. Believe it or not, my reputation is over.

The bell rang for lunch and I sprung up from my desk as fast as I could. I bet I was the first person out the classroom. As much as I just wanna leave now and skip the rest of the day. I don't want to have detention next week so this Friday will just have to do.

"Hey babe." Arin gave me a kiss on the cheek. What the hell! "Don't hey babe me!" I pushed him off of me. "Give me a reason not to bash your fucking head with this damn textbook!" I told him as it was clear I was pissed off. "About that babe I'm so sorry. I should not have lost my temper like that. How bout I come over right after school?" He asked me. "You can't. I won't be there because I have detention." I rolled my eyes. "What?!? What'd you do?" He asked me shocked. "Dinah and I were...uh arguing. You know the usual." I said with my head down not wanting him to sense the lie. "Okay well what about tomorrow. I'll take you out?" He had on his puppy dog face but in all honesty puppies aren't that fugly looking. "Fine. I'll let you take me out tomorrow. But don't ever pull that stunt ever again!" I told him. "Yeah sure. Ofcourse not babe!" He assured me as he gave me a kiss on the cheek and walked the opposite way. Why did I even forgive him is the real question.

I made my way to the cafeteria in hopes of finding my friends at our usual table. Sure enough there was Lauren and Tori arguing over a granola bar. I approached the table and sat down making my presence known. "Hey guys...ooooo is that oatmeal raisin!!" I grabbed the granola bar from Lauren's hands and took a bite out of it. "My favorite!" I mumbled as I chewed the delicious bar. "Mani!!" Lauren groaned. "Nah that's what your sorry ass get for taking it from me in the first place!" Tori said yelling at Lauren. I watched the exchange going on between the two and all it did was make me laugh.
