Ch. 15

Dinah's POV

I walked into second block to be greeted with Charlie. "Hey Dinah. I heard Camila got suspended." He said. "Yeah. She got in a fight. But this time it was completely one sided." I started giggling at the memory of Lauren's face. "Was it that bad?" Charlie asked while seeing the look I had made. "Bruh...I just wish I caught that shit on camera." We laughed and the tardy bell rang.

My phone buzzed and I looked at it. It was from Mani telling me to turn around. This bitch has the nerve. I ignored the message and went back to doodling in my journal. Then she texted me again. This time it said to meet her in the bathroom. I really don't have time for this heffa right now. Feeling annoyed I asked the teacher for permission to go to the bathroom. When he said yes I got up and brought my backpack with me because I do not plan on coming back to this class.

I walked out the door and waited for Mani. Seconds later she came out and we just stared at each other. "Dinah...look. I didn't know about what went down until the next day. And I am so sorry." She said. I scoffed. "Oh please! Just admit that you had part in it Mani! Hell just look at you and Arin all buddy buddy now!" I yelled at her. She looked down. "That's not...you don't understand!" She said. "Oh I think I understand just enough. Just think. You have the audacity to call Ally a ho, yet here you are hoeing around!" I yelled at her again. This time getting closer. Every step I took she took a giant one back.

"Dinah! If you would've just answered your damn phone..." She said. "My phone does not have shit to do with you being a ho!" I threw my hands up in annoyance and she flinched from my actions. Huh.

"Mani. Fuck are you flinching for. We've been through too much for me to hit you!" I said while trying to put her hands down that were in front of her face. She quickly jerked her hands back. "Mani fuck is wrong with you." I looked in her eyes but she was looking off to the side. It looked like she was scared.

"AUSTIN IS DEAD! TROY IS FUCKING CRIPPLED! CAMILA IS BROKEN..." I couldn't even look at her. "And you broke my fucking heart..."

"I needed you! And you weren't there Dinah!" She then yelled at me. I just gave her a confused look. "I SHOULD'VE KNOWN NOT TO TRUST A DUMB CRIP FROM THE BEGINNING!" I yelled at her. She started tearing up. "I'm not doing this shit right now." I turned around and walked away. "I CALLED YOU. AND YOU DIDN'T ANSWER!" She yelled down the hall. I just kept walking. "DAMNIT DINAH IF YOU DONT CARE THEN FINE...BECAUSE IF YOU WALK OUT THAT DAMN DOOR THEN WE ARE DONE!" She finished. I turned back to see her angry face. Instead of going back towards her, I turned around and went straight for my car outside.

Normani's POV

"Wait no!" It was already too late. She had left the building. Unbelievable. She still thinks that I told Arin and his goons to do that. Just when I thought I could tell her what happened I guess I was wrong. It's evident that she no longer cares about me.

I walked to the bathroom and turned the faucet on. As I scooped some water in my hands I splashed it on my face. I did that repeatedly until I heard a toilet flush. And on the other side of the stall was none other than Ally. My day just gets worse and worse.

I didn't say anything to her as she came up and washed her hands beside me. She looked me up and down. Weirdo. She placed her hand on my shoulder and I jumped away from her. "Ally what do you want. Just leave me alone!" I yelled at her as I moved far against the wall.

She remained still. "Normani. I don't like you. Not one bit. But I can see that deep down you're hurt." I rolled my eyes at her words. "Oh please you don't know me. As if you even care!" I said. She started walking slowly towards me. "I know these signs too well. I've seen them before." She said. I got confused. "What are you talking about?" I asked her. "The fact that you flinch away from any sudden movements or even a simple touch to your shoulder!" I looked down not wanting to make eye contact with her. "And you can look down all day but I could see the scared look you had on your face when Arin was walking beside you today!" She said. I started to make a beeline to the door but she blocked my way. Damn midget.

"How about I tell you a story." She gives me a sincere look. Instead of saying anything I just nod.

"It was summer 2016. A fun one might I add. Anyways there was this one nerd named Brooke, who only talked to one person in the beginning years of high school and that was her bestfriend. Her best friend was cool where as Brooke was...just a nerd."

The bell had then rang for class to be over and I think for the beginning of lunch. Right after it did a couple of students pulled in the bathroom giggling. "CAN'T YOU SEE THIS BATHROOM IS FUCKING OCCUPIED!" I yelled at them all. They all quickly ran out and I turned back to Ally. "Go on." I told her eagerly.

"Alright. Well Brooke's friend decided that why not Brooke go to her first high school party. Brooke thought it was a crazy idea but her friend however got her to come."

I nodded my head to show that I was listening. "So Brooke dressed up to have the night of her life with her best friend. They get to the party, and already people are turning their heads whistling at the two girls. The thing is, Brooke didn't know how to have fun at a party so she did what most people in movies usually do. She went straight for the drinks. When she got there she met this one boy. He was so friendly to Brooke that he offered to pour her drink. By now Brooke's friend was off somewhere probably getting stoned. So Brooke took that drink and drank half of it. She then had a nice chat with the boy, but a couple minutes into the conversation, everything went blurry." I gasped knowing exactly where this story was going.

"She woke up the next morning in a bed, completely naked beside the same man that poured her drink. She claims she didn't know what happened to her that night, but she did know. She didn't drink enough of the drink for her to be completely out of it. And after all her screams for the boy to stop. He didn't." I gave her a weird look. "Is that the end of the story?" I asked perplexed. She nodded her head. "What happened to Brooke after that. Did she go to the police? Did she tell her parents?" I tried to pry. "What did her friend do?!?"

Ally just giggles a little. "Brooke didn't tell anyone, and up to this day she regrets it because now...it's too late." Ally told me. "What do you think Brooke should have done?" Ally asked me. I thought about it. "She should've told her best friend who left her by herself at the party! Also she should've told the police! Even if he were to threaten her, she should've called the damn police!" I told her.

She gave me a small smile and reached up to wipe my cheek. I didn't know that I was crying until I saw her wiping the tears. "Normani... Did he hit you?" She asked. I slowly nodded my head knowing exactly what the next question was. "...Did he rape you?" She asked. This time I made eye contact with her as I slowly nodded my head. Instead of saying anything after that she just embraced me in a hug.

We sat there for the longest. All this time I was mean to Ally when in reality, she's just a good person.

We broke apart when a notification went off on my phone. I looked down at it to see it was from Lauren asking me where I was. I remembered it was lunch time. "Oh dang, hey I have to go." I told Ally. "Thanks Ally. This really helped." I said. "No problem. Just know you're not alone. And I'll talk to Dinah." She said. I nodded my head and gave her a hug. "Bye Ally."

I walked out the bathroom and walked to the lunch room. I sat down with the gang and they all looked at me. "Where have you been?" Tori asked me. "I had to use the bathroom."

I then looked at Lauren's face. "Damn Lo what happened!" I asked her. "It was Cabello. The girl lost it. First she's hitting me. Then I wake up in the damn nurse's office." Lauren said. Her face looked bad. "What did you do?" I asked her. Lauren gave me a funny look. "I didn't do shit but say sorry for her loss!" She tried to defend herself. I laughed a little. "Arin and the boys went to the bleachers in case you wanted to go." Alexa told me. I just looked at her in thought. "Actually you guys I'm good right here." I grabbed Tori's apple juice and drank from it. "You sure? Y'all been by each other all day today." Lauren asked me. I just shook my head. "I'm positive. And actually I have to talk to you guys but I don't wanna do it right now." I slumped in my seat because I lost the courage to tell the girls right then. "Yeah sure...after school?" Tori asked. I nodded my head. "Yeah that's perfect."

Just then Ally walked by our table and Lauren threw her yogurt at her. "Ho!" She yelled while Alexa and Tori started snickering. I made eye contact with Ally and she gave me a small smile. I reciprocated it with a smile of my own. As she was walking away with yogurt on her jacket I thought about her story.

I remembered how Dinah called me a ho in the hall earlier just like Lauren just called Ally a ho and it hit me. That wasn't just some random story Ally came up with. That story was about her...
