Mani's POV
"Hey Lauren? Do you think we could talk?" I asked Lauren as we were on our way to class. "Yeah. Let's go to my car." She said.I followed her outside and we got in her car. "Alright. What's up?" She said eager to hear why I've been acting weird lately. I decided to come out and say it. "I'm seeing someone." Well damn that wasn't it. "You are? Who?" She asked now intrigued. "You know her...but you hate her." I said. Lauren then looked up and started thinking. "Is it that girl Molly?" Lauren asked surprised. I laughed knowing exactly who she was talking about. "Umm no, and her name was Macy Lauren." I told her. Lauren looked like she was in thought and I just laughed.
"Well then who is it?!?" She asked.
I looked out the window. Then at my seatbelt as I started playing with it.
"Come on Mani tell me!!" She started to whine getting impatient.
The thing is, I don't know if me telling her would ruin our friendship or not.
"Mani, any year now." She said.
I hesitated. "...it's Dinah." I finally managed to get out.
I looked up at Lauren and she looked as if she was thinking. What turned into thinking turned into a sad look, then that quickly turned to anger.
""MANI HOW COULD YOU!" She yelled at me throwing her arms up.
"I don't know how it happened but it did and I need you to accept it." I told her. She just gave me a scowl then opened the car door.
"Lauren wait!" I yelled. She looked at me.
"I'm just having a hard time understanding why Mani! Like why the fuck would you even consider a blood! Hell look at my face. A blood did it!" She screamed at me.
"I know but they're not all bad Lauren!"
"Yes the fuck they are and the fact that you don't see that is stupid on your part!" She yelled at me.
"Lauren this is not what I need right now, I need someone to talk to for real. I can't talk to Dinah and I really need to get something off my chest!" I yelled at her. She got back in the car and closed the door then started the car. Thinking she was going to listen I put my seatbelt on but she stopped me.
"No. Get the fuck out! I can't even look at you right now!" She said with disgust in her voice.
"Lauren...you can't be serious!" I yelled at her. She didn't even look at me. Instead she reached over me and opened my car door. She's serious. "I just need to think about this Mani and I can't do that right now if I can't even fucking look at you!" She yelled. A tear rolled down my eye.
"Fine. But just remember this was your decision and not mine!" I slammed the door and started walking the opposite way of the school.
"It was your decision to fuck a blood!" She yelled as she drove off past me. I started the long walk home because I wasn't up for the rest of school.
As I get down the street a car pulls up beside me. As I see who it belonged to, my gut told me to run. But I remembered that if I did, he'd only hurt me worse. I stopped just as the car stopped and Arin came out of the front seat.
Right when he did, another car pulled up behind him. Arin and I looked questionable at the car as a boy with brown hair got out.
"Hey Arin sup man!" Arin's frown went to a smile as he did a bro hug with the boy. "Hey Shawn what's up man." I was about to continue walking but Arin glances in my direction. So I stayed put. "When did you transfer?" Arin asked him. The boy named Shawn started thinking. "I think about a couple days now. Man stuff is crazy here. I had to help hold down some girl from nearly beating the hell out of someone on my second day!" Shawn said. I assumed that was Camila fighting Lauren. "Bruh I could've told you that man." Arin threw his head back and was laughing. "So what leads you right here?" Arin asked now trying to figure out why Shawn stopped. He shrugged. "Oh! I had saw this lovely lady walking and was just about to ask her for a ride. I think we have fourth block together...right?" He asked looking at me.
I nodded my head not really knowing because I damn sure don't pay attention in that class. He smiled and I just looked at Arin. "Yeah uh sorry bro but I'm kinda with that." Arin said with a smug look on his face. Shawn's eyes went wide. "Dang man my bad! Well I just wanted to know if you wanted a ride since I can tell we're both skipping fourth block" Shawn turned to me completely ignoring Arin now. "Or would you prefer I give you a ride?" Arin chimed in. Both of them looked at me as I debated an answer.
Dinah's POV
"DINAH! TALK TO HER!" Ally threw one of my pillows at my head. "I already told you I talked to her today!" I yelled back at her. She put her hands on her hips. "No. You accused her of something she's not then walked away!" She yelled back.
"Wait. How do you know about our conversation?" I gave her a confused look. "Because I talked to her Dinah!" She told me. "But how can you defend her. All those times she called you a ho!" I reminded her. "It's not the same!" She yelled back. "Ally! It's exactly the same!" I told her. This girl is unbelievable.
I went to my bed and laid down to where My back was facing Ally. "Just leave me the fuck alone Ally I'm not in the mood to speak to anyone right now." I grumbled.
I heard footsteps then the door to my room slam shut. Turning around I was surprised to be met with a fuming Ally stomping to my bed. "Get the fuck up Dinah Jane!" She yanked my arm and I flew out of my bed landing on the floor. "Ally-" "I SAID GET UP!" I jumped off the ground at the sound of her motherly voice yelling at me.
"That poor girl is going through some serious problems right now and you acting like a little bitch isn't helping any of it!" She said. I just looked at her stunned. "But Ally think about Troy...Austin!" I tried to remind her. "Troy is fine. And there is nothing we can do about Austin! He's gone Dinah! And you blaming Normani for all this really is a shitty move." She told me. I looked down at my feet.
"Nah!" She grabbed my chin and jerked my head up to look at her. "You have no right to look down feeling sorry. Hell you need to go talk to Normani now!" She grabbed my phone off the bed and walked to the door. "Ally Wait! Where are you going?" I followed her out the house till we were heading to my car. "To talk to Mani Damnit! I'm confursed! What part of what I said was difficult for you to understand!" She unlocked the car and jumped in the passenger seat of my truck. "But Ally-" "GETCHA ASS IN THE CAR!" I went to the drivers side and got in. Ally tossed the keys in my lap and I grabbed them to start the car.
The ride to Mani's House was quiet. I kept looking at Ally to see her just looking out the window. I pulled the car into Mani's driveway to see that a familiar car was already there. I stayed still in my seat. Ally finally turned to look at me. "Well..." She said motioning for me to get out. "It's just... I feel hurt Ally." I turned to look at her. "Instead of helping Troy and Austin, I was trying to get busy with Mani. What if they planned this whole thing from the beginning." I thought about the actions that took place that night. "Dinah baby you just have to trust her on this one okay." Ally grabbed my hand and I gave it a reassuring squeeze. "I'll be waiting right here if you need me." She said reclining her seat all the way back, probably to take a nap. "Alright." I opened the door and right before I shut it I looked back to Ally. "Thanks Allycat." I told her. "No problem." Was her reply.
I walked up to the door and just as I get to the doorstep the door opens. I'm shocked to see who I saw on the other side of the door.
