Ch. 1

Dinah's Pov

BLEEP! BLEEP! BLEEP! BLEEP!

I smashed my hand on top of my alarm clock to stop the annoying noise. Ughhh I sure as hell didn't feel like going to school today, especially since it was a Monday. Last night my buddies and I had stayed out past midnight doing what we usually do, drinking and doing dumb stuff we'd normally get in trouble for, that is if we were caught. Sitting up in bed, I groaned at the pounding headache from my hangover. I could already tell that today was not my day.

I got out of bed and headed straight to the closet. On my way there I checked the time, which read 5:40. This was the usual time I woke up. My morning schedule includes taking a 8 minute shower and waking everyone else up by 6:00. After that I either start on breakfast, or when I don't feel like cooking a heavy meal, i'll make everyone's snack bag. No, a snack bag is not like a lunch box. We always eat in the cafeteria, but sometimes people be a little hungry before lunch and during class. That's the purpose of the snack bag.

After getting my clothes ready I go to the bathroom and take a shower. Once the 8 minutes are up, I get out and do the rest of my morning routine. I make it back in my room with 2 minutes to spare. I grab the clothes I threw on my bed, which are black skinny jeans, a white button up with the sleeves rolled up, and to top it off, I put on a pair of my all white nike's. I pray that it doesn't rain today. When 6:00 comes around, I can hear everyone else's alarms blaring. One by one I go to every room and wake up all the children. The adults don't have to be up so early since some of them work in the afternoon. Once everyone is up and getting ready for school I head downstairs and start on breakfast.

Breakfast this morning consisted of Pancakes, eggs, bacon, and a side of strawberries. I didn't go all out with the pancakes because of my hangover, so they were just plain circles. Usually, I would make them an extraordinary shape, but I wasn't feeling it.

"HURRY DOWNSTAIRS, BREAKFAST IS DONE, AND YOU HAVE 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE BUS COMES!" I cringed after yelling that towards the kids because now my headache was intense. Seconds later a bunch of footsteps were heard tumbling into the kitchen. They each sat down and ate their breakfast as if they weren't fed last night.

When breakfast is over I had 1 minute before their bus was supposed to come. "Alright everyone out the house NOW!" I stood by the door and watched as I counted one by one everyone. At the end was Seth with his pajamas still on. My eyes widened. "Damnit Seth! Regina just wait in the car for me!" I tossed her my keys and I ran with Seth upstairs. While changing him into his regular clothes I could hear the bus, so I knew everyone else was off to school. When I was done getting him dressed I rushed him downstairs and outside. I buckled him in his seat while Regina sat in the passenger seat. After everyone was buckled up, I drove to the elementary school first. "Bye Dinah!" Regina yelled out as she got out the car. "Bye Regina! I'll pick you up later!" I watched as she ran off with her friends, then I drove across the street to the daycare. Upon arrival I jumped out the car and unbuckled Seth. I rushed him inside and handed him off to one of the caregivers. "I'll see you later Seth." I gave him a kiss on the cheek and he just giggled. Running out the door, I made it to my car and drove towards Lake Shore high school.

When I arrived I turned off the engine and checked myself out in the mirror. Realizing I was missing something I searched in my glove department and found it. My red bandanna. I might have forgotten to mention this earlier but, i'm a blood. If you don't know what it is, it's one of the gangs around town. I folded the cloth then made it into a headband and tied it in the front. Now I was ready to start my day.

Getting out the car, I make my way into the building. The first thing I notice is everyone's eyes were on me. Yeah, I kind of have that effect around here. Making it to my locker, I put my things up. Once I shut my locker, I come face to face with one of my good friends Troy. He was also a blood. "Hey Dinah, you don't look too good." He said with a smirk on his lips. "Oh shut up! I think I drank enough for two people." I said shoving him. "It looked like all you did was down drink after drink!" He said laughing. I flicked him on his forehead. "Don't you think I know this already!" I rubbed my forehead trying to soothe the headache. "Dinah? Is everything alright?" I turned around at the sweet voice and was met with Ally. Just the sight of her put a smile on my face. "Yeah, i'm all good. Just a headache." I told her. She reached into her bag and brought out some Tylenol and a bottled water. "Here. This should help out." I took the pills and popped them in my mouth then drank a little water. "Thank you Ally! You're just too sweet." I handed her back the pills. "No problem Dinah. Troy are we still on for tonight?" she asked Troy. "Of course baby. I'll see you after your first block." He leaned down and gave Ally a peck on the lips then watched as she strutted down the hall. I'm not gonna lie, I watched too.
