Ch. 17

"Well if it isn't miss queen blood."

I looked up and nearly gagged at the person standing there.

"Fuck are you doing here Arin!" I look him up and down.

"Business bitch! I should be asking you the same thing!" He walked up closer to me.

I kicked him in the baby maker and as he was bent over on the ground I grabbed his ear and pulled it.

"Listen here you little piece of shit!" I pulled his ear even harder and he winced at the pain. "Whatever you and Mani had going on...ends now!" I let go of his ear and kicked him in the head. "You better be damn lucky I left my glock in the car or I swear yo brains would've been splattered against this damn pavement! JUST LIKE YOU DID AUSTIN!" I yelled the last line. He started getting up but I kicked him down again. "Not so big and bold without your side kicks huh!" I spit on the ground right beside his head. "Fucking dimwit."

I left him outside and walked into Mani's house. Once I was in I locked the door so he couldn't come back in.

I knew Mani was still sleeping with that bastard! I shouldn't have even listened to Ally and came here. It's probably going to be a waste of my damn time.

As I walk up the stairs I start getting even more angrier. How could I let this ho play me like that. Like I said earlier, I should've never trusted a damn crip. This is all just un-fucking-believeable.

Since her room door was already open I just stormed right in. She was laying on the bed with the covers covering a few parts of her naked body. "Damnit Mani!" She quickly turned over at the sound of my booming voice and what I saw instantly made me regret yelling. Her eyes were red and puffy and there were still tears coming out of them. She also had a cut on her lip and one just above her eyebrow.

"Dinah..." She was shaking as she brought her arms up towards me. I quickly sat on the bed beside her and embraced her in my arms. She was sobbing as I gently rocked her back and forth.

"Shhh. I'm here Mani. I'm right here." I ran my hand through her hair to try and calm her down and it started to work. Her breathing finally was in control and her sobs had also ended.

It was quiet.

I decided to be the first to break the silence. "Mani what happened?" It's like all the past bad thoughts I had of Mani were gone like that. She just stared up at me. "Mani baby tell me what's wrong?" I grazed my finger over one of her cuts. "Did he do this?" I yelled already knowing the answer. I jumped off the bed and started rubbing my temple. "Yet you're still sleeping wit-" my eyes went wide. I felt something sickening in the bottom of my stomach as I started putting pieces together.

"Did he rape you?" I turned back to Mani and she slowly nodded her head. Without thinking I ran out her room and damn near tripped going down the stairs. Once I got to the door I swung it open and ran outside to see his car gone. "SHIT!" I kicked the wall and ran back in the house.

"Why didn't you tell me!?!" I yelled at Mani once I got up the stairs and back to her room. She just gave me a dumb look. "Because you were to busy yelling at me for something I had no part in!" Mani then got up from the bed still naked and I could see another bruise on her stomach. "I just- I did-I" I couldn't even make any words before I was interrupted. "BULLSHIT DINAH!" She had her fist clenched yelling at me. "I needed you...and you weren't there." She whispered an I looked down. She wrapped her arms around herself and started crying.

I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her body. She flinched right as I did and my heart broke. How could I be so fucking oblivious. "Normani. I realize that what I did was absolutely fucked up. Because of that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not being there. I'm sorry for putting myself before you. And I'm sorry for being a dick." I saw a small smile after I said that last part. "I promise from here on out, you are my priority. I don't give not one fuck if you are a crip and I'm a blood!" I put my hand under her chin and made her look me in the eyes. "I'm not leaving you now and I don't plan on doing so in the future." I wiped a few tears from her cheek. I gave her a peck on her forehead and led her to the bathroom.

There I started running a warm bubble bath for her as she stood beside me, still kind of out of it. "Stay right there. Okay?" I looked at her and she nodded with a small smile.

I ran down the stairs and put the house to my car. When I got there I saw Ally knocked out in the front seat. I opened her door and groaned. I picked her up over my shoulder and shut the door. As I walked back into Mani's house I watched my step so both me and Ally wouldn't go tumbling down. When I got in the house I threw her on the couch and ran back upstairs. As I entered the bathroom, Mani was standing in the same spot.

I turned the water faucet off and helped Mani step into the bathtub. When she was completely submerged she winced a little trying to get comfortable. Finally when she did I rolled up my pants leg and sat on the corner of the tub with my feet in the water. I then grabbed a small towel and started putting soap on it. Mani leaned back into my lap as she closed her eyes. I then started rubbing the towel slowly over Mani in attempt to clean her but also soothe her tension.

"Dinah!" I hear come from downstairs. Mani's eyes open and I instantly face palm. "Up here in the bathroom!" I yell. Mani looks up at me. "Who's that?" She asks. "Ally. She kind of tagged along." I told her. Grabbing the curtain so I can block Mani's body she puts her hand up to stop me. "It's ok. I'm comfortable around Ally." Mani told me. I gave her a strange look just as Ally burst in the door scaring me shitless. "Damnit Ally! I thought you was asleep!" I told her as she quickly covered her eyes. "I was till you threw me on the couch like I'm chopped liver or something." I thought about it and started laughing.

"Ally it's ok." Mani said. I guess cause Ally still had her eyes covered. Ally uncovered them and had a sad look on her face. "These cuts look recent!" Ally said as she started rummaging through the cabinets.

She finally found what she needed when she came towards the tub with a cotton ball, bandage, and alcohol along with some cream. I continued to bathe Mani as Ally sat on the side of the tub and started dabbing a cotton ball in the alcohol. She then rubbed it on one of Mani's cuts. I looked up at Ally and mouthed "thank you". She returned it with a smile before tending back to Mani's wounds

The whole time we were in that bathroom it was quiet. Of course there was a glance every now and then between Ally and I but no words were exchanged. When I was done, I rang out the towel then helped Mani get up. Right as she stepped out the tub, Ally already had a towel ready for her to be wrapped around.

After we helped her dry off we led her to her room. I went through her dressers and found some comfy clothes for her to put on. When I turned back around Ally was finishing up with the bandages.

"I'm just gonna go downstairs and wait in the car." Ally said as she was about to leave. "Wait Ally! Actually do you mind staying?" Mani asked her. Ally just smiled at her. "Of course...I'll be downstairs." She left the room and I looked at Mani.

I helped her put the clothes on and once she was done I wrapped her up in my arms. "I know you don't want to talk about it now, but we will talk about this later...preferably when your mom gets here." I told her while running my hand through her hair which was now curly from the water. "Ok." She said. I grabbed the blanket off of her bed and guided her downstairs. When we got to the living room, Ally had already started some popcorn and had some sodas on the table. "I hope you don't mind but I found the popcorn!!!!!" Ally said enthusiastically. Mani laughed beside me and I was just happy to hear her laugh. "This must be what you guys do all the time." She asked as she sat down on the couch. I followed and sat beside her. "How'd you know?" I gave her a goofy grin and she rolled her eyes giggling. "Popcorn's here!" Ally came into the living room and plopped down on the other side of Mani. "I don't know about y'all but I'm in the mood for a cartoon movie." I said as I grabbed the remote and started searching netflix.

Finding a movie I set the remote down and brought Normani's head to lay on my shoulder. We all sat there and watched the movie. Well at least I wasn't exactly focused on the movie. The whole time all I could think about was Arin. I knew what I needed to do, but I just didn't want to. It would make Mani devastated because nobody should go through what my gang and I went through. I just don't want to put her through that. I looked down to see both Ally and Mani focused on the movie. With a smile I looked back to the screen and tried to enjoy the rest of movie.
