Ch. 10

Normani's POV

"MANI!" I stirred in my sleep a little. "LIL GIRL IF YOU DON'T OPEN UP THIS DAMN DOOR!" I immediately shot up in my bed, but as soon as I did I was hit with a killer headache.

"YOU HAVE TEN SECONDS BEFORE I BEAT YOUR ASS!" I quickly jumped out of bed and ran to my dresser to get a shirt. After that I put some shorts on and ran back to the door. Before I opened it I glanced at my bed and saw Dinah's bare body peacefully sleeping as if she didn't hear this crazy lady. After running to the bed to cover her up, I walked back to the door and opened it to see my furious mother.

"SINCE WHEN IN THE HELL IS IT OKAY FOR YOU TO LOCK DOORS IN THIS HOUSE!" She yelled at me with her hands on her hips. "I'm sorry, I just needed some privacy in my room." I told her shrugging my shoulders. "Your room? YOUR ROOM? CHILD YOU DON'T PAY THE BILLS! I OWN EVERY DAMN ROOM IN THIS HOUSE!" She tried to push past me into my room but I quickly stopped her.

"Wait mom before you say anything I-" right before I could get any words out, she thumps me in the forehead causing me to stumble back a little.

"Who the hell is this?" She then whispers after seeing Dinah asleep. "She's a new friend of mine Mama." I said while regaining my posture. "You didn't ask if anybody can stay over in this house and you know I don't play that game." She sternly looked at me. "I'm sorry Mama, it was late and we didn't want to wake you up." I tried to lie and for some reason I felt like she knew I was lying.

"Yeah...right. Just don't let this happen again or you gone catch these hands. You hear me little girl?" She said to me. "Yes ma'am. Got it." I said while giving her a "love you" look so I wouldn't get chewed out when Dinah leaves.

She left my room without another word and I shut the door, this time not locking it. I walked over to the bed and laid back down beside Dinah. "Dinah." I whispered to try and get her to wake up. Nothing. "Dinah." I said a little bit louder." Still nothing. "DINAH!" I yelled in her ear and she jumped up out of her slumber.

"What happened! Who died!" She frantically yelled. I laughed at her goofiness. "Dinah it's just about time to wake up. My mom had caught you in here." I said as I started giggling thinking about the situation I was just in.

"Oh dang, are you in trouble?" She asked while laying back down on her back. "Uhh a little...but I'll be fine as long as you don't leave." I laid back down on top of her shoulder and closed my eyes. "Mani I thought you said it was about time to wake up?" She asked. "I'm not going back to sleep, I'm simply laying here in your presence." I told her as I looked up at her. She smiled down at me and kissed my forehead.

We stayed in each other's arms until I heard a ding come from my phone. I lifted up and grabbed it from the nightstand before laying back down in Dinah's arms. There were messages from Lauren, Alexa, and Tori along with 5 missed calls from them.

"Dinah did your friends know that you left last night?" I asked her ignoring all the messages on my phone. "Oh shit! I knew I forgot something." She sarcastically said. She rubbed her temples before turning towards me, wrapping her arms around my waist, and closing her eyes once more. Why can't I just have the same mindset as Dinah. I set my phone on the nightstand and cuddled further into Dinah as I closed my eyes.

Dinah and I were watching TV still in bed when my mother called my name from downstairs. "Mani, I'm heading out. If you need anything call me." She yelled. "Yes ma'am." I yelled right back. Seconds after that I heard the front door shut.

"What you tryna do other than laying in this bed all day?" I turned to Dinah. "Well...I have something in mind...but we'll need to move your mattress." She said while smiling. "What exactly did you have in mind?" I seductively asked her. "You'll see." She smiled as we both got off the mattress.
