"The day of my birth, my death began it's walk. It is walking towards me, without hurrying."

July the 6th, 2017.

A gently breeze fluttered its way through the country lane, making me smile as her dress swayed causing a rippling effect in her simple white summer dress. Her blonde locks moved to the side of her, as the wind approached from the left. I felt my shirt lift from my torso as the breeze moved it's way through my loose clothing, I pushed my hair out of my face as I watched her lift her phone from her bag.

She lifted the blue tinted mobile phone to her ear, "Pa, I'll be about five minutes." She paused, listening to her father.

I had been watching over her three weeks now, and nothing has happened. No contact with demons. I frowned as my stomach felt unsettled, I placed my hand upon my belt buckle. Looking at her I could see flashes of red pigment on her white dress and within her blonde hair, I shook my head. What was I seeing?

She closed the mobile phone, and tucked it back in her bag before looking in my direction. Her eyes became glossed over, bloody dripping from her forehead. No

I walked faster as she began to turn around a corner, my stomach turned. Her small figure disappeared behind large trees and shrubbery, a small part of the white fabric turned a bright red...she didn't know I was here...she didn't know she was going to die

I broke in to a run, the sound of a horn erupted. Echoing down the empty roads.

Time slowed. I could see her, her black eyes wide with fear as the front of a truck was visible. Racing down the street towards her. I peered in to the window, an older man was shouting and waving his hand as the breaks screamed. I can't let her die

Pushing myself off of the ground I felt my wings widen, as the wind sent me flying towards her. I heard the horn against my ear as I darted in front of the head lights, wrapping my arms around her I pushed her out of the trucks way.

It flew past, causing her hair to fall against my chest we both lay on the floor. I sat up, moving away from her as she lay upon the grass in shock. The driver pushed down on his breaks, causing the vehicle to stop in the middle of the small road. He rushed over to her, his hands visibly shaking. "Miss, are you okay?" She nodded looking up at the scruffy looking man. "Do you want me to call anyone?"

She shook her head, "I am fine, I only have a little while to walk before I am at my dad's anyway." The driver reluctantly nodded before running back in to his truck and driving away.

I watched at the truck vanished from view. I sighed, relief washed over me as I looked down at her breathing being.

She was looking up at the sky, her eyes reflecting the sky. "Ngel?" she asked. I froze, my body tensing up. She pulled herself up from the ground her white dress now tinted green by the grass, "I couldn't move, I should have been dead."

I tucked my wings back. As the trees ruffled, their green leaves sheltering us from the burning sunlight. "Who are you?" standing up she screamed out, tears appearing and falling down her face. "I can't see you like I did Ngel."

I looked up at the sky, Wes, Remi don't kill me. I took a deep breath as the enchantment was peeled off, she was facing away from me as I became visible to this world. I felt my insecurities swell up inside my brain, I coughed trying to get her attention.

She turned around, her mouth parted as her eyes rested upon me. "What are you?" she stepped backwards slightly - she was scared.

"I am an angel," I smiled. "My name is Matthias, and before you say it. Yes my skin is weird, but there is a reason behind that." She wiped her tears as I introduced myself.

"Your an angel?" she inquired. "Like Ngel? And that girl at that bar?" I nodded to her questions. "Where is Ngel?"

I placed my hands in my pockets as she moved closer to me, "He's dead." She shook her head. "You probably think nothing can kill angels," She looked down at the ground as her hand covered her mouth. "Demons, only thing that can kill us."

"You're lying!" She shouted towards me.

"Believe me," I looked around. "I wish I wasn't."

Looking back at her she had fallen to her knees, "He was my friend."

"He was my family." I stated causing her to look up at me, her black eyes sparkling with tears. I smiled down at her, "Most of the angel's I have known died because of demons, and they died in front of me."

Crouching down by her side I looked at her, my eyes reading hers. "Those demons are after you, that's why I am here - because I am your guardian I have been for almost a month."

"What do you mean? they are after me?" She asked. "and if demons kill angels how are you going to protect me?"

I smiled at her last question, "You better ask your father if you want to know why...and because I killed some." She looked at me wide-eyed. "Let's get you out of here." I held out my hand to her, she took it as I pulled her up from the ground.

She turned around and began to walk to the old cottage where she grew up. I began to reassemble the enchantment, she turned around. Her eyes watching me as my body began to disappear. "Please, I want to know that you are nearby. I can't see you with that, you're stronger than Ngel was." I froze at her words.

"That's going against all of my training," I informed her. As I looked in to her eyes I saw the fear. "Okay, just for a little while." I let the enchantment go as I walked towards her. She turned around, walking towards the road.

I couldn't help but smile as she began to hum once more, maybe...just maybe she'll be fine.
