Distant Star

Now, as humans we may not think about the little specks of light in the sky. We just look at them, yawn, sigh or screech when we see a constellation. Stars are way more than that. They're like a fairy tale, but for the atmosphere. I'm sure that's what Asteria was trying to prove to the other gods, the elegance of the stars, that lit up Zeus' night sky. The light that reflected in Poseidons' waters and the pretty story that couldn't be seen from Hades' realm.
Asteria, was good, pretty, and upheld the the rule of the stars through the ages.

Suddenly, I awoke. I was still in Kandas arms, however, now in some sort of cast with crutches at my side.

'You've really done it now. Broke your leg and sprained the other. Fantastic.' Kanda says to me as he still holds my fragile form.

'Sorry.. but at least we found the book' I tell him with a smile on my face. He nods.
'Yes, that's a benefit'

I giggle, my chubby cheeks revealing dimples with them.

'What's up?' He asks me.

'You don't have to hold me. I have crutches, you know?' I tell him the obvious.
He looks at me with sad eyes.

'But...' he begins.
I sigh.

'Fine.' I smile at him and hug him.
'Is this okay then?'

He frowns.

'Too far?' I ask with sad puppy eyes.
His eyes fill with remorse.

'No, that's okay' he tells me, reassuring me.
I've got him. I found his weak side.
I give him a quick smirk.
Right on cue, the notorious Kamui walks in, holding the book which I sacrificed me legs for.

'Why Hello the Kanda. I hope nothing dirty is happening.' Kamui speaks out.

'Kamui! He's harassing me!' I tell him with sorrow in my voice.
Kanda looks at me like I've just killed an animal.(No animals were harmed, I love every creature on this sorrow ridden planet 😊)

'Kanda...' Kamui starts.
Kanda continues staring at me, the same way he did before.

'I was kidding. He didn't do anything that made me feel uncomfortable.' I tell Kamui as I get off Kandas lap and sit on the bed.

'Takeshi, I wanted to talk to you about something in the book' Kamui tells me as I swing my legs back and forth on the bed.
Kanda stops me and shakes his head, his eyes almost saying "if you continue, you'll hurt yourself".

'What part are you curious about Kamui?' I ask him.
He turns to the page marked with a post it note. I don't remember wether I marked it or if Kamui marked it.

'This part, it says something about Asteria being imperfect, how the other gods looked down on her ideas and her stars. Why?' He asks me.
Of course he'd ask me that.. he marked it.

'Well.. Zeus wasn't very happy with his skies being ridden with lights that looked prettier than his morning and night sky' I begin, both Kanda and Kamui staring at me as I speak.

'Asteria was beautiful, prettier than Persephone, and that made the god of love angry. So she placed a curse of Asteria, a curse which meant no one could love her. But of course, some one fell in love with her. His name was Bronislavas. Because he fell in love, he was cursed also. Cursed by the stars that Asteria placed. That curse wasn't set by Asteria herself, but by the jealousy that riddled Persephone.' I try to explain as best as I can.

'They had 2 children. Valentina and Ugnis. One meaning Love the other meaning Fire. They weren't cursed as children, but as Ugnis grew older, since he was the male child, he was passed on Bronislavas' curse. Valentina was the one that was protected from the curse. She became known as "The Holy One". Ugnis had to live with the fact that he was cursed, but he found a love and had children. He married a woman named Midori, or as I knew her, "mama". She was an amazing woman, she gave birth to children named Aoi and Avery. However, Aoi died before the age of 18, since he was older than me.' I finish. They look at me confused.
'Do I need to draw a family tree?' I ask.
'No.. its just that.. aren't you cursed? Since.. you're a distant relative of Asteria.' Kamui asks.
