Astrid's POV
I run into Hiccup's hut and I see a note on the table. I read it out loud,
Dear Gang,
I'm sorry bur I'm leaving. I can't stand to see Astrid with Snotlout, it would just break me even more. I'm happy for you guys. I'm leaving Astrid in charge. Twins behave. I'll miss you all and hope we can run into each other in the future.

I didn't read the post script out loud and I start crying. I have to find him.
5 years Later (age 23)
It's been 5 years since Hiccup left. We searched for him for the 1st year but after having no luck finding any trace of him we stopped looking. Each day I wait hoping for him to show up, but I know that that might never happen because I shattered his heart and assumed he cheated on me.
We all still live at the edge but things haven't been the same without him.
Hiccup's POV
It's been 5 years since my heart was broken by Astrid. I still love her though. I have been through so much since I left. I've been captured so many times and tortured but always get out of it with Toothless' help, I defeated Drago Bludvist, have become the dragon prince, met my mother, have trained with the dragons, and so much more (like Toothless becoming the Alpha) Viggo and Ryker have started poking my sides again. I just got captured by them.
"Where's the dragon eye boy" Ryker asks me pointing his sword at my throat.
"I don't have it," I respond. He keeps torturing me until we stop. I can't hear what's happening before I'm dragged above deck and I can see the edge. I look up and I can see who he's talking to.
I kick the guard holding me and grab his sword behind my back. I cut the ropes and start fighting my body brining from the torture. There is no one left but me, Viggo, and Ryker.
Astrid's POV
"Hunter ships, come on guys saddle up and let's see what Viggo wants," everyone gets on our dragon and we head off.
"What do you want Viggo?"
"Oh nothing I just came to tell you that I have your dear leader and if you don't give me the dragon eye I will kill him," Omg he has Hiccup!
"I want proof bring him out,"
"Fine, guards grab the prisoner," I see them dragging out a man, that looks like he's been tortured, with auburn hair. He slowly looks up to reveal his freckles and emerald green eyes. It is Hiccup! I soon worry cause he's probably been tortured.
He kicks the guard and grabs his sword. He cuts his ropes and starts fighting them. One by one Hiccup defeats all of them until it's just him, Ryker, and Viggo. Wow he changed but he definitely got hotter.
He looks like he's having trouble with all the blood lost.
"Guys let's help him," they are all staring at their former leader with wide eyed. They snap out of it and start shooting trying not to hit Hiccup.
I see him run under the deck. 'What is going back for?' Then I hear a Night Fury call. 'Toothless of course' I thought. I see him fly up doing multiple spins and Toothless snarling at the ship and becoming blue?? ( like HTTYD 2). The other dragons were released and they bow at Toothless and Hiccup.
"You come after me and my family again and I will not let you live," with that he shoots the boat in the middle and it cracks in half. The rest of us are staring wide eyed at him.'what happened to the Hiccup we knew?' I thought.
He puts a helmet on and flies off. Heading away from the edge. I know we have to follow him. I can't loose him again.
"Guys we have to follow him," we all zoom heading in the same direction. We can see him in the distance. We stay little far back so he doesn't notice is.
Hiccup's POV
After I threaten Viggo I zoom off. I'm not ready to face my past. I head home to the ice cave where I have lived with my mother for most of the time that I left. I'm feeling a little dizzy from the blood loss.
"Faster bud." I tell him. He speeds up and in no time we are home.
"Mom, MOM!!" I yell as I get off of Toothless.
"Hiccup what's wrong? Oh my boy"
"Captured by Viggo," I tell her she was about to help me clean the wounds when the people I was trying to get away from enter into the sanctuary. I feel like about to pass out, but I know I can't.
Astrid's POV
We see this huge ice cave and Hiccup enter it. We follow him in and see him getting off Toothless and another woman there helping him.
"Guys I really don't need to be dealing with this right now. Go back to the edge," he says. That ticks me off.
"No Hiccup. Do you know how long we have been looking for you? No you don't because upped and left."
"I wouldn't have left if if..." then he collapses.
"Hiccup!!" All of us yell including the woman.
"Come on help me get him cleaned up. His life may be in danger." The woman says.
"Who are you and why should we listen to you?" Snotlout says.
"My name is Valka Haddock and I'm Hiccup's mother. And if you don't help me Hiccup could die. He's lost a lot of blood." We are all gaping. This woman is his MOTHER! She was supposed to be dead.
We all help Valka pick Hiccup up and place him on Toothless. Toothless is whining.
"Follow me," she says and then gets in a four winged dragon and we follow. Toothless is flying in his own and we follow her to what looks like a healers room. We lay him down on a bed while Valka takes his shirt off. We can't help but stare and gasp and the same time. He has a six pack but has so many scars. 'I wonder what happened' then I realized that this would've never happened if it wasn't for me kissing Snotlout. We help Valka clean his scars on the front side and then she turns him over and then there is more gasping. He has a dragon tattoo and even more scars.
One hour later
We all staying here waiting for Hiccup to wake up. Valka went to check on the dragons but then came back. We hear a groan and then Hiccup quickly sits up. Valka runs over to him and sits behind him. Pulling his head into her lap.
"Shh shh Hiccup you're okay," she whispers to him and starts stroking his hair as he goes back to sleep.
"Is it okay if we ask you some questions?" Fishlegs asks and she nods
"But first I would like to know all of your names,"
"Astrid Hofferson, Fishlegs Ingerman, Snotlout Jorgenson, and Ruffnutt and Tuffnutt Thorston," I say pointing to each person. She nods telling us to continue.
"Um what happened to Hiccup," Fishlegs asks nervously.
"Well after I found him he trained with the dragons, met the alpha, was captured more than a couple times, defeated Drago Bludvist, Toothless became Alpha, and then he's been trying to stop Ryker and the hunters and setting captured dragons go,"
"Wow he's been through a lot," Fishlegs says, while Valka nods.
I look down, "And it's all my fault," I mutter.
"Astrid I know what happened, but Hiccup wouldn't have found me if it wasn't for you so I'm glad, but I'm not happy that you broke my baby's heart. He has been so heartbroken since and is so cold. He still loves you, you know,"
My head immediately pops up, "HE DOES!" I exclaim.
"Of course he does. He told me he could never love anyone else and is set on being alone his whole life,"
I started crying, "I made a huge mistake, I thought he was cheating on me but he was writing a letter to you when we thought you were dead. I was so heartbroken, I wasn't thinking,"
"Oh my dear, Hiccup will forgive you if you explain," she says and then gets up, laying Hiccup's head gently down on the bed, "Now who wants something to eat," Everyone follows her to get food, everyone except me. I sit down next to the bed .
"I still love, I will always love, and I'm sorry for breaking your heart," I say as tears are stills streaming down my cheeks. I feel warm, strong hands wiping my tears away, stroking my cheeks. I look up to see Hiccup looking at he.
"I love you too and of course I forgive you! I heard what you said to my mom," he says, opening up his arms. I jump into his embrace and kiss him. Oh I've missed him so much. Once the kiss ends, I lay on his chest at we fall asleep.
Valka's POV
Astrid is a good young lady and I hope that Hiccup and her make up. After I give Hiccup's friends food, I walk back into the healers room to check if Hiccup was okay. When I walked in my smile only grew.
Hiccup and Astrid asleep cuddling and holding each other.
