Age: 18, Setting: RTTE, Explosion never happened
Hiccup's POV
It was months after the dragon hunters demise and everything was going smoothly at the Edge. Astrid and my relationship is great and we already told each other's parents and they were over joyed to hear so.
It was night time and I was holding hands with Astrid heading back to our huts. We got to Astrid's hut.
"Good night m'lady" I gave her a deep and passionate kiss on the lips and she returned it.
"Good night babe," she says. I am so happy to have her in my life and I walk to my hut with the biggest smile on my face.
I'm greeted by Toothless and start talking about my relationship with Astrid.
"I don't like Astrid anymore..." I start saying as Toothless gives me a curious look "I love her, but I don't know how to tell her." With that I went to sleep.
Astrid's POV
After Hiccup left my hut I felt lonely so I walked over to his hut to ask him if he was okay with me sleeping here. I over heard Hiccup talking, probably to Toothless before I walked in.
"I don't like Astrid anymore..." I all I heard before I ran back to my hut crying my heart out. I thought he loved my and I loved him, but I didn't know how to tell him. I cried myself to sleep that night and hoping that Hiccup still loved me.
The Next Morning
I woke up, remembering what happened last night. I avoided Hiccup all day, knowing I would burst out into tears if I saw him and his adorable smile and beautiful emerald eyes. I ignored him for a week until he came up to me one night before I walked into my hut.
"Astrid is something wrong? You've been ignoring me and avoiding me all week and I don't know why." He asked. I ignored him and turned away. He gently grabbed my arms and pulled me to face towards him. He used his other hand to raise my chin and look into my eyes.
"Astrid tell me what's wrong" he repeated. I violently yanked my arms from his hand.
"You"
"Me, I am the problem. Why??" He asked in a sad expression.
"I hate you! Leave me alone!" I screamed slamming my hut door and leaving Hiccup out there.
Hiccup's POV
After Astrid yelled those three words my world shattered and my heart broke into a million pieces. I knew I couldn't stay here at the Edge it would be too painful. I decided to go back to Berk and then travel the world just me and Toothless.
I wrote a note to Astrid and the rest of the gang saying I'm sorry for leaving and that I'm going to travel the world with just Toothless.
I wrote their names at the top of each note so they wouldn't get confused and packed all my things and immediately headed to Berk so I would make there by night fall and wouldn't have to explain to the entire village why I'm back.
Astrid's POV
I walk into the club house to see all of my friends, except my ex-boyfriend and the man I still LOVE even after what I said last night. It was getting around noon and he still hadn't showed up.
"Where's Hiccup he should've been here by now and we haven't started training." Snotlout asked getting.
"He's probably flying around with Toothless." Heather responded. Everyone leaving to do their own things.
