CHAPTER 3

"Rise and shine sleeping beauty!" I opened the curtains in Lils room. The sun light streamed into the room in a warm ray of light.

"But don't want to." Lils grumbled into her pillow. I threw back the covers.

"Well your going to. You have school today and your already running late." That got her up. "Oh and Jack is already here. He's in the kitchen." She was now in full swing. She was throwing clothes around trying desperately to find something nice to wear.

"Go downstairs already!" Lils shooed me out of the room waving her hands around.

"Alright alright, I'm going." I walked out of the room and shut the door behind me.

I walked back downstairs to the kitchen. Jack was still sitting at the kitchen table where I had left him. Jack was a nice good looking guy. He was talk and strongly built. His dark curly hair covered his forehead. He was about two months older than Lils.

"Hey, I'm making eggs, do you want any?" I called over my shoulders from the fridge.

"No, I'm ok Molly but thanks. I had breakfast already." I nodded with understanding. Just then Lils came running into the kitchen.

"I'm here!" She exclaimed. She was wearing a simple t-shirt with an oversized red and white plaid shirt on top with black leggings and her Uggs. Her dirty blond hair was up in a messy bun and on her face was her favorite makeup. She was clearly trying to go for that messy cute look.

"Hey." Jack looked at Lils and smiled. I hated his smile. It creeped me out. He looked like he was a crazy person.

"Hey." Lils gave him her most charming smile.

"I told you that you shouldn't have stayed up that late last night." I gave her a knowing look. She held my gaze pleading me to drop the subject. "Eat your eggs so you can get out of here." I handed her a plate of eggs. She took them then sat across from Jack. Jack didn't notice. His eyes were glued to his cell phone screen. I hate it when people do that.

"Phones away, Jack, you know the rules."

"Sorry Molly." He tucked his phone into his back pocket.

"Oh gosh! Look at the time! It's 7:45, your going to be late. Come on everyone to the car."

We ran threw the cold rain to the car. The sky was a gloomy gray overhead.

"Hey Jack, can I barrow your history notes? I kinda lost mine."

"Yea sure Lillian. I don't think mine are going to be helpful though." He said as he handed Lils a piece of paper.

"It's fine. It's better than nothing." She took the paper ad neatly tucked it into her binder. I glanced at them in the rear view mirror. They were so cute when they were together and when they were actually talking.

"Hey I was wondering if you wanted to go roller skating after school today... do you?"

"That would be great!" Lils exclaimed. Woa, this kid was stepping over the boarder line.

"Wait, Lillian, I thought you were going to help me today. We have to go take care of those animals." I raised a knowing eyebrow at her. She met my gaze in the mirror. She knew we had training today.

"I know." She lowered her eyes "But don't you think I need some time off? I never get to go out."

"Never?" I raised my eyebrow again. I honked the horn as some dumb ass truck pulled out in front of me.

"You know what I mean." She glared at me. I couldn't see her but I knew her well enough to know what she was doing when I wasn't looking. That was in the job description.

"I suppose so but I want you back before 6:00."

"Fine." She said quickly before I could change my mind. I glanced in the mirror to see two kids beaming in the backseat.
