CHAPTER 6

I ran back down to the kitchen where Ryan was poring himself a cup of coffee. He must've heard me come scrambling into the kitchen because he said

"The coffee smells great, what brand is it?" He turned toward me and his face quickly changed to a concerned look. "What's wrong?" He rushed to me completely forgetting about ever having coffee.

"Lillian, she's gone."

"What?"

"Lillian, my sister, is not in this house." I was finally starting to calm down and clear my head, letting my instincts start to kick in. "You need to leave. Now." I grabbed my coat and keys off the counter.

"Molly, slow down. Where are you going?"

"The skating rink, I have to go get her. She's probably still there."

"Let me come with you." he followed me out the door.

"No it's fine she probably just lost track of time." I said as I opened my door.

"Well too bad. I am coming with you."

"No, go home." I turned on my heels and promptly walked out the door.

I drove recklessly to the skating rink while sitting in harsh silence. My insides were buzzing as the adrenalin kicked in. I had a million different plans forming in my mind as I pulled into the parking lot with the wheels screeching against the pavement. I rushed to the trunk and opened it. It looked empty but I knew better. I threw back the invisible cover to reveal an assortment of knives, daggers, swords along with other Gifted weapons. I began to arm myself quickly. My heart pounded loudly in my chest. I'm sure whatever is waiting for me inside that building could hear it.

"Please let her be safe." I whispered. I shut the trunk and headed into the gloom.
