Annie's POV:
"Honestly, chipotle has never tasted better." Hayden chuckles as he finished his laugh bite. I only managed to finish half of mine, so I put the lid back on the bowl and stick it into the fridge.
The sun is setting, and my first day back in L.A is almost over. Jimmy went back to their apartment and Mom went to sleep, so it's only Hayden and I still here. We take some chairs and sit on the balcony to watch the sun setting over the city.
We sit down and watch the sun for a few minutes in silence. It isn't awkward, but almost... Soothing.
"I really missed seeing you almost everyday." I admit to Hayden. He blushes.
Wait, what?
Hayden widens his eyes slightly then looks away. I scrunch my eyebrows and shrug it off.
"I did too. A whole month is way too long." He says and we both giggle.
"Well, I should go. It's getting late." Hayden mutters, standing up. I stand up too, and hug him before he leaves. He squeezes my waist before he lets go.
"I'll see you tomorrow morning. Be ready for rehearsals!" He says before he unlocks his room. I sigh as he closes the door behind him. There was something there... A spark,
No. He's your best friend. There's nothing there. It's just the fans comments getting to your head.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
I slowly put the chairs away and unlock our room. By the time I'm inside, the sun as fully gone down and it's almost dark.
I lock our apartment door and head into my room. Hayden is right, this place is amazing. White beds with modern furniture and lots of windows.
I slip under the covers and shut off the lamp.
There's no spark.
Right?THE NEXT DAY
Mom shakes me awake bright and early.
"Annie....Annie...."
I groan and squint my eyes. The camera is in my face, so I gently push it away.
"It's 5 AM. Our second day here and Annie has to go straight to rehearsals. Her and Hayden are singing at the RYH stage just like they did a couple years ago. Buy tickets now before they're sold out!" She says, before I hear the click of the camera turning off.
I slowly stand up out of bed. I pull my hair up into a bun as I walk towards the kitchen. I grab a box of cereal and some milk. But, as soon as I get milk from the fridge, I notice Hayden and Jimmy sitting on the couch.
"Ahh!" I shout, hiding behind the counter.
"I look gross, I just woke up!" I shout from my spot. Jimmy chuckles.
"Oh Annie, it's fine. Just come out!" Hayden says from the couch. I sigh and stand up, covering my face with my hands.
"Oh come on, show that cute wittle face." Hayden insists. I blush behind my hands. When my red cheeks calm down I remove my hands.
"See? Your gorgeous still." Hayden says. Mom agrees with him and jimmy just nods.
"Aren't you glad you've got a family like the Summeralls to help you out?" No says, pointing to them. I blush and pour milk into my cereal. I quickly way up and go to my room to get ready. I do some simple makeup and put on a white T shirt with some comfy grey shorts. I leave my hair natural, wavy.
Lastly, I slip on some adidas. Since its only rehearsals, there's no point in dressing up. I grab my bag and throw my phone and a water bottle inside. I walk out into the living room and everyone stands up to leave. We all walk down to the uber groggily. 5 AM is way too early.
I sit in the very back of the 6 seater car, along with Hayden. We exchange weird faces the whole way there, before I burst out laughing. He starts laughing too, and everyone in the car looks at us like we're insane.
Soon enough, were at the building. We get out of the car and run inside.
"Brrrr, it's cold!" I shiver.
"L.A morning weather." Hayden says, rolling his eyes. He wraps his arms around me, his covered arms warming me up instantly.
"Glad I've got a Summerall handy to warm me up." I chuckle.
Hayden and I are split up to get our microphones and other tech on. Speakers and lights are still being set up.
We get in the stage and a young man shows us what to do on stage.
"Make sure you're not just standing around. You want to always be moving. Maybe look at each other, or touch the fans hands. They love when you do that. And make sure to smile." He insists. He gives us a thumbs up and the music comes on. The colourful screen behind us turns black and the whole room is dark. Suddenly, it's lit up by the lights above us.
Hayden stars off with his verse.
"Ohhhhhhh, ohhhhh ohhh. Hold on to me. Cause I'm a little unsteady. Ohhhhhhh, hold on, hold on to me. Cause I'm a little unsteady.
Little unsteady."He looks into my eyes as the audio continues. Soon enough, it's my turn.
"Momma. Come here. Approach. Appear.
Daddy, I'm alone. Cause this house don't feel like home."I look over at Hayden and grin.
"If you love me, don't let go."We finish off our first rehearsal of the song. The director comes out to critique us.
"Good job guys. We had a couple voice cracks in there, but it's just because you didn't warm up. Other than that, great job. Make sure you guys look at each other lots. The fans will go ballistic." He chuckles. I hate how I have to act lovey dovey with Hayden just for the fans happiness.
Hayden and I do a full voice warm-up before we sing again.
When we're finally back to singing again, Hayden looks at me a lot more. He even pointed a couple times. Each time, butterflies flew in my stomach.
It's just because you're nervous.
Soon enough, it's time for a break.
I chug down some water so my voice doesn't get dry and raspy later. For lunch, mom brought Hayden and I some fruit and sandwiches from some grocery store.
We eat up outside to get some fresh air.
"I seriously can't wait." Hayden says before he bites into a piece of watermelon.
"We've been planning for months. I think this time will be amazing." I grin.
My phone rings from my pocket and I pick it up.
"Hello?" I ask.
"Look behind you." A girl voice says. Hayden and I look behind our shoulders and see Jayden.
"Jayden!" I shriek, and run into her arms. I've been to L.A three times in the past couple months, by each time our schedules have been too busy.
"I couldn't miss my two best friends having their first dress rehearsal. This is gonna be huge!" She insists.
Almost as soon as I pull away from our hug, it's time for me and Hayden to practice again.
We do a quick warm up and sing. This time, we put a bit more power into the song, and it worked out amazingly. The director came out as soon as we were done. He slowly clapped.
"You guys can not get better than that. Put that much power into your voices during the show and everyone will be speechless." He informs us.
Hayden and I both grin.
"Perfect timing. That's a wrap for today! We'll have our dress rehearsal in a day or two. We'll talk to your parents!" The director says before he leaves. We grab our bags and find Jayden. She hugs is both.
"You guys are seriously amazing. I couldn't be more proud. But I have some dance routines to go film. I'll see you guys soon, I promise. For more than an hour next time!" She says as she runs off.
We recollect with out parents and we're off to the apartment building again. Once we get to Hayden's room we all sit down.
"What do you guys want to do?" Jimmy asks.
"I'm seriously tired." I groan, shutting my eyes.
"Really, because there's this 'ice cream taco shop' That I've been dying to try." He asks. I chuckle and groan again.
"I'm tired too. Why don't you and Katie go, and we'll stay and watch movies all day?" Hayden chuckles. The parents nod in agreement and grab their bags.
"Are you sure? You're missing out on some pretty sweet tacos." Mom jokes. I sarcastically roll my eyes and Hayden laughs.
Soon enough, they're gone. And it's just me and Hayden.A whole chapter of just Annie's POV... Oops. Hope you guys enjoyed! Expect another update soon ;)
