Annie's POV:
Hayden and I settle down on my bed with some snacks before we choose a movie.
"What should we watch?" I ask him as he takes a sip of water.
"I don't know." He shrugs.
We scroll through the things on moms Apple box before we come across a untitled folder.
"What's this?" I ask, clicking on it. Suddenly, hundreds of videos pop up on the screen.
"Aw, are these your guys family videos?" He says, pointing to one. I click on it.
"Why is the door open?" Mom says in the video.
"I let piper in!" Hayley says in her adorable toddler voice.
"Why?" Mom asks her.
"Because...she was chewing a bird up!"
The camera points over at piper.
"AHHH! She's still chewing it!" She shrieks and everyone in the house goes crazy.
"Piper! Outside!" I yell in the video.
A couple tears fall from my eyes.
"Caleb, help!"
Hayley says. Piper runs outside and he closes the door.
"Haha, you guys were all screaming." He jokes. The video ends and another one starts playing. I look over at Hayden and he grins.
"You guys were adorable." He says.
Another video plays on the screen.
"MY CINNAMON ROLL!"
Hayden and I laugh.
"I miss being a kid." I sigh.
"Hey! What about meeting me?" He pouts jokingly. I slap his shoulder and he laughs again.
We watch a couple more videos before I notice my eyes getting heavy. I look up at Hayden and see he already fell asleep. Singing actually takes up a lot of energy, especially when you do it back to back.
I finally give in to my body and close my eyes. Within minutes, I'm asleep.LATER
Hayden's POV:
I yawn as I wake up. There's still videos playing on the tv.
I must have fallen asleep. I realize.
I look over at Annie asleep on her pillow. She looks so peaceful.
I smile and slowly stand up so I don't wake her. I go to the living room and pull out my phone. I open up Instagram and start scrolling through my feed.
I stop at one picture. It's a screenshot of today's vlog from Bratayley. It's when me and Annie were reunited, and I'm carrying her. I look down at the caption.
"They're the cutest💞" it reads. I blush for the 100th time.
This time, seeing Annie is... different. I don't know if it's because I haven't see her in a while or because I feel something for her.
Come on. We're not 12 again.
I had a huge crush on Annie when we were younger. But the fans caught on, and I had to let my feelings go. We've been best friends ever since.
I can't let my feelings get in the way. Annie has big things coming up, she won't have time for me. Yet alone my busy schedule for the next few months.
Annie comes out her room and rubs her eyes.
"Hey." I say, putting my phone back in my pocket.
"Hey." She replies, grabbing a water bottle.
"Now what should we do?" She asks after taking a sip.
I shrug.
"Maybe we can go for a walk or something?" I suggest. She's fixes her hair and nods in agreement.
I open the door for her and close it as we both walk out.
Rehearsals went for about five hours, and we watched videos for a good hour or so. We also fell asleep. So by now, it's only around 1:00.
"The concerts coming up so quickly." She admits as we head down the stairs.
"I know. After tomorrow, we'll be back on that stage again." I grin.
"It's crazy how quickly it's going. And after the concert, it's right into filming the music video." She says back.
"I wish we had more free time together." I admit. Annie's cheeks go rosy.
"Annie, I've had this fe-"
In the middle of my sentence, a car comes out of nowhere. Annie screams in shock. The car swerves and just barely missed us. Instead, it stops right before a stop sign.
I run up to the car and punch on the window until the man rolls it down.
"You almost hit us! What's your problem?" I shout at him.
"That wasn't my fault. I lost control trying not to hit that other car in the middle of the road. He's lucky my car isn't damaged." He growls. I glare and walk over to Annie.
"Are you okay?!" I say, pulling her off the ground.
"I'm fine, just a little shaken up. That scared me." She admits with shaky hands.
"It's okay. We're okay." I say, holding her head to my chest.
I glance back at the man in the car talking to the police.
"Let's go." I say, pulling her back in the direction to the hotel.
"Is that guy okay?" She asks me, still shaking from shock.
"Yeah, he's fine. A little angry, but he's fine." I reassure him.
When we get back, dad and Katie are in the Leblanc's apartment.
"Oh my god, we had no idea where you guys went." Ms. Katie says, looking Annie up and down.
"Are you guys okay?" Dad asks me.
"We almost got hit by a car. He swerved and just missed us." I explain. Annie's mom grabs her and holds her tight.
"You guys have to be careful. You could have been seriously hurt!" She says, petting her daughters hair.
"Mom, I'm not 7 years old. It was just a scare, Hayden and I are fine. Even the guy in the car is okay!" She insists.
"Okay honey, just try to stay safe. We can't have you guys hurt for your concert!" She jokes, trying to enlighten the mood. We all laugh nervously.
We order some pizza and eat up. After watching a movie as a whole group, the adults decide to go to their beds.Annie's POV:
It's just me and Hayden. Again.
"Hayden.. You started to say something before the car came. What was it?" I ask him. He puts his hands together and stutters.
"Uh...I uh...um... It's nothing. I forgot." He says, grinning nervously.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Yeah. I totally forgot. It probably wasn't important." He insists.
I have a feeling he is lying. Even if he is, he's not telling me for a reason, and I'll have to deal with that.
"Oh."
"Anyways, we should get some rest. Dress rehearsals tomorrow. You already know that. See you tomorrow!" He says and heads out the door. I take a hug sigh.
What was he going to say?
