Annie's POV:
"You know what? Were going to have a good day. You choose a movie, I'll go make us some snacks, okay?" Jayden says, taking her hand off of my shoulder and going to the kitchen. All o can think of is how close he is to me right now. Just a few walls are separating us.
I choose a random movie, which turned out being Titanic. It's one of Jayden favourites, so I start letting it play.
Moments later, she walks in with an armful of food. Chocolate, popcorn, Doritos, soda, water, she brought everything I could ever eat. She reminds me that there also icecream, but she didn't want it to melt. I never even realized we had all this junk food in the apartment at all.
I never even realized how lovey dovey the titanic movie was until it started playing. Multiple times, we paused it so I could cry. After it happened three times, we decided to just watch spongebob.
"I just don't understand." I say, wiping away a final tear.
"I don't either Annie. I don't either." She says, rubbing my back as I rest my head on her shoulder. I missed having my best friend. But now that I have her back, I lose my boyfriend?

Hayden's POV:
I hate this.
I hate all of this. Whoever this idiot is, I hate them the most. They're the reason I broke up with Annie.
Despite what she must think, it wasn't just because of her friendship with Jayden. Of course, I feel horrible for being the reason they're fighting, but I wouldn't hurt Annie when she doesn't need me to.
This person.. Whoever has been texting and calling me... They know our secrets. And I can't let them get out. It could ruin Annie's life.
So, I was blackmailed. Break up with Annie or let her dark family secrets out. And because I love her, I had to break up with her.
But now, it's taking everything in me to not walk over to her apartment and beg for her back. I saw Jayden's snapchat, and that she's with Annie. I'm happy for her; at least she has her best friend to help her through this.

Later that night...

My eyes hurt. I'm still awake, staring at the ceiling. My dad isn't home, but I know he's out doing something. As each moment passes, the urge to run to her becomes stronger.
Screw it.
I hop out of my bed and outside of my dark apartment. Annie's mom is with my dad, so I know it's just her. I knock repeatedly on the door, praying that she'll open it.
Finally, she answers.
"Hayden." She says, shocked. She quickly rubs tears away from her eyes as I look down at her.
I don't even know what to say. I just stand there, watching her.
"Hayden, are you going to say something?" She asks, her voice breaking.
"Why did you do this?" She whispers, crying again. I'm crying myself. I can't tell her about the blackmailing.
"I love you." I say. She shuts her eyes, closing the door. A tear slowly falls down my cheek, which I quickly wipe away.
I tell her about the blackmailing, she's hurt from the secrets she doesn't know about. I date her again, the secrets get out.
I let her be and break her heart, she never has to know.

Annie's POV:
"He was here. He didn't even say anything." I sob to Jayden. She rubs my back.
"Somethings up, Annie. I could tell by his face. He was hurt too." Jayden tells me. I sniffled, looking up at her to contemplate her idea.
"Are you sure?" I ask her.
"I'm sure. He wouldn't hurt you just so we could be friends again." She replied, shaking her head as she thinks.
Suddenly, Jaydens phone stars ringing. It's her mom.
"Hello?" She says into the phone.
I can hear her mom talking into the phone, but can't tell what she's saying.
"Okay. Okay, I'll be there soon." She says, hanging up directly after.
"I have to go. I'll come back tomorrow, okay? Get some rest." She says, giving me a tight hug. I nod as she gets up, walking over to the door.
"And Annie?" She says before closing it.
"Yeah?" I wipe yet another tear away.
"I missed having my best friend." She grins, then closes the door. She's right; I missed her too. But now that I have her, I lost someone else dear to me.
I know I'm going to be alone for at least a few more hours, and I'm not going to get any rest. I just let sponge on continue playing and try to tune out my thoughts by focusing on it.
I miss him already.
