Annie's POV:
I wake up in Hayden's arms and smile.
I grab my phone and check the time. 8:06. Slowly, I slip out of Hayden's grip and stand up. I go into my bathroom and change into a black t-shirt dress with white stripes and my adidas shoes. When I leave my room, I find Hayley and Paige singing as they pack their bags in the living room. Sadly, both of them are leaving tonight.
"You seem happy." Hayley says, turning down the music. I nod as I sip a glass of water. Suddenly, Hayden comes out of my room.
"Morning." He says to me, planting a kiss on my cheek. Hayley doesn't seem bothered, but Paige's jaw drops. She pulls me aside.
"What was that?" She says, pointing to Hayden.
"Nothing happened, I would never. I was having a bad night and asked him to stay." I say, putting my hands up. She sighs.
"Phew. Okay." Paige goes back to packing.
I hug Hayden from behind while he starts making his coffee.
"Want to go out for breakfast? On me." I suggest. Hayden nods as he sips his coffee. I wait for Hayden to finish his coffee, then we head out of the apartment. We decide to walk to a small local restaurant that specializes in breakfast. We walk in and I'm hit by the smell of bacon and maple syrup.
An older woman seats us in a booth near the back.
"What can I get you kids?" She says, pulling out her notebook. Hayden orders eggs and bacon, and I get oatmeal with fruit. Everything is normal, until I see Jayden. She is seated alone in the booth just beside ours, where she instantly spots us. The restaurant is busy, and she's in the last empty table.
"Hayden, Jayden is sitting right over there." I mutter, leaning closer. He sneakily looks over before looking at me again.
"How many times is this going to happen?" He mutters as he sits up. Just as I look over one last time, Jayden locks her gaze on mine. I quickly hide my face, but she knows it's me. I hear her angry scoff.
"Just ignore her. It'll be fine." Hayden whispers, and Jayden stands up suddenly, stomping over to our table.
"Got something to say?" She says, loudly slamming her hands in the table. Almost everyone in the restaurant turns their heads and goes silent.
"Jayden, not here." I hiss under my breath.
"Oh no, I think we can talk here. We've already got the audience. You get the centre of attention, like always." She says in a voice everyone can hear.
"Stop it Jayden." Hayden replies, glaring. She looks hurt by his words; after all, this is all happening because she likes my boyfriend.
Jayden shoots me one last angry glare before she stomps back to her table. Everyone in the restaurant turns and whispers. Suddenly, a couple young girls come up to our table.
"Can we take a picture with you guys?" A tall girl with blonde hair asks. Just before I say no, that we were just leaving, Hayden grins and nods. I take an uncomfortable picture with the fans and wait as they walk off.
Hayden calls over the waitress.
"Could we get our food to go?" He asks her quietly. She nods.
"Normally we don't allow it, but after that scene, I'll let you kids go." She says, handing us our food in small white foam boxes. I insist on paying and give the waitress a big tip because of our troubles caused. She grins as we leave.
"What a way to start our morning." Hayden groans as we start the short walk back to the apartments. Once were inside, we sit at the bar stools in the kitchen and eat our food.
"Back so soon?" Paige questions as she zips up her last suitcase. Knowing Paige, she overpacked.
"We ran into Jayden." Hayden tells her before he takes another bite of his food.
"And? She's your guys friend." Hayley says back.
"Yeah... Well, she kind of hates us. She likes Hayden, and I apparently stole him from her." I tell them, explaining the whole story.
"So that's why you guys didn't talk at the beach." Paige realizes.
"She made a huge scene at the restaurant because she sat in the table right next to ours. Everyone there heard her." I say, pushing my food around with my fork.
"Well, that probably wasn't a great start to your day."Hayden's POV:
I nod, agreeing with what Paige said:
When we finish our food, they're ready to go to the airport. I hug Hayley, Billy and Paige goodbye while Annie's mom films.
"See you soon!" I say, winking at the camera. Ms. Katie laughs.
Once they're gone, the apartment is silent. No more blaring music from Paige and singing from Hayley. No more business talk from Billy. Now, it's just me and Annie chatting while Katie cleans quietly.
While me and Annie are mid-debate in whether or not whales are cute, Annie's phone goes off.
"It's from Jayden.." She says, unloving her phone.
J- I'm done with you Annie. You broke my heart.
Annie quickly replies.
A- Jayden really? You're going to ruin our friendship all because I'm dating Hayden?
J- You knew I've liked Hayden for like a year, then you went and kissed him and now you're dating. and you didn't even tell me!!!
A- First off, Hayden kissed me. I didn't know it was going to happen. Second, we're dating because we both feel something. Sorry to break it to you Jayden, but you like Hayden and he doesn't like you back.
Jayden Bartels has blocked you.A slightly shorter chapter today, only because I'm rushed. I'm going camping in a couple hours, so I'll have no wifi for two days. I try and write while in camping so I'll have stuff to upload when I'm back!
