Kelsey ended up sitting outside watching her friends fly around playing Quidditch with other students, just having fun in general. Every once in awhile, she would yell the points out, laughing when the loosing team would groan.
"Hello Kelsey!" Two voices said at the same time. Kelsey turned around to see the twins waving at her.
"Hullo boys." She said still watching the game. "I'm being a referee." She said a matter-o-factly.
"Ah. I didn't know that, did you Georgie?"
"No Freddikins, I didn't." Kelsey chuckled and decided to call out the score.
"Team Orange, 150, Team Purple 180!" She yelled. Karkat and Jackson groaned hitting their heads on their brooms. The rest of their team was yelling about someone cheating. Kas and Amanda high fived Arthur and the rest of their team. "The snitch is still flying around ladies! Come on this isn't the muggles football! We are still playing!" The groups quickly stood at attention and continued going.
"Football?" George asked as the boys plopped down on either side of her.
"Where they kick the ball into the netted things. I watched a bit with aunt Andromeda in a muggle pub." She replied. "The Americans call it soccer. But they appeared to be better than the English during the game we watched." She sat up a bit more and squinted. Grabbing the broom next to her she looked at the boys. "Can one of you help me up? I'm a bit weak when it comes to walking at this point." The twins grinned and helped her stand up. "Thank you!" She said pushing off.
"No problem!" They replied simultaneously. Kelsey flew up and whistled loudly.
"Time out!" She yelled. The teams groaned and remained in their places. "Kas come here for a moment." Kas tensed and flew over. She gripped his chin and looked at his eyes. They were similar to that of his animagus form. "Really?" She whispered scoldingly. He sighed and let them go back to his normal eyes, huffing a bit. "Twenty points will be awarded to Team Orange." She yelled flying back down. She landed unsteadily, the twins kind of catching her. "Thanks."
"PLAY QUIDDITCH YOU SORRY SAPS!!" George yelled. The teams looked confused.
"YEAH PLAY LIKE ITS REAL QUIDDITCH!" Fred added equally loud.
"THEY MEAN TIME IN!" She shouted and the teams started flying around again. "Honestly, it's like you two don't know anything about Quidditch." She said in mock disappointment.
"OI!" They shouted making her laugh.
Arthur's head snapped over in her direction, watching her laugh at the Weasly twins who both looked mildly offended. He felt a protective urge come over him and he had to focus on the game instead of holding her like a teddy bear and taking her away from the twins. He caught a flash of gold and smirked. He was the seeker and had been relying on Kas to point it out for him but Kas had been more focused as the bludgers attacked more frequently. He grinned and dove for the practice snitch, alerting Arlo, the orange team's seeker. The snitch whizzed around, flitting between his fingers, taunting him. He made a grab for it and grinned as he felt the smooth surface in his hand, wiggling a bit.
Then he felt himself falling. He reached up to grab his broom but it was too far away. No no no no no no.... Then he felt an arm grab him and put him gently in the ground. Kelsey rolled off her broom and hissed poking her leg. "YOU IDIOT ARE YOU TRYING TO GET YOURSELF KILLED!" She yelled, hair turning bright red along with her eyes.
"No, but the snitch was there and I-!"
"REACHED FOR A PRACTICE SNITCH AND FELL OFF YOUR BLOODY BROOM OVER A GAME! YOU COULD HAVE DIED YOU IDIOT!" She yelled from her position on the grass, trying to stand up. "AND YOU'RE LUCKY I HAD WHAT MUGGLES CALL AN ADRENALINE RUSH AND MANAGED TO STAND UP AND JUMP ON A BROOM TO SAVE YOUR ARSE! BUT OF COURSE NOW THAT I WANT TO CLOBBER YOU, I CAN'T BLOODY WELL STAND UP!"
Arthur was listening intently the whole time and nodded fearfully as she yelled about him being more careful. Finally she coughed a bit and looked up at the other people up there. "Purple team won. Game's over." Orange team groaned and Purple team let out celebratory whoops.
"BYE KELSEY!" The twins yelled waving. Kelsey gave them a short wave, still glaring fiercely at Arthur. "He's a goner." Amanda, Jackson, Karkat and Kas landed and looked between the two who were sitting on the ground, one looking quite upset and the other fearful.
"Exploding snap?" Karkat suggested to the other three. They nodded fervently and the four ran inside. "Talktoyouguysatdinnerbyyyyyyyyyyye!"
Kelsey continued glaring and then sighed, laying down on the grass. "Don't do that again." She closed her eyes, but her fidgeting with her wand made it known that she was awake.
Arthur looked surprised that that was the end of the scolding. He got up and sat next to her. Making her raise an eyebrow but not open her eyes. He looked around awkwardly. "Hey Kelsey?"
"Yes, Arthur?" She asked still not opening her eyes. He mumbled something to lowly for her to hear. "Arthur you'll have to speak up a bit."
"Can I play with your hair?" He asked quietly making her open one eye. He was a bit red and looking away from her.
"Sure. Do you mind if it changes colors?" She asked him sitting up. He shook his head and she nodded. "I'm tired so let's go underneath a tree because it's shady and cooler." He pulled her up and the two walked with their brooms, (Arthur's had come down after a lot of summoning charms), to a large Sakura (Japanese cherry) tree. It reminded Kelsey of her mother and fathers house, watching the Sakura cherry blossoms fall into a large blanket of white/pink covering the ground, the light smell surrounding the area.
Arthur watched her eyes turn a light blue as she looked at the tree. She shook her head and it turned to a darker blue when she looked at him. "Come on." Kelsey smiled, making him sit down, legs crisscrossed, underneath the sakura tree. Arthur looked up at the bare branches, a darker wood than most other trees, making the shorter pieces look like fingers, grabbing the sky. Kelsey put her head on his thigh and closed her eyes. The black looked even darker now. Arthur tentatively ran his hand through her hair, surprised by its softness.
As he played with it, pulling it a bit and running his hand through it, Kelsey's breathing deepened and she was lulled into a dreamless sleep, surrounded by silver. And it was nice.
