Kelsey woke up in an unfamiliar room, that was filled with her belongings. The light was just fading from the sky outside her window.
"Kelsey? Are you up?" She froze and looked towards the door. "Kelsey it's almost night, you need to get ready."
"Go away!" Remus sighed outside the door. "I want Sewious!" Kelsey fumed and hid in her closet.
"Kelsey you need to lock your door. Just in case something happens." Kelsey locked the door with a soft click. "I'll see you in the morning. Goodnight." Remus called.
"Goodnight." She whispered looking at the night sky as the moon rose into the air. A weird feeling went through her body as she looked at it. Her back seemed to break making her whimper in pain, and her teeth sharpened. She blacked out from the world and in a sleep like manner, released her hold on her body.
In her place was the uncontrollable wolf like creature. It growled and ran into things clawing and scratching. A searing pain in its mind made it claw at itself as well. Looking out the window it howled in agony.
In the morning Kelsey woke up exhausted with dozens of scratches all over her. Getting dressed she hugged her stuffed dragon and watched the world from her window.
A knock on her door brought her out of her trance. "Kelsey?" Remus called from the other side of the door. Walking over and unlocking it, Kelsey stared up at the tired young man who was also covered in scratches.
"Am I going to Aunt Andy's? I'm tired." Kelsey asked, rubbing her eyes a bit.
"Yes, yes you are. Do you want something to eat before you go?" Remus nodded, picking her up. She shook her head and rested against the tired werewolf. "Are you sure? I can make you some...cereal? Never mind it's better that you eat there anyways." Remus sighed.
"Wemus, does Sewious get a twial? Mommy used to tell me that if you did something bad you had a twial." Kelsey yawned. "But Sewious didn't do anything so does he get a twial?"
"I don't know Kelsey." Remus sighed again apparating to Andromeda's house. "Hey."
"You two look terrible. Come sit down for a minute. I made pancakes." Andromeda greeted, ushering the two into the house. "I'm guessing she is indeed a werewolf."
"Yup. I have teeth and a dog nose. And ears." Kelsey mumbled sleepily.
"I bet you do." Andromeda smiled. Kelsey motioned that she wanted to be put down and climbed up onto a chair. Andromeda put a plate with two pancakes and some bacon in front of her. She yawned thank you and began puncturing the pancakes. "Do you want syrup?"
Kelsey nodded. "Remus you sit down too. Little Kelsey and I can't eat all of these by ourselves!" Andromeda beamed forcing him to sit down. "You're too skinny!" She huffed putting three pancakes and a mound of bacon on his plate. "Coffee? Tea?"
"Coffee please." Remus smiled eating, like a rabbit I might add. Nibbling. How does anyone get full while eating like that? I mean I eat like I'm never going to eat again but I have a fast metabolism so I have to eat a lot, but that's besides the point! Remus ate like a rabbit instead of a wolf! It's ridiculous!
"Kels what would you like? Kelsey. Kelsey honey are you awake?" Andromeda asked. Kelsey was currently head on the table with her mouth slightly open, a bit of bacon in her left hand. "Well I guess she's going down for a nap." Andromeda chuckled.
"Yeah. First time always is rough." Remus chuckled airily, FINALLY finishing his first pancake.
"I'll be right back. You finish that food while I'm putting her down." Andromeda pointed her finger sternly. The canis lupus nodded, quickly eating three pieces of bacon. She smiled and took the little girl to her room.
Remus sighed and rubbed his eyes. "One month? I don't think I'll last a week. Sirius what were you thinking? I can't take care of a kid."
"Well you're gonna." Remus looked up to see Andromeda's stern face looking down at him. "Sirius said he wanted YOU to take care of her for a reason. So YOU are going to take care of her for at least a month or whatever it was. I will take her during the day when you're working or whatever, or you can drop her off with your father. But you will spend every moment after you pick her up watching and nurturing her. If you decide after a month that you can't do this, then I will take her in."
"I understand, but-"
"No buts! Now finish your breakfast and go. I'm visiting the Weasly's today. And then tomorrow I would like to know if I can take her to a party with me."
"Sure. Who's it for?" Remus asked between bites.
"One of my friends from my Hogwarts days has a son around Kelsey's age. So for his sisters birthday party, I asked if I could bring Kelsey and see if they liked each other." Andromeda explained giddily. Remus raised an eyebrow. "Well she's going to need a friend when she goes to Hogwarts, and the twins are a year older than her! Kaspien however was born on June first. When was Kelsey born?"
The two adults stared at each other for awhile. "My birfday is July forst." Kelsey was standing in the doorway with a sleepy look on her face and one hand holding her dragon, the other rubbing her eyes. "Who's Kaspien?"
"One of my friends children. Are you fine with meeting him tomorrow at a party?" Andromeda smiled. Kelsey looked at Remus.
"Did Wemus say I could go? Sewious said to listen to Wemus if he couldn't take cawe of me." She asked getting into her chair where her food was still laid out. Climbing up she proceeded to eat the food.
"Remus?" Andromeda asked looking smugly at the werewolf who was kind of confused by the girl's statement.
"Sure. Just no biting or scratching. Otherwise you could, you know, turn someone into a werewolf." Remus told her. Kelsey nodded and ate her bacon thoughtfully.
"So I can punch and kick still?"
