Chapter 5 Truths

"Remus, who was he?!" Sirius growled as they apparated to Andromeda's house. "Remus, Merlin forbid ANSWER ME!"

"That was Fenir Greyback." Remus told him calmly, looking away from one of his best friends. "And he scratched and bit Kelsey. Hard enough to draw blood."

"What are you saying Moony?" Sirius asked in a low voice.

"That we have to wait and see. On the full moon, you will take her to a room and give her the wolfsbane potion. Make sure you are able to watch, but are safe." Remus walked towards the front door. Feeling a hand on his shoulder, he looked to see his friend, an unreadable expression on his face.

"Remus this little girl is one of the only things that make me happy. If she gets injured or dies because of me, I will never forgive myself. If I die-"

"Sirius don't think like that."

"-or something happens to me, I want you to take care of her. Even if it's for a month, please take care of her. Then give her to James and Lily if you need to." Sirius looked dead serious [PUN INTENDED ], staring straight into Remus's eyes.

"I will, Padfoot." Remus whispered. Sirius nodded and let go of his shoulder and the two walked into the house. Ted Tonks was home now and was making funny jokes with Kelsey, who had a few bandages on. Sirius frowned when he saw the band aids.

"SEWIOUS!" Kelsey yelled running over, making Sirius smile and pick her up squeezing her. "Hey Sewious?"

"Yes, little Dragon?" He asked, using his nickname for her.

"Why do you look so SEWIOUS!?" Kelsey laughed, making Andromeda, Ted and Remus burst out laughing.

"You can't even begin to realize how proud I am right now." Sirius chuckled. Kelsey stuck out her tongue at him, making him stick him tongue out at her. She giggled and the other adults, we are excluding Sirius from this, smiled at the two who were making funny faces at each other.

"Alright, well we are going to go. Thanks for everything Andromeda. See you tomorrow!" Sirius told them. Andromeda and Ted nodded and gave Kelsey a hug goodbye. She turned to Remus and asked Sirius to put her down.

"Moony, you go to sleep. It is a fewll moon tomorwow." Kelsey told him, giving him a hug. Remus gave Sirius a questioning look, before giving Kelsey a small smile.

"Thank you Kelsey. I'll go to sleep early tonight." Remus said, making Kelsey nod and run back to Sirius. After waving goodbye, the two apparated back to the apartment, shutting the door behind them. Kelsey was fighting to stay awake as she got dressed in her pajamas. After tucking the tired girl into bed, Sirius made himself some food.

"Merlin!" Sirius cursed, pulling his hand back from the stove. "That bloody hurt!" Getting a few materials from the closet, he put some medicine on his burn. Scraping the food out of the pan onto a plate, he grabbed a fork and stabbed the vegetables. Chewing slowly he watched the clock tick slowly.

"..We have to wait and see."

"..He scratched and bit Kelsey. Hard enough to draw blood."

Finishing his food, Sirius placed his plate in the sink and went to check up on Kelsey. He cracked open the door, poking only his head in. Kelsey was curled up in a little ball on the tiny bed James and Lily had loaned him for until she got old enough to sleep in a regular bed. In her arms was the tiny stuffed dragon she had brought with her. A frown was on her face as she slept, making Sirius chuckle and take a muggle photo of her.

Closing the door again, Sirius walked into his room and collapsed on his bed sighing. Getting into bed after changing into his pajamas, he stared at the ceiling. 'I feel so..on edge.'

The next morning Sirius was woken up by Kelsey jumping on his bed. "SEWIOUS WAKE UUUUP! Double Door is here!" She yelled. Sirius groaned and sat up slowly to see the little girl glaring at the door. "I don't like him." She mumbled, before dragging Sirius out of bed. "I'm hungry! Pwease make eggs!"

"Hi hungry, I'm Sirius." He laughed. Dumbledore waved to Sirius. "Sir." Sirius nodded in greeting. "Would you like some eggs?"

"No, no thank you I just ate before I came over. I need to discuss an urgent matter with you. It can wait until after Ms. Hamilton gets her food though." He smiled kindly at the little girl, who in return glared at him.

"I don't like you." She growled, before going into the kitchen. Wow straight forward isn't she.

"Kelsey!" Sirius exclaimed. "I'm sorry sir, she's probably just grumpy because she hasn't eaten."

"It's quite alright, Sirius." Dumbledore laughed.

Sirius smiled back politely and went in the kitchen to make some eggs. "Sewious, sowmething bad is gonna happen." Kelsey told him not looking at him. "I Wanna see Hairy."

"We'll see them later today. Now go apologize to Dumbledore." Sirius told her sternly. She shook her head.

"I told the twuth. Why showld I say sowy?" Kelsey faced him, her hair turning slightly red. "I don't like him. He's not telling the twuth! He's hiding something!" She yelled, her eyes turning bright red with her hair.

"You were being rude to him! And he is helping protect Harry and James and Lily from the people that attacked you last night! Go apologize!" Sirius yelled back. Kelsey glared and walked out of the kitchen. Sirius sighed and finished making the eggs. Kelsey meanwhile was packing her bag in the room. She walked out and glared at Dumbledore.

"I'm sowy that I don't like you. But you failed." Kelsey growled. "Whewe's Hairy?"

"I can't tell you Ms. Hamilton. I think Sirius has finished your eggs." Dumbledore smiled, making Kelsey's glare darken. She walked into the kitchen saying thank you for the eggs.

"Did you apologize?" Sirius asked, an eyebrow raised.

"Yes." She mumbled eating the eggs a frown still on her face. "I still don't like him."

"Kels, why are you being so difficult today?" Sirius sighed rubbing his face. "Can you please be good for me today? I'm tired."

"Something happened. Ask whewe Hairy es." She told him finishing her plate of eggs and putting it in the sink. "Or Lily. Or James."

"I have to talk to him about other stuff, you can see them later at dinner. Andromeda is coming to pick you up. Be ready to go." Sirius sighed, standing up and going to get dressed. Kelsey sighed and went to her room. Sitting down in front of her dragon, she sighed again.

"We're going to be alone again."
