"Kelsey! Could you come here for a second?" Remus called from the living room. Kelsey sighed and stopped making her peanut butter pie.
"Moony I'm in the middle of making the pie!" Kelsey shouted.
"Just for a second then you can go back to your pie making." Remus replied. Kelsey sighed again and walked out of the kitchen.
"Alright Remus, I'm coming." She said. "What was so imp-" she stopped in her tracks staring at the door. Arthur and his mum were smiling widely at her and waving. "Arty!" She exclaimed and hugged him. Arthur noted that her hair was tied up and she smelled like peanut butter and chocolate.
"Hello!" He said in reply making his mum aw. "Oh be quiet mum."
"Nice to see you too Victoria." Kelsey said hugging the older woman. Victoria smiled and hugged her back.
"Well thank Remus for this. He invited us over, insisting that you didn't have any big plans." Victoria told her. Kelsey shot Remus a look that meant more than words and he returned it with a nod.
"I guess he gets a bigger slice of pie then." She smirked. "Arthur would you like to help?" She asked, letting him know with her eyes that he didn't have to.
"Sure. Then I can see what smells so good." He said and the two walked back to the kitchen, leaving the adults to talk.
"What's that?" Arthur said, pointing to the dish in the oven.
"Roasted chicken with sage and lemon. I'm also making steaks." She said pointing to the meat in a plastic bag.
"Why are they in a bag?" He asked. Kelsey smiled and picked on bag up.
"They're marinating. The seasoning mixes with the juices in the meat and soaks into it making it more flavorful." She said. "You could always enchant it to do that, but it's more fun and I think it tastes better if you put more effort into it."
"Really? Do you think the house elves do it like this?"
"No actually. At least, not the house elves at Hogwarts. But they know how to make the best chocolate mousse and even if I asked, that would be the one thing they wouldn't tell me. It's better left a secret anyways." Kelsey shrugged. Arthur chuckled and spotted a bowl of light brown creamy stuff in a bowl.
"What's that?" He asked smelling it.
"The peanut butter pie. I'm glad I didn't start mixing it when you guys walked in and I was only starting to pour it, otherwise it would be ruined." She made a phew sound and returned to the bowl. "Arthur can you hand me the tin over there? I'm going to pour it and put it in the fridge to set."
The two continued working together to make different foods, and Arthur learned how to make muffins and sear steak properly.
"Can you let them know that the food is ready and that they need to make their plates? I'm going to finish making the pie." She said pulling out the tan colored pie.
"Sure." He smiled and went to see Remus chatting nicely and explaining how to use the television. "Dinner's ready. Come and make your plates." He said making Remus look up.
"We'll be there in a minute. I'm teaching your mother how to use the remote."
"What's a remote?"
Kelsey finished adding the decorations to the cake and smiled. "OI! Dinner isn't going to serve itself! Well it could but I don't need you guys to get lazy on me."
"Kelsey! Look! There are muggles on the television trying to predict the weather!" Arthur exclaimed. Kelsey sighed and walked out there pulling out her best Andromeda look. "Isn't it funny? I mean l- what did I do?"
"Why do you sound like that? It's just - oh." Victoria said looking at Kelsey who looked like she was about to pull them by their ears to the kitchen. Remus smiled sheepishly at Kelsey and got up.
"So... Dinner! Thank you for making dinner! Let's go and make our plates!" Remus said politely, the other two agreeing and standing. Remus gave Kelsey a smile and a hug and Victoria gave Kelsey a smile. Arthur was apologizing profusely and Kelsey rolled her eyes.
"Arthur..."
"I'm really sorry! I was going to get them!"
"Arthur."
"But the television is so fascinating! I mean it's-" he was cut off by Kelsey kissing him on the lips.
"Arthur go wash your hands and get your plate of food before it gets cold." She said going past him to the tv. Arthur nodded and walked into the kitchen beat red. Victoria eyed him and smirked.
"Why is your face so red Arthur?" She asked as she plated some chicken. Remus played a steak and some mashed potatoes next to her and looked up curiously at the boy.
"No reason!" He said in a high pitched voice as he washed his hands. He dried them on a towel and got a plate. The sounds from the television ceased and Kelsey walked in. She took off apron and washed her hands.
"I'll take out the pie once we've eaten the actual food." She said grabbing a plate. Arthur got even more red when her arm brushed against his.
"Alright Remus and I are done. You two can get your food now!" Victoria grinned pulling Remus out of the kitchen.
Arthur was avoiding eye contact with Kelsey as he scooped mashed potatoes onto his plate. He thought about the kiss and what would happen because of it. How could he break it to her? Oh Merlin, what would everyone else say? Oh dear oh dear oh de- "Arthur I think you've got enough potatoes there." He looked down and saw a huge mound on his plate.
"Sorry!" He exclaimed, making Kelsey smile. She scooped some of his onto hers and put a bit back so that he had his desired amount. He stared at her as she did this, lost in thought. Then he realized she was talking to him. "What?"
"Steak or chicken? Or a bit of both?" She asked him slowly, raising an eyebrow.
"Bit of both please."
"Anything else?" She asked cautiously. He shook his head.
"No thank you." Arthur leaned in and kissed her before walking out leaving her bright red.
Victoria and Remus were talking about wedding details for the two and creating a guest list, when Arthur sat down. "What are you two discussing?"
"Your wedding. Anyways, do you think we should plan for a lot of people?" She turned back to Remus who frowned.
"What counts as a lot of people?"
