Kelsey slowly got better and was in all of her classes after the Sakura tree day. And although neither will admit it until the other does, Arthur and Kelsey missed sleeping in the infirmary with each other. Eventually it was the full moon again, making both Kelsey's friends and Professors worried. Snape had given her wolfsbane and a warning to make it last.
The shrieking shack had been fixed up so that nobody got suspicious and decided to check it out. Kelsey had decided to stay as a German Shepard and walked with Arthur for most of the day. She really didn't like strangers trying to pet her and Arthur had to pull her away from the poor person who tried to pet her more than once. They were lucky it was on a weekend again, otherwise it would've been harder to explain why Kelsey wasn't in her classes. It was hard enough to explain why there was a dog, period.
"Is that a dog?" Ron asked while sitting next to Harry and Hermione, who has insisted that the boys study. Ever since there little escapade on Halloween the three were inseparable.
"No there's no way that's a dog, Ronald! I mean really there's absolutely no chance that there is a- oh it is a dog." She said, positively confused by the dog that the other Malfoy was talking too.
"Oh it's Malfoy's. Probably payed someone to let it go on campus." Ron huffed. Harry looked genuinely excited though.
"It's a German Shepard!" Harry exclaimed. He stood up and started to walk closer despite Hermione telling him that it may not be friendly.
Arthur was trying to figure out a name for Kelsey. "Fluffy?"
"Are you mad?" She replied in his head.
"Spot?" She gave him a dirty look. "Potter?" Arthur said looking past Kelsey to Harry walking up shyly.
"What?" She asked looking around to see Harry waving shyly. She felt slightly happy that he was coming this direction and could remember baby Harry loving when Sirius would turn into a dog.
"Hullo Potter!" Arthur smiled. "What brings you towards us?" Harry looked towards Kelsey.
"I was wondering how you got a German Shepard. And what her name is." He said politely.
"Ah, a friend needed a home for her and she was tearing up couches because I wasn't home. I still haven't been able to find a suitable name for her yet." Kelsey glared at him when he mentioned the couches. She bumped Harry's hand, grabbing his attention. He smiled and rubbed her head. Arthur looked like a cross between jealous and amazed. "Wow she let you pet her. Just a moment ago she was trying to bite someone for asking to pet her."
Harry smiled and rubbed Kelsey's head which made her happy. Being a dog was so much fun. "I think she's a big sweetheart." Kelsey gave Arthur a look.
"Ha. Someone thinks I'm a sweetheart." She told him.
"Potter do you think you could help me out with a name? She's been barking a clear no at me all day with every name I try." Arthur asked. Harry grinned brightly and looked at her and looking into her eyes.
"Sure!" He said, looking at her as though studying her movements. "How about Dawn? She seems like a Dawn." Kelsey yipped and nudged him.
"Yup I like dawn. Dawn dawn Dawny dawn. That's me." She told Arthur excitedly. Arthur chuckled.
"Definitely suits her. Thanks a bunch Potter!" Arthur told him. Harry scratched between Kelsey's ears.
"No problem! She's a pretty dog." He said, turning around to look back at his friends. "I have to go study. When is she going to be here and for how long?" Arthur looked at Kesley.
"Probably on the weekends. For sure on full moons because my mum has to help out with her friends and she can't watch Dawn." Arthur explained. Harry nodded and gave Kelsey one last scratch. She nudged him and whined a bit.
"Arthur I wanna spend time with my adoptive cousin." She whined as Harry walked away. "Well, he's like a cousin. Or a nephew since Sirius was more of a brother and Lily and James were the cousins." She rambled on and on about how she was confused at whether Harry was more like a cousin or a nephew. Or would he be considered a second cousin? She didn't know!
Arthur chuckled as they walked around to where they were supposed to meet up with the rest of the group. Amanda was already there and was reading under a tree. Jackson had kinda let everything slip while the two were arguing so now Amanda was part of the full knowledge of everything gang. She even made Jackson carry her around the forest on his back as a Unicorn, which made the centaurs mad.
She laid her head in Amanda's lap on top of her book making her jump. Kelsey barked in laughter. Arthur grinned as Amanda scolded Kelsey for drooling a bit on her book. Kelsey barked. "Arthur did you two decide on a name yet? I can't just call her dog!" Amanda asked him, leaving Kelsey took look shameful and give them puppy eyes.
"Dawn. We decided on Dawn." Arthur replied. Kelsey perked her ears up at the name. "She kept playing with Harry until he picked out a name." Kelsey frowned inwardly at his tone.
"Are you jealous of the fact that I get to be a dog Arty?" She said with a grin in her voice. Arthur shook his head.
"No." He said simply sitting down. Kel- Dawn padded over to him and laid on his legs. He tried to push her off but she stubbornly stayed put. "Daaaaaaawn my legs are loosing feeling." He whined. She snorted and rolled over, and laid on the grass instead.
"OI is that Kas?" Amanda pointed to a bird circling above them. Kelsey barked loudly making Kas swoop down into a tree. Human Kas jumped down from the tree and smiled nicely. "Hello!"
"Hello Amanda. Arthur and.....?" Kas gestured to Kelsey.
"Dawn." Arthur said calmly.
"Nice. Did you pick that out or did you ask someone else?" Kas asked raising an eyebrow. Dawn barked twice. "Ah. Let me guess, you tried to bite a whole bunch of people for petting you." Dawn put her head down and Arthur laughed at her.
"Awe is Dawny Wawny ashamed?" He asked her. She lightly bit his hand, careful not to break the skin. Arthur laughed as Kas and Amanda immediately started scolding the two of them. Amanda scolded Dawn and Kas scolded Arthur.
A fox ran out of the Forrest and jumped on Kelsey. It bit her playfully and ran off making her run after it. "Merlin! That was Karkat!" Kas exclaimed saw a disgruntled Jackson chasing after the two of them.
"Hello guys! Can one of you help me catch them?!" Jackson shouted and barely avoided a tree. "Hello Dear!" He called to Amanda. Amanda blushed and waved to him.
"Awe cinnamon roll love." Arthur cooed. Amanda and Jackson turned bright red. Dawn barked at Karkat who had turned into a human again.
"Hi guys!" He called turning his back on Dawn. "I hear Dawn is her name? You have someone else pick it out?" He asked Arthur who turned red again. Dawn jumped onto the unsuspecting Karkat. Sitting on his back wagging her tail, she barked in triumph.
"That would be a yes."
