Cynthia's POV
Cynthia Renee Montgomery just 17 years old with her whole life ahead of her.
I lived in a large mansion-like lake house in a small town named RedWater Bridge, we moved here two summers ago for my Dad's job, my Mom wanted to be located somewhere quiet (mainly to sneak in her late night rendezvous without being spotted, but she didn't need to know that I knew this) the location was definitely a lot different to our beach side house back in California; although I'm used to the place as I've been 'existing' here for almost 3 years now .My mom, Sara, was a retired lawyer and my dad, Michael, is a major in the armed forces. I have a 12-year old little sister called Scarlett and a 15-year old brother called Mason. From the outside looking in, everyone would think that we were the picture perfect family.
This was not the case at all.
My father was always abroad on business resulting in my mother becoming a compulsive cheat, every week it would either be Jeff from sales or Richard from the local insurance company. Me and my brother would sometimes bet a couple dollars on who we thought it was going to be. If we ever mentioned a thing to our father, our mother had sworn to never let us near our younger sister again; my mom (being a retired lawyer and all) knew every trick in the book and definitely knew how to play not only her cards right but everyone else's around her too.
Aside from being an arrogant, self-centred, manipulative woman, she was jealous. Jealous of her snobby country club friends who'd look at you like you were shit off of their Prada shoes. They hated me especially due to my taste in boyfriends. They disapproved of me for not going for their snide, wealthy sons and going for the not so wealthy, 'middle-class' boys as they'd call them. Every time I'd engaged in conversation with them I'd came to the conclusion that more shit comes out of their mouths than what comes out of their lower halves.
Anyway I'm getting side tracked, lets go from when one look and one touch from one particular person could change my entire world completely.
It was a breezy spring morning and the wind brushed through my light grey silky curtains. I slid out of my covers and shivered as the balls of my feet surfaced on the cold wooden floor. I crept towards my bay window and did something that I hadn't in such a long time. I admired the stunning scene that ran for miles into the burnt orange sunrise; I looked at the glistening water that had come to life after freezing it's way through the winter months. Out of nowhere, the calm atmosphere was disrupted my a large pebble scraping the surface of the water creating a loud echoing splash right in the bullseye of the lake. I searched for the source of the disruption, this didn't take me long as the silhouette that had caused it hardly ever went un-noticed. Tattoos blanketed the boy's lightly tanned arms, every single one of them screaming at you to hear their story, his beautiful hazel eyes glimmered under the radiant beams from the sun, his high cheekbones and perfectly chiselled features stood out mirroring pure perfection. His silky brown-blonde hair lay messily on top of his head as he ran his hand through it releasing a huge sigh. He fidgeted with the sleeve of his maroon hoodie before taking both of his hands to straighten out his black ripped jeans.
When I finally snapped out of my daze he was watching me, an intrigued expression dawning on his face. His name? Jason McCann.
