Stardate 2558.42
As Sala looked from the Vulcan Elders leaving the transporter pad, she saw a couple medical officers enter the area. Most likely the officers were sent to escort the Vulcan Elders to med bay for any medical attention.
Sala could also see that Jim and Sulu were still in the room. She gave another glance at her father before walking towards Jim.
"I thought I was supposed to be the reckless one," Jim said with a soft chuckle.
"Although my actions were of high risk, they were logical. The High Council is tasked with protecting the cultural history of Vulcan and they could not be beamed aboard from within the Katric Ark. With such short time, it was only logical that Spock and I went to retrieve them ourselves," Sala answered.
"Sala," Sorren spoke, approaching his daughter.
"Yes, father?" Sala asked, turning to face her father.
"Nemaiyo na' coming tor zaprah etek." (Thank you for coming to retrieve us.)
"T'rivak, sa-mekh. Ish-veh vesh'goh olozhikaik." (Of course, father. It was only logical.)
There was a pause before Sorren spoke again, "Wuh nu'ri sasu du vesh'aishan speaking k'. Vi nam-tor au?" (That young man were speaking with before. Who is he?)
"Jim Kirk. Au nam-tor wuh t'hy'la t't'nash-veh. I'sanoi, sa-mekh. Kal-tor etek prah du tor wuh hasuk tchol tor tor sure du nam-tor muhl." (Jim Kirk. He is a friend of mine. Now please, father. Let us get you to the medical bay to make sure you are well.)
With that, Sala motioned for her father to follow one of the medical officers leading the Vulcan Elders towards the medical bay.
"I heard my name. What were you talking about?" Jim asked, standing behind Sala now.
"My father simply asked who you were," Sala said before turning to face Jim, "And I am sure that you also need to report to the medical bay."
The medical bay was filled with patients, which was understandable as only a short time ago the ship had been fired upon by high caliber weapons.
Sala was quickly in and out of the med bay, only having her face cleaned off before being cleared to leave. She moved over to where her father was, her eyes downcast.
"Stariben, t'nash-veh tal-kam Sala. Ra nam-tor fi'ish-veh kashek?" Sorren asked, sensing issue with his daughter. (Speak, my dear Sala. What is on your mind?)
"I siyah pakik du, sa-mekh. Aishan u'Spock pakik ish-veh ko-mekh, du nearly zahal-tor wuh ka buk," Sala said softly, her eyes still downcast, "I tor ri fai-tor ik I would ma ovsoh kuv I had pakik du, sa-mekh. Na'I would yi rai longer ma t'nash-veh skan." (I almost lost you, father. Just as Spock lost his mother, you nearly followed the same fate. I do not know that I would have done if I had lost you, father. For I would then no longer have my family.)
Sala's mother had fallen seriously ill three years ago. She had passed away due to complications in treatment. Sorren was the last member of Sala's nuclear family. Outside of that, she had only a human Uncle to speak of and a few grandparents, though she was not sure that her Vulcan grandparents survived what just occurred.
"Tonk'peh I did ri. Heh I am la'i', t'nash-veh tal-kam Sala," Sorren said, reaching to wrap his first and second finger around his daughter's. This was the human equivalent of holding hands and was meant to be a gesture of comfort, "I am zhu-tor fai'ei t'du." (But I did not. And I am here now, my dear Sala. I am here because of you.)
"Itaren du, sa-mekh," Sala said softly, looking at the contact point between her father and herself before looking up at him, "I bolau fun tor t'nash-veh gu-vam i'. Dang du bolaya me, I dungi nam-tor fi'wuh mesut." (Thank you, father. I must return to my duties now. Should you need me, I will be on the bridge.)
Sala tightened her grip on her father's fingers for a moment for releasing them and turning to leave the medical bay. Hardly ten paces from the door, Sala heard a voice call her name and footsteps follow her.
"Sala," Jim said, catching up to her, "Are you okay?"
"Yes, Jim. I am fine. I have no injuries aside from a few minor abrasions," Sala answered, stopping and turning to face Jim.
"No, I mean, are you okay?" Jim asked once again.
"What do you mean, Jim?"
"Sala, Vulcan was just destroyed. Your home was destroyed. And I saw you having what looked like a pretty serious conversation with your dad. Are you sure you're okay?"
"If you are insinuating that I am not able to perform my duties then I must-."
"Sala, that's not what I'm getting at. You know that I wouldn't do that," Jim said before letting out a small sigh, "Look, you don't need to be so, stoic, around me. You can talk to me. Tell me if there's anything I can do to help you."
"Report to the bridge once you are cleared from the medical bay. You are the First Officer now, after all," Sala said simply before dismissing herself from the conversation to continue to make her way to the bridge.
Sala heard Jim let out a sigh as she turned from the hall she left him standing in. When she arrived at the bridge, Sulu was not yet back at the helm, and Spock was not present. Sala took to locking her eyes on the now empty space that laid outside the window out from the bridge. It was several minutes before she heard someone enter the bridge again. She could see from the corner of her vision that it was Spock who had entered.
He was shortly followed by Sulu. McCoy and Jim were not far behind.
Sala could feel eyes on her. And the eyes trained on her were most likely to be those of Jim. Though appreciative of Jim's concern for her, Sala was more concerned about what they were going to do about Nero. After all, he was now holding Captain Pike as a prisoner.
"We need to plan our next course of action," Sala said simply, tearing her gaze from the window.
"I concur," Spock returned in an equally plain tone.

Hey, sorry for all the talk in Vulcan with this chapter. I just felt that it would be more suited between Sala and her father to speak in Vulcan to have a more private conversation on the ship. I also apologize for the Venglish. I used an online translator that was not perfect.
