Tyler's POV
After last night, I'm kind of scared now. I really don't want to spend more time with Hunter than I have to. I didn't hate him or anything, he's just a prick. I just hate how he insulted me before he even got to know me.
I guess now that grandma is making us spend more time together, it's necessary that I actually do. Otherwise, she'd be on my ass all the time, right? Well, I suppose we could fake it, but there's always the danger of them finding out. Whatever, I'll leave it all up to Hunter.
I didn't want to go to school today because... well who likes to go to school, right? Except for nerds. I don't have anything against them, but they should lay off of the books sometimes. It can't be good for their health.
The school day started normally as it always has. I come in to my precalculus class and sit next to Alyssa, we talk for the whole period and copy each other's work, and then we finish early and talk some more.
"So, are you going to be staying here permanently?" she asked me.
"Nope, only for six months," I saw her face fall at my news. "Don't worry, we can still contact each other." Her face it up.
"You better still keep in touch!" she commanded.
"Chill out, Alyssa. We still have another six months to go!"
"Well, why did you move here in the first place? Family problems?"
"More like relationship problems," I muttered.
"What?"
"My relationship with Scott hasn't been the best — with my parents, at least. they're opposed to him and wants me away. So they sent me here."
"Is there a reason as to why they sent you here in LA specifically?" I didn't answer. I just shrugged.
The bell rang dismissing us from class. I was saved by the bell because I really didn't want Alyssa to pry with my current situation. Grandma is nosey enough, I don't want more nosey people in my life.
We had separate classes, which was a relief, so I could relax for a couple more hours before I get harassed with questions again. I like Alyssa, but she talks to much. She's also too loud and giggly. She seems like a nice, loyal friend though.
I had my next class with Eric; Environmental Science. We sat next together because I trusted his work. The teacher didn't really do anything. He just usually gave bookwork that he never even checks. Sometimes Eric and I wouldn't even do anything and the teacher wouldn't mind. Today though, the teacher assigned a project, so for sure Eric and I would have to put our minds to work.
"Are you still with that guy from London?" he asked.
"Of course, Eric. We're staying strong."
That was all our conversation was for that period. I knew he liked me, but not to this extent. He could find someone else that's single and better than me. I'm taken and I won't waver from my position.
Lunch finally came around and I had to mentally prepare myself for the abuse I'll be getting from Alyssa. Hopefully she forgot about the conversation we were having earlier. You haven't seen Alyssa's full capacity though. Whatever she wants, she gets. No escape.
