NEW BOOK COVER!!! :D (comment below on your thoughts! heheh, there's also a variant of it off to the side! ^_^ )
Okay, so this chapter will be a time rewind back to the day when Nathan and Dean went to the mall... I hope it doesn't confuse anyone! :\
*** Just a clarification — I noticed a lot of comments in the earlier chapters kept saying that Hunter was a nurse. Nope! He's a doctor, everyone! I hope this is clear lol... ***

Eric's POV
"So, what did happen to you?" Alyssa asked.
I looked to Tyler to wait for an answer. He was acting different today. From the moment I saw him when I got to school this morning, he was already all smiles. He seems to be a little out of himself too. He bumped into a lot of people and almost tripped three times before lunch period.
There must be something in his mind.
"I was sick and couldn't get out of bed. High fever." A protective side of me started to build up within my insides.
He was sick? How come he didn't call one of us?
I acted upon my instincts and pulled Tyler to me, wrapping him in my arms.
"Knock it off! If my fiancé sees you, he'll go crazy." I was a little disappointed and dejected when he said that. I thought they were only pretending? He pushed me off of him.
I scoffed. "Yeah right. You guys don't even like each other!" I said smirking. Since they don't like each other, I still have a chance, right?
Wait, no. There's still that Scott person from London. Damn.
"Says who?" he asked.
My eyes widened. What? They can't possibly be together now! They just hated each other a couple of days ago! What changed?
Alyssa and I gaped at him in shock. Neither of us expected him and Hunter to get together, but I guess we can't escape from that fact.
"What?" he asked, his eyes shifting between me and Alyssa.
"Uh, you did?" Alyssa said, questioning Tyler.
"Yeah, but things changed. We're together now," Tyler said smiling. My heart was torn into two, knowing that I just lost what chance I might have had with Tyler. "Officially," he continued, burning my heart into flames.
Alyssa squealed.
Everything else went blank in my head. I didn't want to listen any further. All I know is I've lost Tyler to a person he didn't even like in the beginning. Well I guess, he didn't like me either anyway. He said he didn't go for "people like me."
I don't get it though, I might be flirty, but I'm not a slut. I don't just sleep around and I most certainly do not go out with just anyone. I thought I could make Tyler change his mind, but I guess Hunter beat me to it.
When I heard him say that their wedding wasn't till winter, the words hit home. It was time for me to back off because Tyler was already expecting to get married. Reality hit me that Tyler was now officially an engaged man.
Hunter was his fiancé.
I didn't know how to deal with it, but I thought of letting go. If they didn't start off well and have now built this really strong relationship in just days, what chance do I have? I'm not a home wrecker either, so I think it's best to just leave them be.
