Chapter 14: The Kiss

I turn around to face my teacher and give him my homework smiling."Sorry for the delay,but I just wanted the project to be perfect" I said looking at him."Don't worry Mia,your projects are always top of the class,and anyway better late than never,I always say" as he started to laugh happily.

"Well bye" I say and he says goodbye as I walk out of the classroom.I hold onto my backpack and walk through the empty halls of school the quietest time when everyone leaves to go home.As I walk out the main doorway the wind blows my long hair in my face.I smile in happiness.I see Josh round the corner waiting for me."oh hey" I say running up to him and giving him a kiss."
We walk together hand in hand down the road.
The subject of our conversation soon turns to Prom coming up in a months time."So are you excited for prom" He says."yep so excited" I say.
"I can predict the slow dance will result in Ollie and Lexie getting together."Josh says laughing."I know they should get together I ship them literally" I say giggling.
"Wait what would our ship name be?" He asks me."How about MOSH,Mia and Josh" I say shouting.After what seems like forever we arrive at my house and I give him a kiss goodbye."I love you" I mouth to him as I make my way inside my house and away from Josh.

"Aww how cute you two lovebirds" mum says smiling at me."mum you're embarrassing me" I say slumping onto the sofa."Look everyone thinks you two are cute together" mum says.Joe walks past with a can of coke in his hand."Joe,do you think that Mia and Josh are cute together?" As Joe hardly answers."Meh" He says walking upstairs."Well he's happy" I say being sarcastic."Yeah probably wants a girlfriend,because you're in a relationship he's probably jealous,that he can't get no girls"
"Maybe" I say walking upstairs now.

I walk to my room and look at my phone I have a message from Joe pop up on my phone.

Joe: Hey your mum told us to go and grab some pizza from town together so we can all have it at home.

Me: Ok I will meet you downstairs then,still don't know why you had to text me when you are in your room which is three metres away.

Joe: Just can't be asked, to walk to your room.

Me: Lazy person

Joe: Rude person

I laugh at his last text,he is so lazy sometimes.I put on my coat and head downstairs with my purse."Hey here's the list for the pizzas" mum says handing me the list.
"Mum why can't we just order the pizza?" I ask her raising my eyebrows."Because one it was Joes idea and two I thought it would be really good for you two to bond together,you really don't spend much time with each other" Mum explains to me.
"Maybe there is a reason why we don't talk" I whisper under my breath because really after the kiss at the house party it has really been awkward between the two of us and I don't have much to talk about with him anyway.

Joe walks downstairs with a red jacket on.I sigh trying to get noticed so hard with his red colourful jacket."So I guessed it was your idea to go to town to meet some girls huh?" I say sarcastically."No I want to get out for a bit" He says looking at his phone.We walk out the door and get to the bus stop.

* 15 minutes later *

We walk into the main shopping centre and make our way to the pizza place."Here we are" I say walking into the pizza place."Actually so excited for this pizza" Joe says as he follow me.We get up to the counter and order the pizzas. I sit down on a table with Joe while we wait.
"So how's Josh" he says smiling at me.I nearly spit out my drink,he is acting so wired right now it is unbelievable."Me and Josh are good you know" I say trailing off.
"You've been dating for like 1 month now" he says."yeah we have, time just goes so quick"
"Oh look the pizzas are ready" I say getting up,wow that conversation was about to get real deep and I wasn't ready for that.We grab the pizzas and head out the door together.

As we walk near the park near my house.He looks at me."You know how you said time goes so quick" yea I say looking at him."Well I don't want to waste my time waiting for someone to notice me" he says sadly,his blue eyes staring into mine."um are you talking about a girl at school that you like?"

"Yeah I am I just want her to notice me" he says
" I could help you if you tell me what she looks like" I say genuinely trying to help him.
"Well she's smart and has the most beautiful long brown hair, blue piercing eyes,her smile lights up entire rooms, we did talk once but I think she's taken" he says to me.
" you know what I think I know a girl like that" I smile.
" you do"
"Wait who is she dating then I can find out who she is?" I ask.
"Oh she's dating Josh" my jaw drops.
"There must be a mistake Josh is dating me" I say,what if Josh is cheating on me with another girl I think to myself.And that's when it hits me.He is talking about me.

But he still continues to talk and go on."I'm not waiting any longer" he grabs my hand and looks at me.A million thoughts are racing through my head why me?I shouldn't be holding Joes hand when I'm dating Josh.But somehow it feels right,and I like it.Wow I need to pull my hand away and stop this right now but before I can he stares into my eyes.And puts my hair behind my ear."Joe you need to stop I'm dating Josh" I say tears filling my eyes."I don't want to lose you" he says before he starts to kiss me.Its as if all my thoughts have been muted and I am no longer living.I feels like we have been stopped in time.When he pulls away I look at him confused.
"I've always liked you Mia" he says putting his hands in his pockets."I'm sorry I can't do this" I run home,and run up to my bedroom.Crying against the door my hands clawing through my hair.I struggle to breath as my tears run down my face quickly.

I really don't want to hurt either of them.I need to tell someone what is happening right now.And Josh can never find out.
