Chapter 17: New York city lights

I rush down the road with my suitcase trailing behind me smiling,I keep saying to myself "I'm going to New York" I shout to myself which literally everyone can hear."Mia literally keep your thoughts to yourself" Joe shouts back.He has one big suitcase and a satchel on his soldier as well.I run up excitedly to Josh's front door,and knock the door waiting for an answer.
I see movement behind his door and get excited.

Josh comes to the door with one big suitcase smiling,"Hi Mia" he kisses me.And we walk over to Joe.
"Don't look so grumpy,we are going to America" Josh says patting Joe's shoulder.We make it to the school gates and all walk in.Everyone is there with all their suitcases in a circle in the playground.I look for Lexie and spot her purple hair flowing in the wind,I quickly run over to her and pull her into a hug."You excited" she whispers in my ear."Of course" I whisper back.

"Well do you like my outfit" Lexie's says twirling round.She is wearing a dark green beret with a matching green blazer.She has a black leather skirt and the cutest fur-lined ankle boots and also a striped black top."Lexie,you look amazing" I say smiling.I look down at my own outfit a bit embarrassed ,I'm wearing a grey hoodie and blue jeans with black vans."Mia,you look gorgeous too" Lexie says as she raises her phone up,she takes a selfie of us."I'm so excited" I squeal,Lexie joins me as me jump around in circles,in the cold November weather.
The teacher grabs the everyone's attention.They tell us we need to get into the coach.We start to make our way into the coach,I sit next to the window as Lexie puts her back pack on the floor in front of our seats.She looks at me smiling."Look what I bought,she waves her laptop,and then brings out our favourite movie" Lexie smiles even more.As we snuggle down into my blanket that I bought with me,I watch the motorway pass by quickly,all the cars speeding past.

I see Joe behind us with his earphones in his ears,obviously in a world of his own like usual.Josh is next to him looking out the window aimlessly.I begin to slowly fall asleep as the view of the movie blurs and eventually disappears.

I feel my shoulder being tapped and I open my eyes."Wake up,Sleepy head" says Lexie shouting in my face.I groan and try to sit up in my seat."Are we at the airport?" I ask looking out the window."Yep and everyone's waiting or you to get off the coach" Lexie says giggling.
I get up quickly looking around and gathering my stuff off the floor.As I make my way outside I see everyone staring at me.I literally a-shame my self sometimes.

Lexie giggles at me as I nearly fall into a puddle making my way into the airport with my suitcase lugging behind me.We make it in and Josh walks up to me smiling with his suitcase too, "Hi Mia,are you ready to go" he says looking at me concerned. "Yeah I'm fine".
I look at him sensing his odd expression looking at me, "Are you afraid of flying" I say grinning, "Maybe" he says shrugging his shoulders and looking embarrassed. "That's so cute" I say pulling him into a hug,it's been a while since I've comforted someone else for change rather than them comforting me.
After a while a feel a tapping on the shoulder I don't want to leave the hug but I have to turning around,to see Joe standing there smiling, "Hi guys" he says looking awkward,I nod at him to continue. "Can I borrow Mia for a minute" he says playing with his hands. "Sure" says Josh taking a seat on a nearby chair.Joe motions me to walk  away,as soon as we are out of sight of Josh he stops. "What's wrong" I say sitting down on the nearest chair. "Well I just needed to talk to you...I know you like Josh and everything and you're technically a couple now,but..."
"But what?" I say sighing I know what is coming. "I just really wanted to put it out there that I really like you,and when I kissed you that night,It felt like it was meant to happen". He says looking down at the ground.
" I know Joe that you kissed me and you like me in that way,but I'm with Josh and I love him" I say fiddling with my ring on my finger.

"I know I'm sorry I should of never said it anyway." Joe says backing away slowly and then fast as disappears into the crowds of people in the airport.I look out the window,a tear rolls down my cheek,why does everything have to be so complicated I think to myself.I love Joe and Josh but I can only have one.

I walk back over to Josh smiling,putting on a fake expression because my real feelings are hidden inside I just really want to cry my eyes out not worrying what anyone thinks about me. "You ok" he says hugging me. "Brilliant" I say lying through my teeth.

* 1 hour later *

We pull up the runway as the airplanes starts to speed up.Josh squeezes my hand,and looks at me.I smile at him.I glance back at Penny and Joe behind me,sat together and Lexie next to me is chewing a bag of sweets while looking at her favourite fashion magazine.I feel the plane lift off the ground and for some reason everyone starts cheering,I honestly don't know why. I then begin to close my eyes as the airplane smoothly drifts through the sky.

I lights of New York City glisten through the window of the airplane,I know I'm here,the lights twinkle and glitter like tiny little fairies.I gasp in excitement when I see the Statue of Liberty from outside the window glowing in the dark beautiful moonlight.The future certainly looks bright here.
