*Authors note: Dei isn't pronounced as "die" but as "day"*

Present

I smiled to myself at the memory.

Even though it seemed cheesy it just reminded me of how innocent we were.

She liked cars and playing outside while I was quiet and just read.

I miss those days.

I closed my eyes.

"What you thinking about?"

I opened them.

I said what I thought.

"Memories."

Lenny looked at me through the mirror.

"You're crazy for missing people."

Who said I'm missing someone?

"You." He said blatantly.

"Memories only come up with you miss something. Whether that's a person, time or place."

"And where did you learn that from?"

"Myself."

The car went silent. "These past days i've learned a lot about you. And something I find notable is that you depend on others a lot. Whether you notice it or not but you use other people as moral support to support yourself. I've seen you change yourself ways many times to reflect something I would do or to make yourself stronger. And i've only known you for a few weeks."

I thought about it. Have I been changing myself for Lenny? Would I talk this way to Liz?

The radio was a low murmur when a loud beep came on. Probably a weather alert.

Lenny turned up the sound.

"Hello this is Mike Grensley with the missings childs association. Right now i'm going to be updating you on three recent abductions. First we have Mary Venburen. She is 4'11 with brown hair and brown eyes. She just turned eleven years old when she went missing. Suspect is her uncle. Please lookout for a black chevy tahoe on est. 99. If you see anything please call." he said a number.

"For our second case I just recently found out that young James Micheal was found today at 4:51pm. I'd like to thank the volunteers in the neighborhood for the help bringing this child home safely. And now for our last story we have a 17 year old Dei Walters who was reported missing yesterday afternoon. When his mother came home and found that Dei wasn't there. His car was reported missing and the suspected reason is runaway. He is 5'9 with light brown hair and hazel eyes. For pictures she go to www.. To see more. As always please report any suspicious children activities to the authorities to keep our children off the street and out of the wrong hands. This is James Mike Grensley with your daily report." The voice cut off as the radio chimed and moved to a new song.

My eyes widened as my dazed fantasy went away. "They're looking for me."

Relief and sadness came over me as I thought of seeing Liz again but having to leave Lenny. We've gotten so close.

"You're not going to see them", said Lenny in a somewhat strict tone.

"Why not? They're looking for me, they're worried."

"I said you're not." I felt my face grow mad.

"Why does it matter to you, it's my family and friends. I won't bother mentioning you." My voice grew louder.

"Shut up", he yelled.

My face grew red as I realized that I made him mad. Comeon Lenny you know the only way to get what you want is to sweet talk him. How should I act? I looked at the setting sun then changed my attitude. With my head down in a fake sad tone I thought of an idea. "I'm sorry for yelling", I said.

"You know I don't want to leave you." I moved up against his seat and grabbed his arm. "You know it's getting late, let's go to bed." I felt his muscle.

"That's a great idea", he said in a nicer tone. "Go to bed", he said more demanding.

I moved back shocked. "Go the fuck asleep and leave me alone."

He opened a pack of cigarettes.

I sat looking at him when he cracked open the window and exhaled.

Quietly I followed his orders and crawled over the seat and laid on the floor in the back clutching the blanket. In the end I just made him pissed while I wondered if I'm ever going home.
