Rhazien's POV

{Welcome Home}

___________________

It's dinner time when we finally arrive at the road that leads towards my house and I'm so glad for it. That means that Lander, Dario, and Ashton are both in their own homes so I wouldn't have to introduce Josephine to them. Dario did send me a message while Josephine was driving earlier that he cleaned up a lot of bodies from the cellars while Lander and Ashton cleaned the dungeons so we shouldn't have a problem noise-wise.

Once we crossed city limits, I told Josephine that we're switching drivers so I can turn off the GPS and let my phone charge. I'm surprised that it hasn't died yet but it did go down to three percent by the time I shut it off and let it charge in the car.

Speaking of Josephine, I'm relieved that she accepted the second rose. Twenty questions is the stupidest game I've ever played in my life but it did have one good outcome, which is that now I can physically feel whatever she feels if I want to and we can mentally communicate. Before I was only able to read her mind but now we can talk to each other without having to actually speak. I have no idea how i'm going to present that to her though so I'll keep that quiet for now, along with the millions of things that I'm hiding from her.

My home is surrounded by twenty-feet tall solid walls five miles away from my house in all directions. The only way in and out are the large metal gates on one of the walls. The only time the gates open is when I open it. Not even Lander, Dario, or Ashton are able to open the door, just me. It lowers the risk this way.

Lumburn is a large city but my house is on the outskirts of it. It doesn't take long to drive from the city to my house though, just barely half an hour. In that half hour though, there's a dirt path road that takes you deep into the woods that border the large forests north of Alberta. The trees are dead and there's no signs of life, just a few signs that Ashton posted up directing travelers to their actual destinations that isn't near my house.

"You're not gonna kill me, are you?" Josephine asks, in a small tone.

I scoff and ease up on the gas when I see the top of my house appearing. "If I was going to, I would have already done so. We're almost there so get the thing ready," I tell her, motioning to the over sized rat. Girl or boy, I don't care, the thing is still a thing.

The gates come into view and I lower the window so I can put in the code as well as my thumbprint and eye print to open the gate. It takes a little over a minute for everything to register and the gates slowly slide open. Knowing I only have a five second window, I press on the gas and get the car through just as the gates suddenly slam close and lock.

Josephine lets out a huff as she puts her hands on the dashboard and sighs, before looking around. I continue driving towards the house at a slow pace so Josephine can take in the surroundings. She might as well get used to her new front yard anyways.

Unlike beyond the gates, the land around my house is cleaner. There's green grass and shrub along with a few dirt patches scattered here and there. There aren't as many trees either since I had a lot of them removed due to the fact that I didn't like the sight of them just randomly littered around. There's a couple elm trees on the front yard and I think there's a birch tree in the backyard.

The road disappears at the gate so I'm just driving on a makeshift dirt path towards the garage. Once the house appears in view, I hear Josephine gasp in shock and I see her move her face closer towards the front. "It's so... big."

"I know," I reply, turning to the left to park on the garage. I get the car inside and we both get out before grabbing the stuff out of the backseat and the trunk.
