By the time he got home, Daichi was soaking wet. He shut the door to his apartment with excessive force and let his back hit the door behind him. He sunk to the floor. Raindrops fell from his hair to the floor, creating minuscule puddles of rainwater.
she was like him.
Daichi flinched at the thought, the thought that anybody would remind him of her.
but he was like her. he smiled like she did.
The little voice in his head wouldn't quiet itself. His brain knew they were similar somehow, but for some reason the rest of him was in denial.
he smiled like her. the man at the cafe smiled like her.
Daichi whispered it, trying to get himself used to the words in his head.
maybe she is in other people. maybe he knew her.
No.
there was no one like her.
there was no one like her.
there is no one like her.
He said it over and over again to erase the pain of the words he had whispered a few seconds before.***************
BEEP! BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEEPPP!!!!
Daichi sat up, tired and groggy. Why must all alarm clocks be this way? Who came up with this?
He reluctantly got out of bed, groaning as he put his head in his hands. Like pretty much everyone else, Daichi absolutely despised waking up.
He needed coffee. Needed it. Badly.
Daichi stomped into the kitchen and swung open all the cupboards, searching for his coffee beans. Finally he came across his bag of beans and opened it, relieved, to find that there WAS NO COFFEE!
"ARGH!!!" He stuffed the bag in the trash and threw himself onto the couch.
"Where am I going to get my coffee now?!" He wondered aloud. *Hmmm I wonder*
the Starbucks.
The tiny voice in his head said and Daichi frowned at the words. No. Hell no. I'm not going back there.
He leaned back in defeat, sinking into the couch.**************
Finally, after a long time of thinking, Daichi gave in to his need for coffee and just headed out to the Starbucks. Hopefully the silver haired dude wouldn't be there. Hopefully.
Anyway, Daichi tried not to think about it as he walked through his neighborhood. The ground was still a bit wet from yesterday's rain.
Finally, he arrived at the Starbucks. To his dismay, the silver haired man was working the cash register, eliminating any possible avoidance. Daichi sighed, getting on the short, four person line. It was a Saturday, he had woken up early for a weekend. Soon enough, it was his turn to order.
"Hello, what can I get for you?" A soft voice said nicely, and Daichi was taken aback by how sweet his voice was. He cleared his throat.
"Ahem. Can I get a grandecaramelfrappe?" Daichi said quickly, he was always subconscious ordering this specific drink, his friends always teased him for it.
"Sorry? Could you repeat that?" The man said with a cheeky smile.
fuck this guy.
"GrandeCaramelFrappe." He mumbled.
"Hmm?" The guy raised his eyebrows.
"GRANDE CARAMEL FRAPPE!!" Daichi yelled, the whole store turned to look at him. One girl giggled softly.
"Whoa buddy! So excited about your order... some people..." the barista said jokingly, laughing a bit and shaking his head.
"Name?" He said, cup and sharpie in hand.
"Daichi."
"Hello, Daichi, I'm Suga. I like frappes too... don't tell anyone!" Suga put his finger to his lips.
A smile tugged on Daichi's mouth as he went to wait for his coffee.
"Daichi!" The energetic ginger kid yelled, pushing the drink onto the table, and Daichi quickly snatched it up. He took a sip, walking briskly out of the coffee shop.By the time he got home, the drink was finished, and Daichi was heading to drop the cup into the trash. Out of the corner of his eye, however, he saw something other than his name written on the cup. It read,
"Hi Daichi! I'm Suga. But you can call me Sugar ;)"
Daichi blushed slightly at the words, but threw out the cup anyway. No way in hell would he fraternize with that guy any more than get coffee from him. Nobody could ever replace her, let alone some guy he just met at a fucking Starbucks.
He carried along with his day, trying to forget the embarrassing and yet intriguing events of the morning.
