You leaned your head against the palms of your hands, your elbows propped on the table you were sitting at. Using one to lift your cup of milk tea to your lips to take a sip, you shifted your gaze to the window. You were making your way to your studio when the weather decided to start furiously dripping water from the skies down onto the earth. The sudden downpour had forced you to take shelter in a nearby cafe, due to the fact you didn't have an umbrella. You watched the raindrops splatter onto the window and trickle down the glass in front of the grey and dull sky. You clicked your tongue as you took another sip of your tea, pretending the raindrops on the window were in some kind of race towards the bottom. Some droplets would merge together, pushing its way ahead of another, and some would stay frozen in one spot. You sat there for a good 5-10 minutes, just lost in your own thoughts.

"Is this seat taken...?" a quiet voice asked beside you.

His voice made you lose your train of thought as you looked up at him. All the air in your lungs seemed to vanish. It was him. The man leaning against the tree from yesterday. You couldn't find the strength to get your vocal chords to work, so you shook your head in response. He nodded, "Do you mind if I sit here?" You shook your head again. He was wearing a pair of black jeans and a slightly over-sized hoodie. His black hair was disheveled, and he only had one earring on this time. He sat down in front of you without another word, sipping his drink quietly.

The two of you didn't speak as you continued to look out the window, sneaking a few glances at the stranger every now and then.

"Why were you staring at me yesterday?" he asked suddenly.

Oh snap. Is that what he was here for? "I...uh..." you stammered, unsure of what to say. "I saw you and I guess I kind of zoned out...sorry if I made you uncomfortable."

He nodded and replied with a simple "It's alright."

"Hey...uh...what's your name...?" you asked hesitantly, peering at your hands, too scared to meet his gaze. You actually really wanted to know, you couldn't think of any possible names that would suit this man. Expecting him to answer, you waited for the sound of his voice, but it never came. You looked up. He was gone. You blinked in confusion before your head whirled towards the entrance. He was standing in the doorway with his back facing you, before walking away. It was as if he was asking you to follow him.

Baffled and without thinking, you stood up, grabbed your drink, and trailed after him. You kept a safe distance and hid yourself whenever he looked back. And then you sa him turn into an alleyway, which you reluctantly did so. You thought he'd be far ahead, but you bumped into him the moment you turned the corner. He looked at you as you trembled under his cold stare.

"Why were you—" he began in a deep and threatening voice, before stumbling back as you backed away. "I'm sorry!" you interrupted, bowing. "I asked your name, but you left before you answered."

He stared at you. No one's asked his name before. His mouth felt dry as he kept it shut. He knew he should take this chance to kill you to stock up on human blood, but instead a low growl escaped his lips as well as a faint whisper of "Don't follow me" before he turned around and left. You didn't move. As much as you wish you could at least learn his name, he made it clear he didn't want to talk. As you turned around to leave, he felt a sudden sharp pain on his neck again, his Demon Mark. It felt as if his Mark was pulsating like his heart, sending shockwaves through his body, paralyzing him. He fell to his knees as nausea overtook his vision, a throbbing pain in his heart causing him to collapse to the floor.

The sudden 'thump' you had heard behind you made you turn around as you saw him fall to his knees, soon after collapsing. You gasped, quickly rushing over to his side, turning him onto his back. His eyebrows were furrowed, and his breathing was heavy. His temperature was rising quickly as well, as he tossed and turned in pain. You quickly pulled out your phone as you called the hospital, before your phone was slapped out of your hand by him. He shook his head, as if telling you 'not the hospital'. You gulped as you replied, "Well if you aren't going to the hospital, then you're coming with me. I don't care what you say. I'm not just gonna leave you here." Helping him sit up, you draped one of his arms over your shoulder, standing up while pulling him up as well.

You could hear a low groan rumble from his throat as you helped him regain his balance. "C'mon, my house isn't too far. Lean on me if you need to." He nodded reluctantly as you matched his pace, steadily nearing the apartment you shared with Taehyung. Once you had made it to your front door, you helped him climb the steps as you unlocked the door, entering with him close behind. You led him to the living room as you had him lay down on the couch, telling him "I'll be right back."

You left him in the living room as you scurried to the kitchen, getting him a cup of water. As you came back, you found him already asleep on the couch. You smiled softly as you left the cup on the table, deciding not to disturb him. You grabbed a thin blanket as you placed it over his sleeping form. Leaving the living room and towards your music room where your piano was, you bumped into Taehyung.

"(name)?"

"Yeah?"

"Who's that?" he asked, referring to the stranger whose name you still didn't know you had brought home.

"I don't know his name. But he collapsed on the street and I brought him home," you answered.

"Why didn't you call the hospital?"

"He wouldn't let me. I tried, but he knocked my phone out of my hand before I could. I don't know why, but I couldn't just leave him there. So I brought him home."

Taehyung nodded. "Alright, (name). I'll trust you. But I hope he's not dangerous."

"Tae, I think you're being too cautious. I doubt he means any harm," you protested, defending him.

Taehyung lifted his hands in surrender, "Okay, okay. We'll see when he wakes up."

You smiled at him as you made your way to your music room. I'm sure he doesn't mean harm. He seems nice enough.

But oh boy, were you unaware of his secrets. So blissfully unaware.
