I'm Mayara Michele Lovato. Yeah, that Lovato - Demi's my sister. Everyone knows her name, but me? At home, I'm just the nobody in the corner. School sucks. Life sucks. Everything feels broken. The question is: how long can I keep it together... and...
It's 9 a.m. and I haven't slept a wink. I mean, could anyone sleep after just finding out they're going to be the opening act on Demi freaking Lovato's new tour? My life is about to change—and honestly? I think I'm totally okay with that. Not that there's any shortage of paparazzi, of course...
"You probably won't get any fans though!"
Ugh, shut up! This is my moment!
I wander toward Demi's room, though I have no real reason to—just one of those "walk to someone without knowing why" moments.
"Demi?" I call softly, poking my head in. She's asleep, mouth slightly open, and it's just ridiculously adorable. Yes, I can say that about my sister—she is cute.
I shake her gently. Slowly, her eyes flutter open.
"W-what?" she mumbles, still half-asleep.
"Demi, wake up."
"Why? It's nine in the morning. Go away!" She's never been a morning person.
"I'm just too excited about the tour. I couldn't sleep."
"Uh... well, I'm tired, so go away!"
I tilt my head, trying my cutest voice. "Can I cuddle with you then?"
She groans at first, then smiles and makes space. "Come here."
"I love you, Dem. Thanks for asking me to be part of the tour!"
"I love you too, baby girl," she whispers, kissing my head. "And you deserve everything."
I curl up beside her, and before long, we're both drifting back to sleep.
Two hours later
By now, everyone's awake and breakfast is happening. I'm just poking at my food, completely unnoticed—everyone's too busy talking about the tour. Win-win.
About an hour later, everyone's dressed and ready. I peek at Demi on the couch.
"Demi?" I ask.
"What?"
"You said you had the tour schedule ready on paper?"
She smiles, disappears for a moment, and returns with a poster. My eyes widen as I read:

"Omg! That's awesome! I can't wait!" I squeal.
"I'm glad you're excited, girl. Your friend Lily needs to pack, because tomorrow I want everyone together—we leave then," Demi says.
"I'm calling her right now! Bye!" I squeal, practically bouncing.
I've never been this happy in my life, I just wish I could always be this happy.
