"come on soph," you begged her.
"i don't think i've ever been more nervous to do something in my entire life." she looked concerned, her hands were shaking. naydelin's parents were eager to meet their daughter's girlfriend, the only problem was the girlfriend was terrified of meeting them.
"what if they hate me?" sophia asked as she fiddled with the hem of her dress.
"they won't hate you." naydelin place her hand ontop of sophia's. "they're really excited to meet you! it's all they ever talk about!"
"what would we talk about?"
"i dunno, just relax. you'll be fine!"
"i guess so,"
they both approached the front door. naydelin turned the nob and opened it, her dog running up to greet them.
"hi girls!" naydelin's mom said as she pulled the dog back.
"hey mom,"
"and you must be sophia! nice to meet you!" naydelin's mother shook sophia's hand.
"nice to meet you t-too," sophia smiled lightly.
"your father is working late, he won't be home until eleven. it's just us for dinner. i made mac and cheese if that's okay,"
"perfect!" naydelin agreed. sophia stayed quiet as the dog sniffed her. she started petting him, the dog eventually took a liking to her.
dinner went well. the food was great, no awkwardness and sophia seemed to enjoy herself. naydelin's dog had made a new friend and sophia immediately loved him.
"thank you for coming, sophia. i hope to see you around here again!" naydelin's mom pulled her into a hug.
"thanks for having me, i had a great time." she smiled her big sophia smile and realized her ride was there. naydelin hugged sophia and off she went.
