new years eve || jaeden

you had gone over to wyatt's house for a new years eve party. knowing your friends, you knew there wasn't going to be much partying. finn, wyatt, wyatt's friend rocco, jaeden and you sat around playing video games and watching youtube videos for awhile.
     "this is boring! when are we going to do something fun?" you pestered the boys who were staring at the tv screen.
     "jaeden, go get your girl." rocco said, not breaking his stare at the tv.
     "i'm not his girl, i'm not anyone's girl. when are we doing something?" you rolled your eyes.
     "not yet you aren't," he retorted. you sat back down and scrolled through social media until the game ended.

     "okay, now can we do something?"
     "fine, this controller needs new batteries anyways." wyatt nodded as the three boys sat down in a circle beside you.
     "let's share new years resolutions!" you suggested with a smile.
     "all of a sudden the controllers have plenty of battery!" rocco stood up.
     "sit down, i like this idea." jaeden added as rocco slumped down.
     "of course you do," rocco smirked.

     "next year i want to exercise more." you said.
     "that's what everyone says!" wyatt laughed.
     "shut up! jaeden, go."
     "i think i should be more upfront with my feelings next year."
     "SOFT!" rocco yelled. everyone burst into laughter and jaeden playfully shoved him.
     "i'll go get some food and drinks for us, be right back." you left the three boys and walked to the kitchen.
     "dude, are you going to ask her?" wyatt asked jaeden.
     "y-yeah, i think so."
     "well, you better know soon. its eleven thirty and that midnight kiss is just around the corner!"

     "two minutes!" people downstairs cheered. everyone gathered around the tv in wyatt's room to see the ball drop.
     "hey, y/n?" jaeden sat close to you as wyatt and rocco had a conversation.
     "yeah?" you turned to him, your faces inches apart.
     "ONE MINUTE!" the adults cheered. they started counting down, wyatt and rocco did too.
     "you know how i said my new years resolution was to be more upfront with my feelings?"
     "yeah, we just talked about it," you smiled.
     "TEN, NINE,"
     "i really like you. a lot."
     "SEVEN, SIX,"
     "i really like you too, jaeden."
     "FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE!"
jaeden grabbed your face gently and kissed you. you kissed back as everyone was screaming "happy new year!"
