Scott~
Derek came busting through the door; he was always so unlike himself whenever Stiles was around! Instead of his usual dark and mysterious, never in a rush act, he always seemed to be moving, and there was almost a hint of nervousness. Huh.
“Derek” He nodded, trying to wipe any trace of a smirk off his face
“Scott, a word?” Derek walked into the kitchen, Scott following on his heels
“I still don’t think we should tell him.” Derek scowled
“He’s my best friend, and he might be in danger. Don’t you think he has a right to know?” Scott replied fiercely
“You know I don’t want him getting hurt, but don’t you think he’d be safer if we kept him out of this entirely? Just bringing him into this situation puts him in harm’s way!”
“Being in Beacon Hills puts him in harm’s way! This whole town is one big danger zone! He’s not going to be 100% safe either way, so might as well let him know what he’s up against!” Scott argued “Plus, you know as well as I do how smart he is… we could really use him on this!”
Derek stormed out into the living room and leaned against the wall. Scott sighed before going out and joining the others on the couches as the other wolves pretended they weren’t just listening in to that whole conversation. Not that they could really help it.
Lydia and Allison sat on one couch, Isaac and Scott on another, and Boyd and Erica sat on the floor. Stiles opened up the front door, and looked at everyone expectantly. “What is this, an intervention?”
Stiles~
“Stiles, we, er, have to tell you something.” Allison said, biting her lip. She always did that when she was nervous. What were they hiding?
“As you know, there’s been quite a few more deaths recently, and when you asked us if they were supernatural or not, we weren’t exactly truthful with you when we said no.” Scott said guiltily
Stiles waited silently for them to continue.
“The bodies that were found looked very much like animal attacks, and for the first two, we thought maybe that’s just what they were. You know, an animal mistaking humans for prey, or someone being idiotic and provoking it, but now we’re up to five people dead, all in the same way. No animal around here attacks like that.” Lydia explained
She paused, waiting for Stiles to say something, but when he was quiet, she went on.
“The people were killed in brutal ways. And they weren’t just killed; some parts of them were eaten. But there were no organs taken. In most supernatural killings, organs are taken, usually the heart and the liver, and are used for some sort of ritual. But here, the organs are intact; it’s just external limbs or bits of flesh ripped off. It’s very unusual, and it’s part of the reason the murders were so believable as animal attacks.”
“We’ve done some profiling,” Allison chimed in again “And we think we know what it is”
“Well tell me dammit!” Stiles looked around impatiently “What is it?”
Now it was Erica who spoke up “God, have you ever heard of patience?”
“Erica…” Isaac warned, glancing quickly at Derek before speaking again. “We’ve written down everything we know about the killer, or killers. They’re strong, fast, and they feed on humans. They have to have some sort of fangs if they're eating people, so we’ve taken all that, and eliminated everything we could, and we’re confident we know what it is.”
Derek spoke for the first time since they were in the car, “Ōkami.”
