3rd Person POV- Sixteen Years Ago

"She's beautiful Gabriel. You should be very proud." Lena "Tracer" Oxton said in her lilting accent while draping herself over the back of the couch. Gabriel Reyes held his baby girl in his arms, her light coos attracting his fellow Overwatch agents. They were all spending their time in their shared apartment building waiting for their next mission.

"Her name is Annora. Her mother named her." Angela "Mercy" Ziegler walked over and Annora grabbed one of her fingers and tugged on it.

"I'm so sorry about her death. I know how much you loved each other. And she was an amazing person." Gabriel nodded and stroked his daughter's cheek. She had his eyes and they looked up at him with wonder. Suddenly, Jack Morrison ran in calling for the agents to suit up. Annora looked up at her father as she was placed down in her crib.

"I know Anni. I'll be back soon." She grabbed his finger and squeezed. Gabriel smiled and ran after his fellow agents. A few cleaners came in, looked over at the baby bassinet and walked over to the child. She was sleeping with her tiny hand next to her face.

"So this is Gabriel's child. This was a great idea seeing as how he's an agent." the first one commented. The baby didn't stir even though the two women were speaking in normal tones.

"His wife died. He had to keep her." the second one said. They stood over her and talked to each other before her father returned.

"She's going to have a huge legacy over her head. I wonder if she'll be able to handle it." the second one said.

"Especially with who her father is." After they finished talking, Gabriel walked in and over to his baby. She woke up and tugged on his fingers. Ana Amari came over and placed a hand on her comrade's shoulder.

"She really is a beautiful child. Just don't leave her behind for your job." Gabriel nodded and rocked Annora in his arms.

"I'm worried for her future and the legacy that will hang over her."

"And you should be. Just always remind her about it. And always remember to keep her safe." Gabriel gave his friend a small smile and looked back down at Annora. Ana's daughter, Fareeha, came running over to her mother and pulled Ana away with her. He sighed and rubbed Annora's cheek with his finger. His plans to fight Morrison were running through his head again, causing him to think about how it would affect his daughter. Gabriel stepped out of the room and into his normal bedroom.

"Anni, bad things are going to happen soon. There might be a chance that things could go terribly wrong. I want you to know that, no matter what, I love you. And I will always find you, no matter where you are in the world."

Two weeks later

"Who will look after her. We shouldn't abandon her. Gabriel wouldn't have wanted that." Mercy said, cradling Annora in her arms. After the fight at Overwatch headquarters in Switzerland, Jack Morrison and Annora's father Gabriel Reyes were dead. Leaving his infant daughter behind. Now, the remaining agents were deciding who would parent her.

"Angela, I feel like you should parent her. You're the most caring out of all of us." Tracer said. But Mercy shook her head.

"I'm going to be on the field all the time and can't take care of a child. I love you Lena and I completely agree with you, but I don't feel like I can do it."

"I feel like the men wouldn't make good parents. So, gentlemen, I say we leave the room." Reinhardt said. The male agents all left leaving Angela and Lena. Ana was dead and Mei, an Overwatch climatologist, was still stationed in Antarctica.

"Angela, please. You know I'm not mother material. Please just take her. Gabriel would have liked that."

"Lena, you'll never know you're not a mother until you find out. Please, just take her. I know you'll be an excellent mother. And when I see you again, I can't wait to see her when she's all grown up." Angela gently passed Annora into Lena's arms and smiled. Annora opened her eyes and smiled at Lena. The young girl reached up and touched Lena's chronal accelerator

"See? You're a natural. Don't worry Lena." There was yelling from the main lobby that made Angela and Lena jump. Lena shielded her new daughter and the two ran off towards a safe space.

"The authorities are here. We have to escape, now." Angela said.

"I know that. I don't know how we're supposed to do that. I mean, I have my ways, but I'm worried about you." Lena said. Angela shook her head and they sat down in the small closet they took shelter in.

"We don't know what that will do to Annora. We'll just have to wait this out." Annora made little noises and Lena stroked her cheek.

"Angela, why did Gabriel do it?" The doctor looked over at her friend and sighed.

"Honestly Lena, I have no idea. I guess no one noticed his growing hatred for Jack until it was too late. I wish I could go back and do something or say something to the two of them. Then Gabriel would be here to watch his only child grow up." The two sighed and it became quiet apart from all the noise coming from outside the closet.

After two hours, the yelling stopped and it went quiet. Lena slowly opened the door and saw only a dark room that only a few hours ago was hopping with Overwatch agents.

"It's clear. Come on." The two women snuck through the empty building and made their way to a back exit. When the two found a safe spot they stopped and turned towards each other.

"Please try to find us when you get the chance. I'm sure Annora would be happy to see you." Lena said. The two hugged as best they could with Lena's accelerator and the baby. The two smiled and parted ways away from everything they knew and into their new lives.
