Tracer's POV

Annora ran away from me and my former friend faster than I thought she would. I lowered my guns and felt a tear roll down my cheek. I wasn't ready for this to happen. Not this soon.

"Who is that, Lena? Just an orphan you found in the streets? She can't be some random girl. Although, that does sound like you, doesn't it? Adopting a sad little girl from the streets of London out of the goodness of your heart."

"She's not some random girl! She's my daughter. A daughter that I've kept safe since the collapse of Overwatch. Safe from people like you! I never knew what happened to Annora. The building was crawling with officers and UN authorities. I couldn't get in without being arrested. I'm sorry Gabriel. She's gone."

"She's alive, and I know it. Is that her?"

"NO! That's not her. I'm positive that there's more than one Annora in the world! She could be anywhere in the world. She could even be dead. So don't automatically assume that that's her." I held up my guns at Reaper, prepared to shoot him.

"I would tell her who her parents are sooner rather than later. Think on that before you do anything else." He then disappeared in a cloud of black mist. I lowered my guns and started to blink away. Now, I had to face Annora when I got home.

Annora's POV

I couldn't find Mei or Kinsley after Mom told me to leave her and Reaper in the alley. Instead, I ran home and up to my bedroom; my safe zone. I collapsed on my bed and dropped my pistols on the carpet where they made a thud on the floor. I shrugged off my bomber jacket and threw it on the ground. It also fell to the floor with a thud and it startled me. I shot up and looked down at the floor.

I picked up the jacket and found the shotgun I picked up off the ground that Reaper tossed away. I didn't realize how heavy it was until I weighed it with my hands. It was really finely crafted meant for only the best assassin. I ran my fingers against the fine metal of the gun and took a deep breath in and out.

Mom came home an hour after I did yelling my name to see if I was home. I shot up, hid the shotgun under my bed and covering it with the bedskirt I've had since I was eight. I only hoped that Mom wouldn't find it while I was out of the house. I walked out of my room and downstairs where Mom ran up to me and held me in her arms.

"Anni, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. I shouldn't have done that to you. Love, I'm so sorry." She kept her hold on me for a few minutes and then let go. She held me out at arm's length and smoothed out my hair. She smiled at me and I smiled back.

"Mom, I'm fine. It's ok." She shook her head and I could see the tears rolling down her cheeks.

"No, you shouldn't have had to go through that. I didn't know he would try to do that to you. Oh, my little girl." I smiled and pulled her in for a hug. She held me there for another couple of minutes like I had just come back from a long trip around the world.

"I didn't get hurt though. There's always that." She sighed and let me go. I knew this was hard on her because she's been protecting me for almost seventeen years and she doesn't want me to get hurt or kidnapped. Especially on my first mission.

"Love, do you still want to do this? You don't have to do this if you don't want to. You can just go into track and you can be safe." I gave her a tiny smile and she smiled back.

"Mom, I want to do this. You don't have to worry about me. I know how to protect myself. He just got into my head is all. It won't happen again, I promise." Mom nodded and wiped away the tears she had rolling down her cheek.

"Alright, go on. Your graduation is in a few days and I can't have you failing." I nodded and went back upstairs. I then realized that when she told me to leave earlier, she said we would talk at home. I clenched my fists and ran to my room. Another lie. How long has she been lying to me? A few months, a few years? Maybe even my entire life and this was just another one. Maybe she lied to me about her telling me who my parents are. I wouldn't put it past her if that was this was the case.
