"Can I please flip the switch!" You begged the doctor.
"Yup! Go for it!" The doctor smiled.
You flipped the switch, heading to France in 1938. The doctor was taking you here because you had always wanted to see Paris and loved the early 1900's.
Woosh Woosh Woosh Thud
Already in the appropriate clothing, The doctor grabbed your hand and you stepped out the door. Jack decided he was going to stay behind this time with his books, letting you two repair what the Doctor almost ruined.
You walked outside with him, holding his warm hand in cold weather. You could see every breath you took float in front of you. You smiled looking up at the Eifel Tower.
"Wow..." You said.
Your breath was taken away as you looked at the stars. Now, instead of seeing stars, you saw potential planets, galaxies, places you would want to visit someday.
"It's beautiful doctor." You looked up at him smiling.
"I know," He squeezed your hand just a little and looked back up at the Eifel tower again. "I have somewhere I'd like to take you." He smiled, still looking at the beautiful landmark just in front of him.
"Ooh! Where are we going!" You smiled widely.
"It's a surprise, (y/n)." He laughed a bit. "Would you like to head there now? I've got a lot of years to go, but you not so much." He smiled sadly.
"Awe, don't be like that doctor! Let's go." You nudged him.
You walked down the busy streets and to a brick building that read: Caveau De La Huchette. The Doctor opened the door for you and you stepped in, mesmerized by what you were seeing.
You looked to see a jazz band performing and people dancing. Dancing... You loved it. There was a tall man in a black hat playing the Cello, and another broad-shouldered man playing the trumpet. The singer was putting everything he had into every lyric as he sang, not leaving his soul out of a single word. You looked around at the establishment you were in, seeing it lit in warm orange lights that seemed to protect you from the cold and women giggling at the bar sitting on stools that looked quite comfortable.
The Doctor just looked at you with the biggest smile on his face. He was mesmerized by you. The next song came on and the doctor took off his coat and yours hanging them on the coat rack. He reached out his hand for you to take it. (Billie Holiday and Teddy Wilson: I Can't Believe That You're in Love With Me.)
"May I have this dance, Madame (L/n)."
"Gladly." You placed one hand on his shoulder and the other in his hand. He placed a hand on your waist, leading the way.
"I didn't know you could dance, Doctor."
"Is it because I'm old?"
"Uh-huh." You nodded
"Oh come on." The doctor sighed. "Don't pull that card" He smiled looking behind you, eyes slightly sleepy.
Frankly, you couldn't look at his face either for some reason. You accidentally stepped on his foot.
Not saying anything about it, you could feel the heat rise up into your face. You looked up at him to see if he noticed.
His eyes looked much older than his face. He was wise and had been through a lot. Someone important to you always said, "Look into someone's eyes and hear what they aren't saying. Their eyes will speak louder than their words ever will so take care."
