Emily's POV
You know how in all those romantic movies the girl gets a makeover and turns into a princess? Well, that wasn't my case for sure. There was nothing wrong with me, to begin with. I was just more of a tomboy than anything. If I wanted to look like a brainless Barbie I could've done it. Maybe I'd have had a little problem with that winged eyeliner thingy though.
Anyways...
As soon as we entered Sarah's house, the girls decided that we should get ready there for reasons still unknown to me, her mom welcomed us.
"Hello, girls! I haven't seen you in a while." She greeted with a warm smile and gave Leah and me a hug.
"Hello Mrs. L!" Leah grinned at her. They'd always been close. But then again, that wasn't that big of a surprise seeing as Sarah and Leah had practically grown up together.
"Hi, Mrs. Logan! It's nice to see you again. How are you doing?" I asked, being polite.
"Oh, I'm good, dear. What about you?"
"As good as I can considering that I have to go to school, you know." I joked and added an over exaggerated sigh.
"And that is the Emily I know, always complaining about school." She laughed and I threw a wink her way.
"Okay. You two stop flirting with each other." Sarah scolded playfully as she came and started pulling me towards the staircase in order to get to her room.
"It was nice talking to you!" I called as I was being dragged to the place where I least wanted to be at that moment - Sarah's room. Mainly because I dreaded what was going to happen in there that day.
When I entered her bedroom I was once again reminded of how different we were. Her walls were painted a light baby blue color whereas mine were a dark shade of purple. A queen sized bed was placed in the middle, pressed against one of the walls, probably the only similar thing to my room. There were two doors in front of the bed- one was her bathroom and the other- a walk-in closet. Her neat desk was right in front of the window, a laptop and a desk lamp placed on it. Way too ordered for my liking.
I took off my jacket and threw it on the chair next to the desk. Then I did the same as the other girls and got the dress I'd bought out of the bag and hung it in her closet.
"Okay girls, choose whatever you want." Sarah said and we immediately began searching for 'the perfect' outfit. I didn't know about them but I was looking for some dark skinny jeans and a random t-shirt that I could wear under my trademark leather jacket.
"Jeez Sarah, do you have normal skinny jeans?" I questioned after seeing that they were all in bright colors like orange, yellow and the worst of them all - pink. Ugh.
"They're all normal," she laughed and came over to me to help me choose something. "Hmm..." she hummed as she thumbed through the jeans before holding out a pair of ripped red ones. "How about those?" She was looking at me, patiently waiting for my reply.
"I'd have liked black better but I guess that's good enough," I smirked as an idea of what I wanted to wear formed into my head. I went back to where her t-shirts were and began looking for a white one. I swear this girl could open her own shop with all the clothes she had in there. And don't even get me started on the shoes! I grabbed the first one that I saw and decided that it'd do the job. "Okay you two, I'm done!" I exclaimed as I turned to see that they were nowhere near ready. Great. Leah had a dark gray skater skirt into her hands and Sarah was carrying around a pair of pink shorts. "Aren't you going to be cold outside like that?" I frowned, looking at their choice of clothes so far. I was late October after all.
