Emily's POV
What is the greatest pain known to the female population?
That's right. That awful week every month that makes you wish you were dead instead is what we call period. Okay, that may have been a tiny little bit over exaggerated but you got the point.
So now imagine that you're ready for school and you go to the bathroom before you get going only to discover that you'd need new jeans and panties. And because that happened just before your boyfriend came to pick you up for school, you're both currently running late and he's driving like a madman.
"Jack!" I screeched when we almost got hit as the driver from Fast and Furious sitting next to me ran a red light. Note the sarcasm.
"It's fine woman! No need to damage my eardrums!" He waved me off and continued speeding through town until we reached our final destination, thankfully in one piece.
"Mister if you think you can do that again, you're sorely mistaken." I slammed the door shut in order to show just how serious and mad I was.
"Oh come on baby, it wasn't that bad." He tried to wrap his arms around my waist but I quickly managed to wriggle out of his grip.
"It wasn't so bad!?" I rhetorically asked. "I don't know if you noticed but let me tell you we almost got killed." Every next word got louder and louder until I was basically screaming in his face. I turned to look around and sure enough, every fucking person in the parking lot was watching us.
"Why don't you all fuck off and mind your own business!" I shouted at the top of my lungs and flipped them off as I turned back to Jack, whose eyes were bulging out of their sockets.
Your boyfriend being your best friend definitely has its benefits. After a brief eye contact, Jack enveloped me in a tight hug just as the first tear slid down my cheek. I was just so pissed off and scared that I just broke down. Jack didn't say anything and just held me while I silently cried, trying not to make it that obvious.
"I'm sorry for shouting at you." I quietly mumbled and looking at my shoes in shame.
"It's okay baby. You can easily blame it on your period and you not having a coffee today." He winked and pecked my lips, my arms looping around his neck on their own accord.
And then realization set in...
"Wait, how do you know I'm on my period?" I tilted my head to the side and suspiciously looked at him.
"If you must know, as your boyfriend it's my duty to keep track of those things and be extra sweet during that time of the month," I raised my eyebrow at him as if to say 'Oh really?', "What happened earlier was an accident." He sheepishly admitted.
"You're seriously the best boyfriend ever!" I kissed him deeply and slowly, savoring the moment.
"And as such, I have to remind you that you'll be late for Math if you don't move your perfect little ass soon." He discreetly slapped my behind, making me yelp in surprise and glare at him. "Oh no, don't give me that look or I'll just carry you to your classroom on my shoulder." I just rolled my eyes, spun on my heels and headed for the entrance of what we students like to call hell. Jack quickly caught up to me and draped his arm over my shoulders, bringing me closer to his side.
As we rounded the corner, we ran into Aaron. Literally ran into him. My body collided with his and thanks to Jack's quick reflexes I managed not to fall on my bum. Instead, I just murderously glared at the guy before me, my hands rolling into fists by my sides and my jaw clenching and unclenching.
This morning just gets better and better...
"Watch where you're going asshole." I venomously spat at him. Seems like I hadn't really cooled down from before.
