I felt an odd sensation tossing and turning in my sleep. Sitting upright immediately as I gasped trying to recall my dreams, or nightmares. Flicking on the bedside light as I hugged my body. seeing the light had settled my mood. Easing it instantly.

Laying back down in my bed as I tried to relax into it once more. Having no luck as I could hear my dad quietly talking in his room. i'm usually not the sneaking around and listening into his business but I couldn't help it. Something told me to go listen. Creeping along the cold floor as his voice drew closer.

"-You aren't fucking getting it through your skull." His voice growled out and held a tone I never understood. "Mark, people are basically telling her already! I can't have it. If this doesn't stop then i'll have to take back being Alpha." Hearing him sigh. Alpha? What did that mean?

"Look, there were conditions on me coming down here willingly. If she finds out, I'm taking her away again. This is the last thing she needs and for all we know she could go through the rest of her life happy and unknowing of this bullshit." Trying to think of what he was talking about. Did he actually get a job here? Was he checking up on someone? If he and my mom were from here when they were younger than was he here checking up on old friends? Could I have family here?

"No i'm not going to fucking tell her! You remember the last time she shifted? There was so much slaughter. She won't remember that." I heard him growl yet again. Chewing on my lip as I tried to decipher what 'shifting' meant. "It's late Mark, we can talk about this tomorrow." hearing something crash in the room before flinching back.

Slowly creeping back into my room. Crawling in the bed and closing my eyes. Trying to figure out what my Dad was talking about. Hearing his bedroom door open and footsteps. Keeping my eyes closed as I heard him come closer. Hearing him open the window before leaving and closing the door behind himself.

Feeling my head slowly drift off to sleep as I mentally added this to the other list of things I needed to ask later on. Hearing the door shut quietly before the faint sound of a dog's growl went through the night air.
