I had an odd feeling about this as we walked down the road together. Him talking about stuff in the background. His personality was all over the place, constantly happy and energetic. I nodded once in a while and followed him. He kept a pretty quick pace which slightly annoyed me.
"So what happened?" Giving him an odd look before he pointed to my throat. Biting my lip and debating on telling him. It's not like its a secret right?
"Laryngeal Cancer..." It was extremely low but he just nodded. It was filled with an awkward moment as I tugged onto my cardigan sleeve. I'm not sure what to do at this point.
"I'm sorry," I felt him grab my shoulder as I jumped back, shocked. Seeing him raise his hands up in defense before he gave me a sheepish smile. Gazing into his brown eyes as I felt something stir inside me. Continuing walking as he caught up to me with ease. "So, do you want me to show you around the mall? It's basically the only place people hang out really."
Nodding my head as we continued to walk, feeling confused if we were going to walk the entire distance.Feeling myself already getting out of breath as he prodded on. Talking about the history of here and which families are the nicest to be around.
"Nova?" Watching my steps and paying little attention as he had already stopped in front of a car. Giving him an apologetic smile as I watched the faint look of hurt in his eyes. Walking over to the open door he held before buckling up and he drove off.
Realizing I just got into a basic strangers car, I could feel the tension in my body grow. As if sensing my discomfort he gave me a quick look.
"I promise i'm not going to take you into the forest and keep you kidnapped there in my secret cabin." I saw him wink, trying to ease the tension. Making myself relax as I slowly saw the more bustling parts of town approach us.
"So this," I saw him pointing to a modern looking restaurant. "Is where you can get the best food, average priced and well worth it." Watching the people come out as they stared at the car, before going back to talking amongst themselves. "Honestly, you wont be able to find something you wont like. It has a nice mix of everything."
I felt myself looking around, still new to everything before I saw us drive into the large parking lot as before, when I was with my dad. Feeling the guilt hit me before I tried to brush it off. As long as I was back before he noticed. Parking and getting out of the car as he was watching me staring at the building.
"Okay, so the strip part just has your standard health things but it also contains the best sushi and chinese places you can order from. Maybe you'll let me take you out there some time?" Nodding my head as I thought that he wouldn't be talking to me after this tour anyways. His obligation would be done and he wouldn't exactly be around a nobody like me.
We walked in the doors and I felt eyes on us immediately. Ignoring them as I kept up with his pace. Listening to him as we passed by electronic stores, clothing stores and make up places. I saw him testing me each time he pointed out a place. Seeing if it would peak my interest. Nothing did exactly until I saw something a couple stores down. Seeing a little sign pointing to a bookstore. Biting my lip as I thought about bugging him about it. Deciding against it for now, I can geek out some other time.
After a while of listening to him explain which stores were the best and which ones were just more of a hassle. We decided we needed a break for a moment. Well more like I had a cough fit and he decided I needed to sit down.
"How do you like it so far?" Nodding my head as I saw him smirk. He was leaning back on the bench. Giving me some time to actually stare at him. Realizing besides him towering over me he actually had some muscles hidden under the shirt he was wearing. Seeing it raising up as he stretched. Looking away as he caught my eyes staring.
"Leo!" Both of our attention was brought to the group of dudes coming closer to us. I heard him swear under his breath before he sat upright.
"Hey Cole," I watched as they held an expression before the man known as Cole gave a sly smirk. He ran his hand through his blond hair, as his face turned to me.
"You must be the new girl, Nova right?" He held his hand out and I went to shake it. Giving him a smile as I looked into his captivating blue eyes. Feeling my hand touch his before I felt a strange warmth coming from him. Seeing him suddenly change and bringing his head down to my hand and placing a kiss on it before I could pull away. Feeling a warm sensation running up my hand as my heart skipped a beat. Making me gasp and pull my hand away.
"Cole." Leo let out a low warning before Cole simply laughed and put his hands up in defense. "I think we need to get going." Seeing Leo get up quickly and leave me behind as I scrambled to catch up.
"Be seeing you around Nova." I looked back to see Cole giving me a sly smirk before catching stride with Leo. Seeing him hold a frown for a moment before he caught me staring at him.
"I really wish I knew what you were thinking." Feeling my lips form as I just shook my head. Too many words to say at one time.
